I took a week to carefully review the agreement and submitted reasonable follow-up questions before committing to a significant financial expense. Instead of receiving answers to my questions, I was told the firm was now too busy to take my case. What made this experience particularly disappointing was the complete lack of communication in the interim. No one followed up to ask whether I intended to move forward, provide an update on my questions, or notify me that the firm was no longer available to represent me. After just one week, I was left to find out only after reaching out that they could no longer take my case. I understand that attorneys have to manage their caseloads, but the way this was handled was unprofessional and inconsiderate of a prospective client's time, especially when dealing with a time-sensitive custody matter. If the firm's availability had changed, a simple, timely communication would have gone a long way. Instead, the experience left me frustrated and questioning the firm's communication and professionalism.
