Forum is a relatively new-to-me venue in Columbus. I've been twice, both for music. One was for a…read morehouse show and the other was for a monthly R&B night with local DJs. Both times, I had a great time! The entrance is in the ally and when you walk through the doors the space looks much bigger than it does from outside. Right away you see a giant dance floor, and that there are two levels. There's a bar on the balcony and downstairs. Both have been easy to access and the bartenders were quick to serve. The music was on point during both of my visits as well. I really liked that I could go from being in the middle of the dance floor to chilling on the balcony overlooking the show from giant comfy chairs. I definitely know I'll be back for the monthly R&B night (HIPS) and I'll keep an eye out for other artists.

There is an elevated DJ booth with visuals projected on a back wall, an ample dance floor, and a bar downstairs. There are two staircases that lead to an overhanging balcony which provides a pretty epic view of the downstairs--- perfect for a breaking battle. I didn't drink while I was there during this day time event so I can't confirm how they are or how it feels for a show at night, but I really enjoyed my visit and I would definitely come back.

I wanted to try something different and landed on Palmas. There were a lot of good options here,…read morebut I ended up ordering a burrito. I also ordered some fried plantains, an order of guacamole, churros, and their gluten-free little cornmeal macarons (the latter individually wrapped to respect those with strong gluten allergies). When it arrived (ordered via UberEats) I was amazed by the size and quantity of the food. The burrito was massive! I was quite hungry when I ordered it but couldn't eat more than half of it (had it the next day, talk about cost-efficient). The fried plantains also had my heat. Simple, not too greasy, tasty, and still warm when I received them. The churros were also great, I love the chocolate and lèche dips they had for them. Just crispy enough on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The gluten-free macarons were also sweet and tasty. The only complaint I have on the order was that there were no chips included in the guacamole order. I was a little confused on that because their picture included chips but the description didn't, but there was no option to purchase chips separately either. That's the one drawback, but honestly it's so small in comparison to how tasty everything else was. I can't wait to go back.

Palmas is always a great time! We don't have a ton of dancing clubs in Columbus but this is one of…read morethem. The DJ is usually pretty good, security, and bartenders are all nice as well. It's not a huge space so it can get really crowded and very very hot. The thing with Palmas is that it doesn't start to get busy until around midnight so if you get there any earlier, there won't be many people and not a ton of people dancing.
