I was helping my mother open a checking and savings account. At her age (71) and being retired, she needs a little hand holding through new things like this. We came into Chase because we got a $300 coupon in the mail for opening a new account. She really doesn't have much money, so an extra $300 goes a long way for her. Our banker / specialist at Chase was Laura Homan. Admittedly my mom can be hard to deal with. She would talk at you for hours if you let her, and bankers these days are very busy and typically have lines of people waiting. Laura was very patient with Mom, and went slowly through everything so she would understand. I've seen bankers that want to try and sell you everything possible. While Laura did a good job representing Chase and different options available, she never got pushy with anything. We walked out with a new account, some checks, and a couple hundred extra dollars. Laura made it a great experience not only for my mom but me as well. Thanks Laura!

I visited today Bank of America, 1805 E Golf rd, Schaumburg, IL 60173…read more The reason for my visit was to deposit to my account, 2 Money Orders each worth $70- payments to reinstate my drivers licence. Since the suspension has been rescinded, a reinstatement fee was not required, and the payment was sent back to me by the secretary of state's of Traffic violations section. I presented to the bank officer by the name of "Kevin" all the documents including the letter from the Secretary of States office, my id, and my debit card . The bank officer was so rude, and prejudiced, rejected me first and when I insisted, he accepted but not posted it in the account. What a rude manner for a customer of two decades. I don't recommend that branch for anyone!

This branch is absolutely horrible. Do not come here for any type of a mortgage loan the mortgage…read moreofficer or is it complete ass. Now all I came in with a slightly complex situation with full power of attorney, the just arrogance and dismissiveness of this individual Brian was astonishing. Granted he may have been upfront saying it'd be 60 to 90 days to get a HELOC closed for a loan of less than 50K, he never stood up, never introduced himself, never shook my hand and was thoroughly dismissive and talked over the top of me while I was looking to explain the situation and then made assumptions about the power of attorney and what the underwriters would want and was stating that while the power of attorney would grant me the ability to create the application, they may want my terminal mother who is in hospice there to sign off for the final loan, which doesn't make any sense because the loan is exclusively to try and pay for her hospice stay and she's gonna die within the next few weeks. So if you're looking for a loan do not ever come to this branch, you may find another one that would be at least compassionate and open to hearing as well as have any type of standard business practice. But this branch is absolutely terrible and I won't bank with Bank of America at all because of it so I'm moving the rest of my Bank of America pieces off to different organizations.

Been with the Wintrust network of banks for a few years now. I started in Chicago with Wintrust and…read morethen floated my accounts over to Palatine Bank & Trust. This isn't really the banks fault as much as it's a corporate issue / computer structure issue. Whenever I want to transact business inside I have to get Northshore Bank paperwork filled out. It adds on a minute or two of bureaucracy. I could open new and local accounts but it's a very hard task to do with direct deposit from the government. Changing government direct deposit is beyond a headache and beyond bureaucracy clogged. So I just keep using my accounts as extended network. The bankers at PB&T don't care. The PB&T bankers are some of the best people in the community. They are an always welcoming and friendly staff and always engage in the community, even if that engagement is something as simple as letting someone with anxieties about the COVID pandemic talk it out for a few minutes over the bureaucracy of a transaction. There's banks I've been to that have personnel who are cold, unwilling to talk and just want to get business done and shove the next person up to the window. There's banks that have gotten so impersonal that you walk in stick your card in a reader punch your PIN and then the "teller" gives you your money or deposits things. I won't mention the competitor name but they're a national big box bank and frankly I feel like ALL of the big box banks have gotten to a point of fully objectifying clients and treating them like nothing more than walking bags of money to transact with. PB&T some of the bankers recognize me when I walk in and greet me, other times I meet a new banker and make a new connection. But those connections only become stronger. PB&T is truly a bank that makes every effort to connect with clients, support them and overall be a friend to the client rather than just a bank. I can't say this about any other bank, historically Harris Bank pre merger had this kind of connection but since the merge they too have gone to big box bank psychology. There are few banks in the world that a person can comfortably say one of my friends happens to be my bank branch. This is one of them. I strongly recommend you move to PB&T if you are banking elsewhere. Not only is PB&T a truly client oriented bank but the entire Wintrust network puts the client first. I had an overdraft happen, I fixed it the same day and they didn't charge me a dime. I had an overdraft happen at my previous bank fixed it the same day and still got charged $45 AND got told I couldn't get a reversal done even though I fixed it the day of the overdraft. I could go on and on with reasons for you to bank with PB&T but I think the best way for you to see the bank in action is to drop in and see for yourself.

This Saturday, I did my due diligence and followed up to see if my payment posted on my bank's website . Which it has not. I called the phone number on the back of the card, which I presume is CitiBank, and they do not see the confirmation number that was given to me either. I believe that I was lied to by the person on Wednesday. I will proceed to the nearest branch next week and pay the account off and close the account out. So. to anyone opening a credit card at Macy's, I have one word for you: BEWARE

Do your banking elsewhere, or just stuff your money in a mattress. Citibank has cruelly taunted and harassed my 91 year old father over a series of three months, and they will not stop. This isn't because he's poor, either. He's got plenty of money. I have power of attorney for my father, and as his dementia progresses, I've had to take over more of his day to day finances-- pretty normal. Let me tell you, Citibank has gone above and beyond to give me a hard time. They ignore expensive legal paperwork sent in multiple times. Workers at this branch walk away from their jobs if they get sick, with no one attempting to take over their responsibilities. What took two days at other banks is now stretching into four months with this place. I've never asked this garbage institution for any favors or kindness. I've just expected them to comply with the law... but they can't even be bothered to do that. Oh, they also mailed me a stranger's sensitive financial documents-- notary stamp and all. I'm a decent person, so I mailed those documents to their intended owners. I'm not interested in stealing anyone's identity... but if I was, they literally mailed me everything I'd need.
