So, I've lived in Levenshulme for nearly a year and this is my first ever (finally!!) visit to…read moreThairish. I was quite surprised by the basic setup inside, but it's still a quaint little café/shop that offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and even Sunday roasts. The staff is very friendly, which adds to the neighborhood charm. Despite giving Thairish a 3-star rating, I will definitely go back. Although, now I feel I must explain myself for the rating. So here goes: A variety of meals for all sizes of appetite and times of day are available, however, the price tag for the breakfasts are a bit hefty. I paid £5.50 for the English breakfast (tea or coffee plus 1 egg, 2 bacon, toast, tomato, beans, mushrooms... and supposedly sausage, but apparently that's no longer included). That's definitely a lot of food, but I would expect it to be more along the lines of £4.00. Anyway, I AM going to try out their dinners, as a few items seem quite appealing. If they blow me away, I'll adjust my rating/review accordingly. I also really REALLY enjoy the break of Thairish as Stockport Road really just features takeaway after takeaway after takeaway. This is what bumped my rating from a two (for the price) to a three. Blergh. It's great, but I really need one more visit to seal any adjustment in rating. Thanks for reading my review!

Authentic Thai dishes and traditional Irish breakfast all in the same place. Locally owned and staffed this is as far from a generic chai as you can be and its clientele is levenshulme residents old and new . No cliques or cliches here. Handy for the station and the 192 / 168 / 197 bus services in and out of town and east /west to Chorlton or gorton . The manager and staff are friendly and there's free wifi and plug points. There's something for everyone here. From a traditional fry up to veggie options too. The transition from Isis to thairish is generally name only. It's also really close to levenshulme market. Recommended.

Or perhaps they don't need to and it is just a play pet project for the owners who also own Seamark (the building next door) Hulme is not a nice area and it really is an odd place to have a restuarant such as this, bit out the way and not a place I recommend for a nice stroll. The decor is great and they spent millions of pounds designing it, so you will certainly be in awe of the place. However the food is not so grand. It is by no means bad but come on!!!!! This is Manchester and as fellow yelpers would testify there is a massive choice for diners and to be honest when it comes to food alone this place falls short of a few places I can think of. As I said the food is ok, and the place is well worth checking out once, but will you return there on a regular basis?? I think not. Oh, and I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to make this brochure that you can pick up on your way out, but it did make me cringe. Awful design and a blatantly staged picture with a rather lairy looking Ryan Giggs with an accompanying caption which read "regular customers" made me just think "school boy error!!!!!!!!" So perhaps its not so much the place, which is great, nor the food, which is not bad. It's just.... it seems the owner put a lot of time, effort and money into the place and left it for a bunch of monkeys to run... But hey I took me madre here on her birthday and she loved it. The ambiance of the place. So much so she didn't really care what the food was like. I imagine that sentiment is echoed quite alot..... So 3*s is about right me thinks...A-ok indeed fellow yelpeeps.. Yelp ya later aligator..

After the traditional Christmas food at great excess we've really been getting into our Asian food…read moresince then - and upping the ante in terms of hot, hot, hot! It's with this in mind that with nothing left in our cupboards, Thai was most definitely on the brain in terms of an appealing fill - and it really did hit the spot! I ordered takeout and it took about 15 mins to be ready for collection (they will start delivering from end of Jan 2015 supposedly) and you get 10% off the price of food when taking away. The beef thai green curry was tasty if not as hot and spicy as I was hoping for (it did class itself as hot on the menu so I was expecting a real rip snorter as they say in cricket) and the vermicelli king prawn dish was tasty if not quite what we were expecting from the menu description (time to play spot a vegetable...) They threw in some thai prawn crackers (much better than Chinese ones) and in all 2 dishes and a portion of rice was £18 which was alright. Really hoping to get here again soon, maybe to eat in as there's seating for about 40. Friendly staff on the phone and the chef even brought out our takeaway which was a nice touch.
