We knew he specifically needed to be in a memory care unit, and we are so thankful that Harbor Heights was able to take him in so quickly once it became clear that we needed to find a facility as soon as possible. After comparing several options, we chose Harbor Heights because of the amount of staff that spoke Korean and would be able to communicate with our dad, and because the facility seemed to be better run and cleaner than several of the others we considered. Though his stay was ultimately very brief before he passed away, we are so thankful to the staff here for caring for him and helping our family through this extremely difficult and emotional time. He didn't have to answer my call especially while he was driving but he did. He didn't have to volunteer any extra and tremendously helpful information but he did. He didn't have to spend 26 minutes on the phone with me patiently explaining information but he did! After that call, I felt like I talked to an angel; I felt so blessed! The house and interior seems newly renovated and well maintained. It is aesthetically pleasing with modern colors and decor. The rooms are personalized with each residents personal photos and memorabilia to make it their "home." What makes this place so wonderful is the caring/loving owner, manager and staff. Ruth the owner is very down to earth and has a very hands on approach involving resident care and safety. Most owners of these board and cares don't visit the place and just have someone manage it. Ruth is not so, I see her frequently at the house bringing goodies in for residents, checking in to ensure her staff are ok and any concerns are addressed. I work mostly with Kim (manager), Theresa and Courtney (care staff). Kim is sweet, caring, involved with patient care and safety and always there to support her staff. Despite of crazy days and chaos she encounters, she never brings it to work and always has a smile on her face. She goes above and beyond to ensure her residents are not just clients but family. She truly cares for her residents and that is the heart of this field. Theresa is always so gentle and patient with my little lady there. Courtney is fairly new to the house but she is also very sweet and friendly with the residents. This place has a lot of different activities to keep their residents entertained, minds active and improve quality of life. If you are looking for a place for your loved one and budget allows, I would highly recommend this place.

After a bad fall in January of 2021, which resulted in an extended hospital stay, and time in a…read morenursing home in Torrance (which was not a good one!), I finally arranged to move my dad into this wonderful house in Anaheim. From the first phone call, Kathrina was extremely helpful. She assisted me with everything needed to get my dad moved in; including the transfer from the nursing home to their house, all the paperwork and logistics. My dad's mood and enthusiasm improved immediately. They provided everything he needed, including his own room, physical therapy, food, a full time staff, and doctor care. It was such a relief knowing my dad was in such good and caring hands. And the cost was more than fair, especially considering everything they were doing. My dad celebrated his 84th birthday there, and Kathrina threw a little party for him, with cake and even gifts! It was wonderful. She always made him feel at home, and kept me informed of his condition, responding to my texts or calls right away. Unfortunately my dad never really got his strength back, and passed away on April 5th. But Kathrina arranged for hospice care and transportation to the funeral home. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It felt like she was an angel watching over him during his stay, which gave me and my sister great comfort. The service provided by La Palma Home Care and Kathrina was absolutely amazing. If I could give 10 stars I would.

My Mom was admitted at Ardent Care on July 14, 2022. And I must say, this has been one of the best…read moredecisions that we've made for her and our family. There were several that were listed at "A Place for Mom". I toured several facilities in Orange County to find the best place for my Mom. Some of them were old, dark and then there were some that were on the higher-end that offered some really nice amenities and beautiful property but just way out of our budget. While doing my facility tours, I met a lovely young woman at a higher-end property who helped me a great ton in understanding & navigating this new life with dementia that my Mom, myself and the rest of my family now have to deal with. This woman was the one who ended up giving me 4 options and Ardent Care was the best one of the 4 (based on the condition and cleanliness of the property). Ardent was not far from the first property we toured. I walked in and asked a staff member if it was possible to do a tour of Ardent Care with my brother and my Mom. The wonderful staff member Alex was the one who accommodated our request. Alex was full of positive energy from the very start. I can tell she had passion for her job and compassion for their residents. Keep in mind our tour was unannounced to the Ardent staff (which meant they didn't have a chance to make sure the property looked pristine before showing us around). As we walked in, the lobby was nice and clean all through out when we were taken to the hallways and in each room and common areas (activities, dining, available room for a new resident). The condition of the property, the energy of the staff and the residents that we got to see/meet briefly made us think and feel that - THIS could be the one that is perfect for Mom. The previous tours we've done - I can tell from my Mom's body language that she did not want to live there. However, at Ardent Care - when she was introduced to the residents while we were touring the place, Mom played piano and said hello to the group so we took that as a great sign. It is now middle of October and almost 3 months since my Mom moved in. She has gained weight, has made friends and overall she looks good and younger compared to 6 months ago when she was staying at a SNF. To be fair, the staff at the SNF were really good to her, but the overall environment here and the activities at Ardent was what my Mom needed. The med tech staff are all experienced and they have been working here for a few years. My bro and I take turns in visiting a few times per week. There were a couple of times I've heard conversations between a visiting nurse with a med tech and they know the resident's history well and I can tell they really care. Great job to the whole staff who care for the residents - Alex, Fabiola, Jocelyn, Mabel, Brandy, Renee & Debbie. Thank you for all that you do for my Mom and the residents who depend on you!!!
