She also teaches glass blowing (I'm going to take that class, too!) and has demonstrated at the Pink Palace for years. The only drawback is that she's only in town one week a month. This morning was their recital. The older kids did a ballet using the music and telling the story of the Wizard of Oz. The choreography was sensitive and obviously put together with a great deal of professionalism. Some of the older girls, in my humble opinion, seemed to have attained to a level of professionalism as well. I think that the recital, itself, provided a vision to the younger kids and their parents just to what level, they could attain, if they so chose. Of course, the choreography was appropriately suited for each age group. But I must admitted that my granddaughter stole the show.

At the time Justin Timberlake's little brother Jonathan was one of my students as well and I remember he took to dance really well. I taught 3 to 4 classes a day from 8 years old to the teenagers and a mommy class on Fridays. Those were the good ole days in Memphis, but if you're ever in Germantown and you have the need to get your dance on please go to this studio.

Each spring, students work together and put on a big recital, for which parents have to stand in line to buy tickets. Costumes, production, the whole shebang. Rehearsals are daily the week prior to the program. Every other week of the school year, students attend a weekly class. The little ones take in the downstairs classrooms, accessed either through a back door (which they don't want anyone using when weather is cold, because it puts a chill on the downstairs studios), or through the painfully tight upper lobby and down a set of metal spiral stairs. When classes change, this is a truly hectic scene. I've started just dropping my 3 year old daughter in the lobby to walk herself down, because the stairs make me so nervous! In the changing area/restroom, something is always broken or out of order. The big dance area upstairs is a beautiful space, with plenty of room, great windows, and the tweens and teens seem to take their classes up there. The little girls are allowed to wear whatever leotard they like to classes, as long as they have appropriate dance shoes and purchase the tap shoes provided by the studio (they must all match for the show). Hair is to be up in a bun when possible, and not in a bow. When we came to join the studio in the fall, we may have caught the staff at a bad time. Miss Deborah, the dance teacher for the little ones, had just driven to Chicago and then lost her phone while she was up there. I never could get anyone on the phone from the actual studio, and have not been able to get much information from them via email. Your best bet is just to come into the studio between 4-5:30 one afternoon, to get information in person. It sounds from this review that it is a terrible place, but my daughter *adores* her hour-long ballet class, Miss Deborah, and the other little ballerinas. As long as she continues to enjoy it, we'll keep her enrolled. Maybe someday they'll expand, or get a bigger space. Until then, keep handing out the stickers, and we'll keep paying!

It is located in a plaza, but the spacing is great and I liked the layout. The art that was featured is beautiful. I love that they give various artist throughout the community. The event was very well put together and they utilized the full capacity of the space with dancing, a refreshment table, artwork, and more. Great space. My wife and I decided to get a painting her late grandmother painted for her cleaned and the linen…read moreliner replaced at Rando Frames. We didn't have a standard framing shop, and this one happened to be next door to our pool place so we brought it in around late July. We were quoted about a month turn around time and a steep price of over $300. We hadn't had anything framed in a while so we agreed to the steep price just because we wanted it done right and well for this precious piece. Months went by with no luck of completion, and we were told it was due to COVID stopping linen liner production, so they were going to use a different liner color which we agreed to. More months went by, and we were finally able to pick it up a week before Christmas. We went in the shop and waited a while as the employee had to filter through many framing jobs because nothing was organized. She finally found the piece, and we left happy. We didn't take the piece out of the plastic in effort to preserve the cleanliness and not wanting to drop it but through plastic it looked fine. I just unwrapped the plastic (less than a week later), and there is dust all over the frame. The dust is so thick you could remove some with a finger swipe. We were told the $300 was so steep because of the disassembly and cleaning process to preserve the integrity of the original frame, but clearly there was no cleaning to be done. Extremely late and poorly done: Can't get much worse than that!

I visited Theater Works on an extremely wet Saturday night, when it was raining down buckets and…read moresubsequently for a magical 2+ hours, the play I saw there wafted me away to a Stately Home in the British countryside and then during the 2nd Act to a basement apartment in Earl's Court, London! The play absolutely lived up to one of the lines spoken by a character in the play that I saw: "Fiction fills in the void when facts are not enough!" The theater's location is great and there's a parking garage right across the street, so parking is a total breeze. However the sidewalk is really beat up and broken, so if wearing heels or slippers, just be careful when walking across. We had "Will Call" tickets for a production of "Lettice & Lovage" but our name wasn't on the list, but luckily I could show the confirmation email to the ticket-office (which was basically a gentleman sitting behind a desk). I thought the production values of the show I saw were brilliant and really also enjoyed the intimate setting of the theater - only 5 rows and so every seat is a good one! Speaking of seats, this show was general admission, so would recommend getting to the theater around 15mins early if you want middle row/ central spot. Price was also fairly reasonable ($20) and all of us had an enjoyable time, plus learnt how marmalade got its name (google if you want to know more- it's a neat story and hint - if you speak French, there's a clue in the second part of the word!) They have some wine and drinks you can buy at intermission, but I am not a fan of the "Barefoot" brand, so didn't get any - also its just your basic Cab Sav Red/ and Semillon white, so if you want Shiraz or a Riesling, they don't have that available. Oh also - coupons for places to eat in the playbill, so have a flick thru that. There are some upcoming plays coming up that sound good - so will definitely be returning back to this Theater. Just finished enjoying The New Moon Theatre Company's production of William Shakespeare's Twelfth…read moreNight. It was absolutely fantastic! I didn't even know this theater existed and just happened to stumble across a playbill posting in Starbucks. My family was asking for birthday gift ideas so I sent them a picture of the playbill, since I enjoy live theater AND Shakespeare! EVERYONE needs to catch this before they close it out! The talent in TNMTC is boundless. Acting. Singing. Musicianship. They do it all. It was a non-stop laugh fest. Thanks y'all for putting on such a great show and thanks to my wife and two girls for such a great gift!
