Cut my neighbor's tree's but blocked my driveway and mailbox. Unprofessional. Not good to work with.

We needed one tree taken down and one huge branch over our house. I called one day and the job was scheduled in two days which was amazing. When the owner came to our house he said it wouldn't be a problem to cut and stack the wood in our woodpile. When the workers came, they asked me what trees they were taking down and where I wanted the wood. They said it wouldn't be a problem to cut it and put it with our woodpile. I have the workers chips, salsa, and water. I stayed at home for a few hours to make sure they didn't need anything and then left. When I came home, I had 3 crumbled empty water bottles in my yard, no new wood in my woodpile, and MASSIVE pieces of wood left in the middle of my yard. I called, expecting the workers to come back another day bc they didn't have time to finish and I was told "where the wood lays it stays." That was never stated. No tree company leaves huge wood pieces in the middle of a yard. After a few texts, they agreed to send the workers out next week to cut the wood to 24"- which they did. We will stack and cut (smaller) all of the wood they left. I wouldn't tell anyone to use this landscaping service unless they were in an emergency. I'm shocked workers would litter in my yard and do a lazy job hoping they would get away with it. Company needs higher standards. Use a different tree service read more

I hired this firm upon a neighbor's recommendation after they did a good job in clearing out "the back woods" behind her property so that she could move forward with her projects. I have had a giant dead tree in that same "back woods" area so I spoke to the chief landscaper and requested a quote. I learned that they do not do stump removal but since my tree was in an area that really no one notices that didn't matter to me. I made an apt for the following week and a couple of days ago learned there was a cancellation and they would come out then. They parked off the far side of a few neighboring homes and cut the tree on a diagonal. I came out later to inspect the work and found fallen pieces of tree limbs everywhere. Three times I instructed them to clear out all the limbs not only on mine but also on my neighbor's properties since I did not wish to be held liable. I was assured they would do this. The next day after I had paid them one of my other neighbors contacted me and showed me that her small dogwood tree in her backyard was half torn off and some debris was left there. The portion that got "shaved off" was nowhere to be found. Obviously it was hauled away with the debris. I called several times to complain and was told that the owner would be out in a few days to inspect the damage and see what they would do about it. I informed them that the tree should have be cut parallel to the properties since there is an easement 15 feet from the back of our homes and there would not have been any damage. Instead they took the easy way out. It is my intent to stay after this business to make sure my neighbor gets restitution for their trespassing on her property as well as damage that could have been avoided. I wasn't completely satisfied with the work they did in removing my dead tree however, since the visible stump is hidden among the live trees I can deal with it. I never had the motivation to write a customer review on a company before today. I hired Blystone to cut down a tree and remove the stump over 2 months ago. The tree removal was okay. Done in a timely manner. But the staff "forgot" their stump machine. They assured me that they would return within the next week to take care of my stump. I spoke to the receptionist about 2-3 times a week for the past two months to have this taken care of and they never showed up. From reception, ownership, to the actual workers, it is a very unprofessional organization. During my tree removal, about 5-6 workers were present. One guy cut down the tree, someone else spotted him, then the rest of the workers are playing a game of hot potato with my dog's tennis ball. Then two of the workers got so bored they just decided to have a wrestling match in my neighbors yard. So not only did they forget my stump but I had to watch a group of their employees horse around while the full job wasnt complete. So if you hire Blystone, you might just be paying for their employees to work on their wrestling moves rather than completing the job. Also included in my battle to get my tree stump removed was the battle with reception 2-3 times a week. One of these attempts, about a month apart from the tree removal, i called the receptionist again to schedule a stump removal. She then tells me that the stump machine is broken and that is why my stump has never been removed. She advised me to call back in the first week of June to finally finish the job. She told me the stump machine was getting repaired in Cranberry. Seemed odd to me. But the NEXT DAY on my way home from work I see a stump machine on the back of a Blystone Truck on Noblestown Road which is less than a mile from my house. So rather the receptionist lied about the stump machine being in Cranberry, or there are multiple stump machines.. Either way, super unprofessional and very frustrating to deal with. Not only was my job not complete but being lied to when all i want to do is pay for a service is very annoying. So if you're in the market for Tree service I highly recommend you do NOT hire Blystone. In my case, they could not have been any less professional. There offices are located less than a mile from my house and they could not find the motivation to serve a customer who already paid them for a $1000 + job?? Hopefully Blystone will change its ways and serve their customers with class, but after my experience with this company, i cannot express how unprofessional their actions were. They lied to me, wrestled in my neighbors yard, told me they were coming on a particular day and did not show. Just a horrible way of doing business. Do not hire Blystone if you are looking for a favorable experience. read more

Answered the call right away, did an estimate promptly, great price for the work requested, showed up on time and worked non stop with a large crew and actually did more work than I requested. I ordered firewood from these guys and am very unhappy with it. At least half of it is completely and totally unseasoned, and will not burn even in an already hot fire. 10% of the logs are over two feet long and will not fit in a standard woodstove. To top it all off, the guy ran into my gate with his truck and damaged it. I called and left a voice mail regarding my complaints, received no call back. No wonder they prefer cash payment. It was a spur of the moment decision. These guys were in my neighborhood. I had some big trees in hard to reach places and they took care of it right away. Very nice, efficient, good price, and fun to watch. Definitely would recommend them! read more
