If you're looking for a great barber shop, this is your place. The vibe is happy: Lots of operators and every time I go, the place is buzzing with happy barbers and happy customers. The thing is, several of them are related to each other and the place has the feel of a family business welcoming family and friends. Marvin gives a tremendous old-school haircut. He takes his time, the way a great barber does, "reading" hair and head to figure out how to give a cut that looks great and requires little care. The place is great. read more

I will never go here again. I had to wait to write my review because I was SO upset and hurt by how I was treated when I went here. I took the 4 boys I nanny here to get their hair cut. The 6 year old I nanny has severe special needs. He definitely CANNOT wear a mask as he has several mouth and nose issues as well and needs to be reminded to swallow. When I walked in, the absolute rudest man started screaming at me about how I needed to get in control of my special needs child and how gross he is because he drools. The workers did nothing to help me, in fact the lady doing his hair told me I had to leave until I made my boy put a mask on. (The three other boys including myself all had masks on and were adhering to all guidelines.) I understand that a small special needs child drooling can be gross but I didn't need the whole store yelling at me and making me feel like garbage over a child who literally cannot wear a mask or understand the concept of them. His siblings were so embarrassed and angry that a business would discriminate against their own brother like that. I couldn't believe how he was treated and how every single employee stood by and let this man scream at a special needs child. Never coming back. Also the employees are terrible at cutting African American hair. I can't tell you enough to not come here. read more

I try not to be too harsh about things, but my one visit here was a nightmare. I went on a weekend around 12 and there was no one there. When I pulled up two of the staff were outside smoking right in front of the building. I'm not opposed to smoking, though I don't, but I feel like an employee at work shouldn't do it out in the open. When I walked past them, neither said hello or got up and they walked in shortly after I did. Then when they came in, NEITHER OF THEM WASHED THEIR HANDS! This is a business where your hands are going to be all over my head and face, I would appreciate the human decency of a handwash post cigarette. Next, they lady, who was tolerant of me at best (despite me being amiable and smiling), asked how I wanted my hair done. I responded with my classic, "Short, but not too short. I need to be able to do something with it." When I saw that my request didn't land, I said about an inch-an inch and a quarter. I was never asked about scissors or clippers and thus clippers, which I loathe, were used. Everything seemed alright until I caught a look and saw that, to my total disgust, she had cut my hair down to a QUARTER OF AN INCH. The staff here is dismissive, perhaps unsanitary, and they can't even perform a simple haircut. I try really hard not to be so negative, but I was EXTREMELY angry. This place is iffy depending on who you get. Westie is AMAZING but a few of the girls lack customer service skills. I brought my son in today and someone I'm unfamiliar with cut his hair. She pretty much just shaved the sides of his hair without asking what I wanted. I thought by saying I wanted it longer on top and shorter on the sides would give her a good place to start and she would ask questions as she went but I look up and that's not the case. I also loathe how employees will stand right at the front door smoking. Customers have to walk through that and even worse CUSTOMERS WITH KIDS!! read more

Not one of my favorite places. Haircuts have been only fair to acceptable. Staff aren't very accommodating. On more than one occasion I felt like I was there for them. Ha. And, don' t even think of this place in the afternoons unless you love to hear lots of screaming kids while the parents/guardian endlessly gossips with the staff while the reat of the hoard amuses themselves with whatever they can get into. I stopped going here because of the long waits and unsupervised kids. Go somewhere else if you are looking for a place where you can be in and out inside half an hour. read more

I have been coming to the Blue Ridge Barber shop for years now and have always left happy and refreshed! Rose does an excellent job cutting my hair! The staff make it very enjoyable everyone is nice they greet you with a smile and the price is great! I would recommend to anyone who wants a great haircut at a very good price! read more

They do mens hair very nicely. And we have never had to wait more than 10 minutes or so. I give it 4 stars because of the nice job to boys hair and for the cost. read more
