I have had to stay in Manhattan for close to two weeks now due to mechanical issues. Everyday I check into a hotel, check out the next morning believing this will be the day we leave, only to have to check into another hotel. With that being said, I feel comfortable in saying I believe this hotel is the best Manhattan has to offer. It's a nice hotel, comfortable beds. It's fairly clean. I'm a clean freak, so take that comment with a grain of salt. I just happen to notice when the counters haven't been cleaned...just little stuff. The staff is outstanding. From the front desk, to the bartender, and to everyone in between. Everyone was nice and accommodating. The bartender, Steve I believe, was so nice and gave us great service and helpful advice on what to do and where to eat. You can't beat the location. You can walk just about everywhere you might want to go. Cute bookstore down the street. Great restaurants (recommend So Long Saloon). Nice little coffee shop. My daughter loves Varsity Donuts right down the street. Since we have been staying at so many hotels, I just started using Expedia and Hotel Tonight. Was able to nail down some great rates for this place. My first night I used Hotel Tonight and paid $85, after taxes and the second night used Expedia and paid a little over $100. Really can't beat this place, and ESPECIALLY AT THESE PRICES!! Score. If you are staying in Manhattan, this is the place to stay. read more

This brand new hotel hotel is beautiful, well maintained and the staff are exceptionally friendly. (Not to mention you can tell everything has been meticulously cleaned) The main lobby has free wifi (pass code at front desk) and the Bluemont Lounge seems like it would be a great time in the evenings. Located in the heart of Aggieville, this would be a great place to stay if you are doing a college visit or are in town for game day. It might not be walking distance from the football stadium but you can walk to dozens of local restaurants and bars and campus appears to be in walking distance. For about $129 a night on a holiday weekend this hotel is very reasonably priced. Plenty of parking for guests and easy to find. read more

The only reason this place gets two stars is because our room was great. Came here for our Valentine's Day date. Went to the lounge to have dinner and drinks and we were highly disappointed. With the service, the other people in the bar, and the food. The bartender Jaclynn was less than attentive and hardly competent enough to tell people to leave. She continued to serve three guys who couldn't stand without hanging onto one another and didn't ask them to leave till one of them dropped his beer all over the floor. Then when they were asked to leave, the girls at the desk were going to give them a room. I wouldn't want or trust people like that in rooms I was responsible for. Now for the food....it's a complete joke. Im sure the only thing they've got back there in the "kitchen" is a microwave. I was served store bought hummus and the sliders were frozen microwaveable tiny hamburgers that I'm not even sure were ground beef, they were cold and the bacon my fiancé added to his was microwaveable bacon as well. And to top it off it wasn't cheap! I paid $160 for a room at this hotel to have a nice relaxing night with my fiancé and I got a horrible experience and a poor excuse for food. I will be having a word with the manager in the morning. Can't wait to see what's for breakfast. read more

A great hotel in the middle of nowhere. I was concerned as to where my GPS was guiding me late at night, but it turns out, this is a Kansas State university town, small and quaint but enough options for food or drink, all within walking distance. The rooms were clean and big, and there was also a bar downstairs in the lobby. What more could a traveler ask for? And they are pet friendly without the big costs of making it to Topeka. I highly suggest this as a resting point for any traveler! read more

This hotel is wonderful. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great (free) breakfast, and you can't beat the location. Walking to Aggieville takes no time at all and you are just about as close to campus as you can be. The wifi is free, with a pass code from the front desk, and there are a lot of channels on the TV. The rooms look exactly as pictured on the hotel website and I don't know if I could be more pleased! I will definitely be recommending this hotel to friends and we will be returning! (Also, currently, The Bluemont has a promotional rate that includes a $50 giftcard to Coco Bolos...I wouldn't pass this up! Just had a fantastic stay at the Bluemont after attending a family wedding in Manhattan. First of, just want to say that I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, so I'm a city gal and familiar with nice hotels. That being said, this was one of the best hotel stays I've had. The hotel has a big city vibe with small town friendliness. It's the best of both worlds. The front desk staff were super friendly and professional. The bartender was fantastic. He kept the bar open late for our large family gathering and even brought us pretzels for free. Even the housekeeping staff was friendly. The hotel is new and very clean and well maintained. It's very modern, and the rooms were large. The lounge area was nice and the bar prices reasonable. There was free breakfast, which had a lot of generous options, but the food was just ok. The hotel is directly across from K-State. You can walk to the Aggieville district, where there is a bustling nightlife of bars, with restaurants during the day. Varsity Donuts is a brief walk as well. read more

We have spent a night here at the hotel at last minute booking. We did not expect to get such a great friendly welcome from the staffs, and king size bed, free breakfast the next morning and a mini refrigerator in the room. Plus side to the hotel is that they have a pool and a great view on the top floor. I would recommend anyone going into Kansas, Manhattan area to stay at the Bluemont hotel not just for the price but for the experience. read more

My stay at the Bluemont was disappointing. First of all there was no service phone in the room. Second, the tv didn't work even after several attempts by the staff to get it going. I was offered a different room the next day but wasn't offered any help by the staff to move my belongings to the new room. Third, there are no vent fans in the bathrooms which is quite annoying after having to swing the door open and shut to get the steam out of the room while I had guests in the room. It was also noisy with shouting drunks both nights. Overall, I would never stay there again. read more

