Very misleading advertising. The sign out front said deals from 10%-25% off. That was only depending on how much you purchased. My friend and I looked at products for at least 10 minutes and no one acknowledged we were there. Several employees ignored us. We had to approach them for help. They seemed annoyed when we asked them how much items cost. I decided to buy $100 worth of items to get the 10% off deal. I go to this store because they are known to carry good quality of products. Browsed the store late October to see what product lines were available. The sales person was responsive with my questions and lead me to various items I wanted to 'try out'. The following week I returned and found the same sales person, named Diana. Diana helped with color matching, and comparing foundation formulas. I bought a number of products and would shop here again, as the sales person was not pushy, and took her time with my decision making process. You don't see too many men shopping at Bluemercury--at least, I've never seen one in the store. But when I walked in, I already had a carefully designed skincare routine in mind. That's when I had the pleasure of working with Inna, and she completely exceeded my expectations. She took the time to study my list and not only helped me find what I needed but also pointed out that some of my items were duplicated--saving me from unnecessary purchases. Bottom Line: A fancy cosmetics, skin care and beauty products store. Bluemercury is a high end cosmetics, skin care and beauty products store that carries their private label ("M-61") line but also many other high end brands. Additionally, most locations, like this downtown Sarasota location has a spa. I haven't tried the spa so this review is for the retail experience only. Bluemercury is smaller and nicer than an Ulta or Sephora. It definitely has a higher end and more intimate feel. Here are some my favorites that I came across at Bluemercury: - R&Co hair products like their dry shampoo - Jo Malone London fragrances - Molton Brown shower gel - Laura Mercier translucent finishing powder Bluemercury also has products for men like the Jack Black line. They're doing their best to accommodate the customer and even though we're all not happy with the rules those who claim to be the scientists and experts, Ive noticed that some clientele (females mind you) can't ever be happy no matter what these poor sales staff do! I'm impressed with the treatment of us regular customers as they're staff and management (Anna) bend over backwards to make ya happy! Always friendly always helpful and if you need to know about a particular line them may I suggest that you go READ UP AND DO YOUR RESEARCH as it's not always worth it for the store to break open and make you a sample on a product line that costs them as well as you a small fortune . We're in a pandemic recovering store shutdown so have some manners gala and don't ask em to break into a bottle of goo for you! Profits are tough these days! I will say this regarding samples.. this store is the BEST at providing samples (most of my purchases are from samples) but Blue Mercury gives you the most darling little bags stuffed with terrific samples!! Stay clear away! My wife and I came into the shop to look for Glam Glow products. We passed two sales associates by the door. Neither one even acknowledged that we came in. One of them clearly in her 60's was texting, seriously? We then found the glam glow products by ourselves. By this point there was 6 sales people on the floor, including the manager and all of them talking, chatting about their weekend plans. I looked at my wife and said we'll just buy it online. It's funny to me how all these places are hurting for business yet they are steering the ship straight to the sea floor. One of the rudest clerks I've encountered anywhere in a long time. Had to ask for help then didn't get it. When what I wanted was out of place she could not be bothered to look for it nor would she offer possible alternatives even when I hinted that she might know of other options. I don't get it. I shop at the store on Southport in Chicago and they are pleasant , helpful and willing to listen and offer solutions. This store is in a race to fail as fast as it can. What the heck???? read more

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Was the only person in the store other than FIVE employees. Not one person addressed me, asked if I needed help, nothing. Finally when I asked any employee if he could speak with me about a product he acted annoyed, gave me a quick " yeah it's great" and rushed off. I really like Blue Mercury, great products and usually friendly staff but NOT the location in Sarasota - the worst service imaginable. The unfriendly staff will not acknowledge you, when you ask for help they will begrudgingly help with as little effort as possible. They offered no insight into potential products that would help my skin concerns, they really make you feel like a nuisance for being in there which is a shame as I had every intention of buying new products. I tried another day, hoping for some more friendly and willing assistance, the usual sour faces were there along with other staff that could not care less. Will avoid this location, the one in Charlotte is lovely with such friendly caring and kind staff members. The Sarasota group needs to find new jobs, the service industry is clearly not their interest. read more

I love that Blue Mercury offers products that Sephora does not, and is more organized, less overwhelming and offers high-quality products and not just trendy brands! I also love that Blue Mercury offers a spa that utilizes the same high-quality products and a super relaxing experience. I regularly visit Spangle for facials. SHE.IS.THE.BEST!!!!!
