Professional, friendly and prompt! Awesome if you need Mohs surgery. From the time I arrived to the time I left, I felt important.

I spent two hours trying to reschedule this appointment without leaving messages. Finally hit billing and spoke to a kind person that was able to cancel. I will not be rescheduling my consultation. These visits are cash. With that said I expect Professional services. Their 800 number does not work for me.

Dr. Crane came in, looked at it for two seconds said "yep! its a mole" and when i asked if it could be removed he said "yes" and they began pulling out equipment to remove it. i saw a gigantic needle and asked if they were going to numb it and it was a shot numb. at that moment i knew something wasn't right and i said you know what i'll just do it another day. then two weeks after this visit i noticed the bump changing turning redder and i poked it with a needle and squeezed. there came the contents of the bump proving i was right initially thinking it was a cyst. if Dr. Crane actually would have looked at this bump, my $30 visit wouldn't have been wasted.

My wife once cut her leg badly on a Sunday when the urgent care near us was closed. I called Dr. Crane in a panic and he actually met us at his office that Sunday afternoon. He cleaned, stitched and disinfected her bad wound. Another time, his amazing Nurse Cleary correctly noted an internal infection in my shoulder after the orthopedic surgeon and his PA had both misdiagnosed the post surgical infection as a dermatology issue. This entire group is exceptional.

They are now owned by a giant out-of-state company which has resulted in less accountability for their poor performance. I don't understand how they can have so many employees yet you can never get any real customer service. And much of the staff does not seem to be well-trained at all. It's difficult to reach a real person by phone at Atlantic and when you finally get someone, rarely do you get a person who knows what they're doing. Most of them seem constantly confused and very vague in all their answers. It's like it's their first day on the job. They also make billing mistakes and then good luck finding the right person who can help you. And when you finally see a doctor, the ones I've had are in and out of the room so fast that you suspect they are using stopwatches to keep from going over spending 3 1/2 minutes with you. I have switched to a smaller dermatologist's office. One that doesn't make me feel like I'm on a conveyer belt on an assembly line. One that is not part of the giant conglomerations who are taking over all the healthcare facilities in Wilmington. I do not recommend Atlantic Dermatology.

I've gotten pedicures there recently and decided to try their hair stylist. I was given a name Frankie and proceeded to schedule an appointment. Before the appointment, I showed her a photo of my desired style. She looked over it several times and guided me to shampoo station where she pushed my head and hair around way too harshly and without much care as to how it felt. When I said, "hey, slow down", she responded, "we're either a good fit, or not!" Hmm? The cut was exactly the opposite of what I had asked for, after asking to see the photo several times. Now, I will say that it was in no way the cut I requested but the worst part was after going there for a pedicure and mentioning my displeasure to my pedi person about the haircut and she agreed there was no similarity between the photo and my hair. No problem. It's not the first haircut that I got where I wasn't satisfied. And because of Frankie's (Trish?) attitude at the appointment, I didn't dare go back and complain. All that being said, I attempted to make another Pedi appointment and was told they were not accepting appointments for me. No explanation, nothing, just no appointment for me! So, hopefully, the owner,Melinda is reading this and will explain where their professionalism came from. Thanks for listening. I just received a response from Melinda on my post. None of what she said was in any way accurate. The desk person stated that all she knew was that she was not allowed to schedule me AND at the time I was getting the cut, there were a total of one other client and Liz in the entire salon when I was there and the only person who said anything negative was the stylist. I was too shocked to speak. I in no way complained about the cut to her, but it was mentioned to Liz who had referred me to the stylist, when I was there a week later.

My whole experience at this doctor's office was the worst experience I've ever had to deal with…read moredr. When I first got there I told the lady my name call my insurance and ID my mother had made this appointment now course I had just moved from another state I knew she would not take it but I wasn't sure about what my mom and her had to discuss if they were going to try to file it see if they covered it anyways. So i tell her that the only insurance card I had was Medicaid I'm cut off immediately and was told they didn't even see Medicaid patients. The look on this woman's face and the way she was saying i made me feel like the biggest piece of shit ever because I had Medicaid. When I did proceed to tell her five different times in the same wording that I knew they they did not accept it I was just letting her know because like I had said I don't know what her and my mother had talked about. Then she askd me to fill out the normal new patient paperwork thshe doesn't even know if she'll even see me today because I'm Medicaid pay. And I'm paying out of pocket so you know if I didn't say this already. So as she goes to talk to the doctor I can hear every word the walls are paper-thin the doctor had just walked out with another patient who she's checking out so all is said in front of this patient by the time the patient had came out the doctor came to get me now I'm a person that when I am pissed off I go extreme. I'm holding myself together as well as I can at this point in the back of my head im saying you know maybe the doctors not as bad as the lady up front. Maybe it's just her. So I give the doctor a chance I go back there proceed to tell her about my face which is broken out bad honestly I understand birth control and hormone changes can effect it but this lady sat there and turned my face into a subject of whether or not I'm taking birth control because the break up which I brought up only to express the stress I had been going through so maybe it would be more understanding of why my face started breaking Out and all of the factors I brought up to her that one was the one she stuck on proceeded to talk to me about birth control and STDs and everything else that has nothing to do with my face not only that the fact that as far as my sex life is none of her business and I'm at this point past the point of being mad because I don't want to be rude to this 90 year old woman I just want to leave I cannot take anymore judgement from these two old ladies I will never go to her again oh and I forgot to add after going through it five different times the lady had finally understood what I was trying to say but she was getting me to sign this wavier and at this point she still didn't understand what I was trying to say gets me to sign this wavier stating that she explained to me that they do not accept Medicaid that it would be paid out of pocket and that I fully understood and blah blah blah so instead of sitting there for 30 minutes arguing that she does not even want to take me as a patient because I'm just Medicaid patient. Regardless whether I'm paying out-of-pocket or not shows me this fucking waiver and all of tgat humiliation that she put me through out and Unnecessary talking that she did on top of doing it in front of another patient about me. Which was unprofessional she could have prevented all of that and at the beginning automatically said at that we don't accept Medicaid but if you still want to be seen we can see if you have another insurance or pay out of pocket if I said yes then asked me to please sign this waiver stating that we did let you understand that we don't accept Medicaid that it will be paid out of such and such but instead this lady had to make sure she publicly embarrassed me while violating the HIPAA law by discussing anything about me in front of another patient to the doctor she wanted to make sure she went through all of that justto end up having me sign that wavier me I wish I would have jjust walkning out to start with but I was trying to stay calm because I'm told that I guess I take offense easily to things that aren't meant the way they're meant so I was trying to just think about these women and their generation but these two where conometely unprofessional and flat out rude.

Today he tried to return to her practice now that insurance is not an impediment. We were shocked to learn that Dr. Kassens will not take back any patient who left her practice for another dermatologist in Wilmington. Since my husband has a serious condition that requires medical intervention, we could not afford to go without a dermatologist for 10 years. Therefore, he sought an in-network doctor. Dr. Kassens' policy is not simply ignorant, It calls into question her medical ethics. Needless to say, we have found another doctor.
