This was my first time being in a blue mercury store. I love how spacious and organized it is. I get very cautious walking into beauty stores with my background in the cosmetics industry (that's not to brag, it's just the truth that ties with in store experiences). I was given space to shop, meaning no one was over my shoulder constantly trying to sell me products (which I appreciate). The store is easy to navigate if your are looking for a specific category. As I was browsing, I was advised on how to tester out products. During these difficult times, it isn't obvious to many on how to be hygienic with testers, so I love that they educate their clients to keep it safe. I was helped by Reina/Reyna. She was super knowledgable on products she was suggesting to me. She even offered me samples of products I had my eyes on but wasn't ready to commit on purchasing. Even after knowing I work in the beauty industry, Reina never treated me differently. I will be honest, most places would assume that I think I am better than them. Reina did not make me feel like that at all. She even gave me samples of a makeup line I never heard of and exclusive to Bluemercury. At the end, I know that I didn't have to make a purchase, but I did because of the service I received. I look forward to visiting the other locations in the bay area. This review is for Reina. Horrible guest service, no product knowledge. So uncomfortable being in there. I felt like I was bothering her break. Very not friendly, rude and passive aggressive. First time I see like this service in Bluemercury. I been few times in this location and it's always empty. Now I understand why. All another location have excellent and very friendly customer service. Accept this one. Bluemercury need to do something about this. I really really like this store!! I have shopped there twice now and both times I received excellent customer service by knowledgeable and happy employees. The store is in the Ice Blocks right next to Anthropologie and West Elm. They have super high end cosmetics (think Chantecaille) and they also have Nest candles. There are perfumes and hair products too. The entire store is so bright and clean and sparkly. Has a great, modern vibe that feels fresh. There are tons of samples to try and they have stations with makeup rounds, swabs, tissues, etc so you can be hygenic too. They gave me free samples of products both times. I wish I could afford to buy all the things here!! Check it out for sure if you're a makeup/skincare junkie like me. read more

What a massively positive experience. My eyebrows turned blond sometime over the years, and my stylist pointed out that with color face would regain some definition it lacked. I stopped at this shop, and Reyna is AMAZING. She took time to show me options and how to apply brow gel. I can't say enough how positive this experience was for me. The store is clean. Only 7 people are allowed in the store at once. Apple Pay and card payments: Bluemercury takes Apple Pay and card payments. No cash is taken at the time. Friendly, helpful staff: When I walk into a makeup store, many questions arise. Should I go matte or glossy, tinted moisturizer or foundation. I just cannot seem to MAKEUP my mind. On a serious note, the staff at this Bluemercury location were more than happy to help me with makeup basics in a simple, professional manner, which I greatly appreciate. Lovely store: Located in Midtown Sacramento near Philz Coffee, Shake Shack and Safeway, Bluemercury is a great addition to the neighborhood. I have bought some moisturizers and lipsticks at Bluemercury stores in San Francisco and New Haven which made my skin feel amazing!! During my trip in December to the Midtown Sacramento Bluemercury, I bought the Hourglass foundation, Lune+Aster bronzer and cheek palette and brushes, all of which I have been having a lot of fun using and experimenting. Lovely store and very friendly staff. The store was very clean, quiet and high end. It is a nice alternative to Sephora and Ulta however, they are lacking in selection when it comes to cosmetics. It has more skin and hair products than cosmetics. I was hoping they would have many of the cosmetic brands in store that they have online but they only had around 9 brands. They were Chantecaille, Laura Mercier, Trish McEvoy, Lune+Aster (their brand), Hourglass, Kjaer Weiss and a couple of lesser known brands. I was so disappointed in this store. I was followed around as if i was a criminal. I asked them to observe the 6 foot distancing requirement and the young Asian clerk became enraged and stood more closely. She uttered profanities under her breath but easily heard by all those nearby. They are over priced and have no customer service. STAY AWAY. read more
