It's true. He is the most gentle man I have ever met in my life. I began seeing him about 6 months after my mother began treatment with him. She had been experiencing chronic neck and lower back tension, in addition to decades worth of migraines under her belt and a duel against carpel tunnel. I have known Mr. Pappas for about 5, maybe 6 years. I began treatment while in highschool. I had always complained of my back aching from my sports endeavors, as well as neck tension. Both my mother and sister go to him, as well as about 90% of my mother's coworkers. His professional, calming, sterile space (complete with a lobby, his office, and apprx. 4 rooms in which he does the sessions) lies under his own home. He is a family man; currently, his brother helps him keep the books. Mr. Pappas has one piece of artwork in particular, drawn and given to him by his son Walter, with the heading "My Dad". It's endearing. He does a variety of body treatments (spellings may be off) - moxa, gua sha, massage utilizing Tiger Balm and Sombra Cream and of course needle work. His scheduling is flexible, and he is extremely accommodating. He NEVER pushes his herbal remedies on you to buy, although he has plenty to offer if you are looking for a suggestion. He is sensitive to the issue of money, and never presses about it. Extreme professionalism matched with a genuine respect and concern for patients, Mr. Pappas is top-shelf. I respect this man more than most people I have ever met. I will forever be comparing acupuncturists to him, and, since I have moved to New York, I regret that I will never find one who measures up.

The acupuncturist makes his/her rounds, treating each person individually. You still have plenty of privacy! There are hospital room curtains separating each bed. White noise machines and soft music help lull you into relaxation. The acupuncturists are lovely, warm people who remember you by name. They take their time to treat your individual needs. I barely notice there are other people in the room. You can pay between $20-$40 per session (your choice). I highly recommend you try a session!

The clinic was clean, calming, and very relaxing. Yesika thoroughly went through my medical history, asking and answering questions, and explaining everything. I saw an improvement after my first treatment, but I didn't want to credit acupuncture till I was sure. I have had 10 treatments so far and it's amazing how I have been able to replace prescription pain pills with Tylenol. I feel way more relaxed and overall much better. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift.