In town for graduation this weekend and stayed 2 nights. Great location and clean, quiet hotel. Room was awesome and breakfast was good. Honestly, what put this place over the top is its employees. From the front desk staff to breakfast workers everyone was great. But the best of the best were Chris and Hattie at the bar. Hanging out with them was like hanging out with your family or best friend. Probably the best bar keepers I've ever had. Bayleigh came in later and was great too. We live 2 hours away but would consider a return trip just to see our friends at the Bluemont. read more

Our First and LAST stay. Don't let the fasade and lobby fool you. The bottom floor is gorgeous, but that's where it ends. We stayed in the "Premier" hotel in Manhattan, in the nicest room they've got. The King Executive Suite for our 10th wedding anniversary.. Definitely spacious with a gorgeous view, but the rooms are ugly and the amenities more on par with a mid level chain hotel, and in no way resemble what you see from the bottom floor. Even the carpet reminds you of a mall. Our stay cost us almost $900 for 2 nights. No bathtub, just a gym locker room style shower. Those that have women in our lives know when they are somewhere to relax, they want to take a long bath and shave, especially for the premium price. Now for the kicker, the nicest rooms are directly below the event space on the top floor, not a huge deal until Sunday morning. We woke up to the Bluemont Church band at 8:30am. They have a full band with a drum set. Base drum and all. Pounded drumming noise for almost an hour through our ceilings. 20 minutes in, I went down and spoke to the manager and informed them they use a full trap set with the church band. She claimed to not know, maybe they're just moving chairs, and that it would be dealt with. Blatant lie, it didn't stop for 40 more minutes. On top of that, that was only their practice before church. The drumming started again at 10am at the beginning of service for another 30 minutes. Not my style to leave reviews, but after being lied to and enduring our Sunday morning bash, here I am. This hotel is exactly why Airbnb's are so successful and will continue to grow. Never will I ever stay here again. read more

The lady at the front desk was less than helpful to begin with. I got all the way up to our thrid story room with arms full of stuff only to not be able to get into our room because the key cards had not been activated. Upon return to the front desk the same receptionist said that she new right away that she had forgotten to activate them. The room itself was very nice and we were excited for the weekend. When the other half of my party came, since I did have a double queen room, I asked if we coudl get validation for her parking as well and I was told that they only allow one car per room. Over the six pre-reservation emails that I recieved not one time did it say that there was a one car limit. I asked what we were supposed to do with her car and they directed us accross the street to the University Parking lot. The lot was completely full... We had to park her car in a competely different lot that there happened to be parking in. The parking lot that is attached to the building is alot very poorly designed, if you drive to the end and there is no parking spots you have to back down the ramp. We come to Manhattan every year to work security in Aggieville, and for the convienience we were really excited to stay at this new hotel. We will not be staying here in the future. The price is not work the troubles. read more

Stayed at the Bluemont Hotel Last weekend for my Cousin's wedding. The rooms were clean and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Wonderful breakfast selection as well. We visited Manhattan for the first time in five years and wanted something close to campus and Aggieville. The location was great and the price was fair. The room was HUGE and with a great view. The rooms were clean and updated since the hotel was built recently. The underground parking was a bonus as well since it gets hot in the summer. The breakfast was good - nothing exceptional but I've had much worse. Now here's the bad - the noise. Some of the noise was drowned out just by naturally being in a building but the 2 AM closing bar crowd woke us up and this was a Sunday night during the summer. I can't imagine how noisy it gets during school year weekends or on game day. They offer complimentary ear plugs but I don't know of many people who can sleep while wearing them. But then we could hear the couple in the room above us at 3 am. Overall it's not the best place if you need something quiet but the location is great if you want a night out in the Ville. read more

So, we arrived and our rooms had been given away "because the rooms weren't held with a credit card" and after asking how we could have had a reservation without a card, they didn't have an answer for us. This is a new hotel, very clean and spacious. Fast wi-fi, and helpful staff. Was able to park off the street, right by the back door and elevator. It's walking distance to a fabulous Indian restaurant, and you can stroll through the university's very pretty grounds. Unfortunately we were a little late for the art gallery, but it looked stunning through the windows-- a much better presence than an east-coaster would think of "bloody Kansas." Same thing with the pretty downtown area with its Victorian homes and interesting-looking clubs and shops. Anyway the hotel had a nice view-- a huge thunderstorm with hail blew through and it was quite a site. We got a rate of less than $100-- worth twice that in a bigger city. Breakfast was included, but just acceptable. Lots of things heated over. There was an upstairs bar with 1 free drink, but the live jazz was pretty poor, and the audience looked like their friends and family. At least the Bluemont tried. The only real disappointment was that there was only one bath towel. It was nice, but if you have an evening shower, you will have a wet towel for a morning shower. The management later said that if I had called, they would have sent up more towels, but I had hoped it would dry by morning. It's just that most 4 star hotels would have no shortage of towels-- an interesting fault. Another weird thing was that it had a plastic sheet under the cotton that rattled and crinkled when you moved on the otherwise very comfortable bed-- I hadn't seen one of those since my kids were in a crib. Weird on a king bed. I just pulled it off, and got a great night sleep. I like certain weird cultural shortcuts found in the midwest, so no hard feelings-- just different. It's cool that such an out-of-the-way place would have such a well-appointed hotel. For Manhattan, KS it definitely deserves 5 stars-- especially for the price and service-- and the Dancing Ganesh Indian Restaurant just across the street. Would love to stop by Manhattan again, walk the campus more and spend a few hours in the University's art gallery. read more
