On the long road between Melbourne and Adelaide, the Deer Park Hotel has stood for many years as both a local pub and a last stop watering hole on your way out of the city.
Refurbishing in the last few years and sporting a new menu has brought this pub new life. Of course, with the obligatory TAB, pokies machine area and bottle O, a steady trade is always done here. But for me the appeal lies in the history of the venue in Deer Park, and of course the food.
You cant really go wrong with pouring a cold beer, so no complaints there. The new menu is pretty good, and they do a parma night for $12.50 on a Tuesday, and a steak night for $15 on a Wednesday.
The other thing I like is thtat, the owners are moving the venue forward into the 21st century, and have a fully functioing and easy to use website. Sounds silly, but many local pubs dont have one, and so you just dont know whats happening thereon any given night. I like being able to look it up and see whats on. read more
