We have gone months without receiving any bills, then will suddenly be notified that my allergy shots cannot be mixed because we owe several hundred dollars. The clinic itself cannot see the billing service's records, and the billing service cannot see the clinics records (according to the office staff). The result is that the patient is left with no real way of navigating what they owe, whom they owe it to, and no recourse when a questionable claim is made by either the clinic or the billing service that money is owed. Finally, we resorted to paying for my child's visit up front so that we wouldn't have to deal with the headache later on. We paid several hundred dollars in the office, only to later receive a bill for that same visit from the billing service. The clinic could provide no insight as to why this might have happened or whether we, in fact, actually did owe the money in question. It's a shame that the quality of care, which has been largely satisfactory, is outweighed so heavily by the awful experiences we've had with the clinic on the financial end of things. According to the office staff, mine is not an isolated case, and other patients have had frequent issues with the billing service. I don't know if they've complained or explored going with another service to provide a better patient experience. In any case, I plan on moving on to another allergist soon.

We got up and drove to an appointment only to get an email saying they canceled us 20 minutes after the appointment time. I also manage a business so I got out of bed long before work time to decide whether or not to cancel due to inclement weather. I did not want my clients to drive to the office only to find out that we were closed. It takes very little effort to put an announcement on your website and shows your clientele that you understand that their time is valuable. This complete lack of respect for patients is a clear sign that the organization is poorly managed. Apparently, this group is still of the old school opinion that only the doctor's time matters. They sure don't mind telling you that you must give them due time and notice if you need to cancel or you will be charged for an appointment. Patheti!

    I have had an appointment scheduled at Family Allergy & Asthma for quite some time now. I drove two…read morehours last night for my scheduled appointment at 8:30 AM the following day. I was told to be at the office fifteen minutes prior to my appointment, so at 8:15 AM, I was there. After waiting until 8:40 (ten minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment), I received a text saying my appointment has been canceled due to incoming weather. Having sacrificed my time and taken a day from work, I am appalled by this office's unprofessionalism.
