What a lovely bakery in Acomb! Visiting from America, and it's been a few years since we've been to York. Last time I was here, this cute shop wasn't, so it's nice to see a fresh new addition to the area.
It's quite a large space - open and airy with high ceilings and plenty of hanging plants, making for an enjoyable atmosphere. There's lots of seating, both indoors and out on their front patio lined with colorful flowers. We chose to sit outside on this nice, sunny morning. But first we ordered at their front counter. Here you'll find a few large glass cases displaying lots of baked goods. Savory tarts, danishes, fresh breads, and small sandwiches. We came for coffee, but couldn't resist a little bite once we saw what was on offer. Opting for the goat cheese, tomato and basil tart, they quickly warmed it for us and delivered it out to our table. Along with it came our big cups of tasty coffee; an oat milk latte for me and a cappuccino for my husband.
Everything was enjoyable! Our 10-month old was definitely a fan of the flaky pastry, as were we. I would look forward to returning here again before we head back home, and on our future visits to York. read more
