So what was known as BLVD bar has now been renamed Number Five. I dont know why, Im assuming they've changed owners, but the venue still has the same website name...kind of weird, but whatever.
The restaurant/ bar is situated in the big open square right between the Southgate Arts and Leisure Precincy and Crown Casino looking out over the Yarra river and the open square, which is most frequently home to buskers, abstract art pieces and mini company prootions disgusied as feebie giveaways or promotion.
Its a great place to stop for a few after work drinks, with a great happy hour. Later in the evening, the bar kicks up a notch, though the party atmosphere is a little more scaled down than it was when this venue was BLVD. Now its more of a dinner and drinks kind of place than a bar, aside from on the outdoor patio, where drinks are the main focus.
They have a fantastic function space here too. I attended a 21st birthday in the upstairs venue, and it was the perfect location for a cocktail party. Its quite a large space, so it is suitable for larger parties and groups. read more
