On April 2nd I went to Ikea in Rome, bought and paid shipping for a matress to be delivered to my…read morehome. The earlies they could deliver is was one month later, the morning of May 2. The materasso didn't come so the next day I had on online "chat" with Ikea. They told me that I would be called the following morning with a new delivery day and time. I heard nothing. Two days later I initiated another "chat" and was told that since it was Sunday that they couldn't contact the shipper but that they or the shipper would call me on Monday. No response came. Now, a week later I just had a third chat. I am now told that I have to wait another three weeks for delivery even though Ikea claims that it is in the warehouse and has been the entire time. It's frustrating to spend so much for such poor customer service. Their promises have not been kept, they have not contacted me as promised and seem to be in chaos. I have shopped at Ikea for over 20 years and this looks to be the end of that.

This is a great store to find cute little goodies whether it be for home, your office, kitchen or…read moregifts. Almost reminded me of a super cute household novelty IKEA. It has a very simple, Swedish and Scandinavian designer kinda feel. The prices are good and the store layout is pretty easy to navigate. Fun little store that we don't have anything like back in the states!

I was having a great morning shopping at IKEA when the hunger pangs started making their presence…read moreknown. I have eaten in the IKEA restaurant a few times, both in the US and here in Italy, so I knew how great it was and because of that I made a straight line towards the meatballs! We ate the traditional choice of meatballs served with mash potato, gravy and lingonberry jam. There were also some fabulous looking salmon filets, salads and a bunch of other delicious looking sides. This time I also chose the Swedish apple cake served with a side of vanilla sauce, which was delicious and not too sweet as is the way once you leave the US. Many people have reviewed this restaurant but I wanted to confirm that the food is just as good in Rome as elsewhere and if you are in the neighborhood you should definitely stop by.
