I was able to scope out the schedule and book my spot online (ahead of time)...and good thing I did. Having some "skin in the game" by reserving Ns paying ahead of time forced me to avoid sleeping in and skipping the 7am flow class! When I arrived at the really beautiful studio Kenzie greeted me and gave me a quick tour of the room, restrooms, cubbies, etc. Since I was from out of town I was able to borrow a mat for free but per updated signage it looks like mat rental now runs $2/day. There are towels for use as well as plenty of props and cleaners, so that's a plus. The studio itself is really lovely - modern yet warm with soaring ceilings. There were only three of us in the 7am class so I was able to both listen and watch well for all cues for the practice. Kenzie did a nice job leading the practice, keeping the music in line with the poses and ensuring that the intention stayed level throughout. I would absolutely come back to this studio and I certainly want to try some of their other classes too - aerial silks, cirque, etc!

I contacted Yoga Roots to ask for a partial refund or some other negotiated solution to this problem, and I included a letter from my doctor. It was also under the recommendation by my physical therapist that I avoid yoga. I needed to contact them a few times to get a response. They finally suggested that I wait until I was recovered and they could extend my pass. However, when I contacted them a while later about this, they--once again--did not respond. One would think that since I had been going to the studio for 7-8 years, that they would be more interested in resolving this issue, but it became obvious they were not. If you are considering them as your yoga studio, you may want to ask them what their policy is for unforeseen accidents and medical issues. You may also want to reflect on the ethics of a business you choose to support. Yoga Roots has some wonderful teachers, but because of my recent experience, I could never recommend them.

She holds the right of yoga for all to a high importance, even allowing those who may not typically be able to afford an expensive monthly membership ($90-$120/ month at a lot of studios near me) to still be able to participate. They all help to foster a beautiful sense of community as well. You will find that they are all concerned with both your growth as a yogi and your comfort throughout that journey. The support is very much appreciated. Though I have been practicing for almost 2 years, I find I learn something new in almost every class I attend! Thank you Hope for creating this beautiful environment for growth, friendship, fun, and personal discovery!

I attended an Easy Does It class with Jil Maggio and had a great experience. As someone with physical limitations, Jil made me very comfortable. Also, I thought it was such a nice touch to enter the room and have yoga props set-up already per every space. This is such a nice touch, especially when you are new and don't know what to take or expect. My only dislike: WHY NORTHFIELD!!! This is so far for me. But I will make the drive back here as I can!
