In fact we had such a good experience that we contracted with him for a mold and particulate inspection, which he and his colleague Mike Ham conducted together. In all cases we got the results quickly and with very helpful documentation as well as follow-up phone calls. I am very pleased with the service and expertise of Justin Joe and BNF Consulting. We have an ongoing damp basement issue exacerbated by the very heavy rains during the Summer of 2018. We now have a set of appropriate, heavy-duty dehumidifiers in the basement, installed by Justin and his team. We still have to address the full removal of building materials damaged by mold, but Justin understood that due to our cash flow, we could only afford to take on the "preventative" action in upgrading our dehumidifying system at this time. (Luckily that damage isn't too extensive.) Hopefully soon we can take on the remainder of the mold remediation process. The humidifiers have been in operation over 6 months and the change to the basement climate is drastically improved and has relieve a lot of stress and worry for me. With this system, I can view the basement conditions from a magnet on our kitchen fridge. When installing the dehumidifiers, Justin and his team went the extra mile to ensure the outflow of the moisture from the basement was working properly, coming back to our home to repair the exterior pipe to ensure the drainage was getting to where it needed to be going. There was no extra charge added to do this. I called around the county quite a bit, and several people, contractors and real estate agents recommended Justin and BNF Consulting. Justin is everything you want in an environmental consultant. He and his team are professional, technical, responsive, personable and honest. He listens to your circumstances and provides insights and guidance based on your input and what he observes. I've been fighting with my landlord over a mold issue in my apartment for months. The mold has been making me very sick. The landlord sent their contractor over to "remediate" the mold several times and claimed they took care of the problem and that there was no more mold. The contractor claimed that my health issues were related to some other cause. Justin was able to visibly identify mold and he tested the air quality. The results were positive for toxic mold and mold that is a common allergen. Jack, one of his technicians called me the next day with results from the inspection and walked me through each sample. He advised me on how to stay safe/watch out for my health. He answered all of my questions and was happy to explain things I didn't understand. This review is for Justins customer relations. I was searching around to find someone to do a air quality test in my new house because I had redone my wooden floors and didnt realize there was horribles fumes and off-gassed. I emailed for a quote and I got a call in less than 24hrs, Justin was very detailed about what info he needed from me and sending me return information regarding the products that was used in my place (material safety data that lets me know the chemical compound of the product and dangers). He also gave me a proposal on what would need to be done in order to get the results I was asking about. He was very quick and responsive throughout the whole process. He was also very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fit the proposal in my budget currently. Even though I couldn't go forth with it, Justin was still very helpful and continued to answer questions I had. He was STILL quick and responsive. He also gave me suggestions on what I could do to help my situation out. We hired BNF for 3 different projects over the past month, all of which we were happy with the results. My sense is that they are a fairly new company but one committed to getting it right and providing personalized individualized service to help you get your mold/humidity problems resolved. We had the basic inspection (which did not turn up mold but highlighted multiple places where musty smells and humidity might be issues) We then had them do duct cleaning of some old sheet metal ducts, and the before and after videos that I could watch as Martin moved the wire camera through the ducts were pretty convincing. Finally they identified a unique dehumidifer product that could install permanently in our basement wall, and came back at no cost to re-seat the unit with extra soundproofing when the initial install was vibrating the studs making a hum audible upstairs. In each case Justin followed up consistently and reliably, worked responsively with my questions and unique needs, and then he and Martin worked on site to get the job done right. read more

He was so thorough in his explaining of what they were going to do, and how they were going to test. I called BFN to test my elderly Mother's home for mold. They were very thorough and identified the source quickly. We received a detailed report in just a few days that told us the type of mold and the amount present. More importantly the report gave us the evidence we needed to move forward with remediation. Our situation was a small easily contained area, so BFN was kind enough to offer advice on how to remediate ourselves using all the proper safety precautions.
