The moment we met with Katie we knew she would be perfect for us. At the time of our meeting with Gather Event my anxiety was high. I felt like I had nothing under control and wasn't sure how I was going to handle everything, but by the end of the meeting I felt much calmer and confident that Katie would make our day run perfectly. Through the entire process she was cool, calm, and collected. Her team made sure every detail was covered, thought about, and managed. They helped create our wedding timeline and made sure all vendors were aware of timing and facilitated those relationships from start to finish. I didn't have to think about much during the last couple of weeks before the wedding and what a gift that was; to be relaxed and confident before the big day! I am so thankful we decided to have Gather Event Planning be a part of our day. I received so many compliments on how smooth everything ran, and how perfectly calm the wedding atmosphere seemed. She is super dialed into the wedding industry and was able to easily rattle off recommendations for vendors that matched our style, wants and needs. I also found her to be very thoughtful, strategic, smart, and extremely calm, not to mention super experienced. And the proof is in the pudding -- if you look at photos of her events, they are so incredibly beautiful, put-together and stylish. We were originally supposed to be married in May 2020, and having to put off our marriage several times due to the pandemic was a huge disappointment. But Katie stuck by us through two rounds of rescheduling and helped us through it ALL. She understands events and the industry so well that even though the pandemic was uncharted territory for all of us, her knowledge and gut instincts saved us many times. She was always quick to answer emails and phone calls, and there was never a loose end on her watch -- she is so organized and focused. And we could always count on her to be super honest and transparent with her advice; if spending money on something added a lot of value or made a lot of sense, she would tell us, but she would also let us know where we could easily save money. I was happy with every one of her recommendations -- vendors, decor, paper goods, everything! I will also never forget the many examples of kindness and empathy that Katie showed us, including literally HOLDING a plate of cheese and fruit for me to eat from between photos on my wedding day! Her compassion and positive energy are honestly humbling. When we were planning our event with all these masking and safety restrictions, I was worried that after all this work and all these postponements, the resulting event was going to feel like a compromise. But our day was honestly perfect and stunningly beautiful, and a lot of the credit for that goes to Katie. I am forever grateful and would heartily recommend her to anyone planning an event.

She was with us every step of the way.....bringing creative ideas, recommending vendors who could best provide what my daughter wanted, managing the budget and plan to ensure we were making the best decisions. Most importantly, the wedding was spectacular! Whitney took care of everything and ensured it exceeded all expectations....DJ, catering, floral, lighting, linens, ceremony.....all were terrific. My daughter was over the moon and many guests talked about it being the best they had ever attended. Much of that credit goes to Whitney.....and she is a joy to work with. Having engaged Whitney from overseas, and having the added logistical complication of attempting to plan and coordinate the component wedding events via email, it's insufficient to say that Whitney managed to produce what turned out to be the perfect wedding. From planning through execution, the event was executed beautifully. Communication was excellent, any "hitches" were dealt with swiftly and with zero issues. All involved parties - and there were a LOT of us - were calmly managed by Whitney and because of that, we knew our roles to a "T". I don't know what her services cost but whatever they run, I've got to believe that they're worth it. For an event of this importance in your life, you can't go wrong working with Whitney.

The interior was well maintained. It had a very welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, and was everything we were looking for. As nice as the venue itself was, the thing that put it over the top was the Manager Maria. When we were originally looking at the venue she answered all our questions, and was quite accommodating with helping us find a decorator and a photographer ( we loved the people she suggested). We hired her as the event coordinator for our wedding, and every step of the way we were impressed with her professionalism. The day of the wedding was a breeze because of her. Cedarville Lodge is a beautiful venue, but unfortunately, the management and lack of on-site…read moresupport made our experience far less desirable than we had anticipated. We hosted our annual gala here and were informed just three days before the event that we would not be able to access the venue for a rehearsal, despite previously being told that access the night before would most likely be possible. We were also notified just days before the event that the sound room would be locked and inaccessible. Given the number of planned stage presentations, including videos, dances, and speakers, the lack of rehearsal time and access to the sound equipment created significant challenges. We ultimately had to make last-minute adjustments and rely on a friend to bring and set up an entire sound system, which thankfully saved the evening. Additionally, the projector did not work, and when I finally reached someone by phone for assistance, I was told that no one was available to help. After paying a substantial rental fee, having no on-site support available throughout our event was unacceptable. The person who let us into the venue did not even take the time to speak with us before leaving. We understood in advance that the rental included only the venue itself, with no dishes, tablecloths, serving utensils, or other event supplies. However, given the price, we expected the equipment provided to function properly and someone to be available if problems arose. Unfortunately, the unreliable internet connection also prevented our computers from working properly, adding to the difficulties. While Cedarville Lodge itself is a wonderful space, the lack of communication, last-minute changes, technical issues, and absence of support significantly detracted from our experience. A beautiful venue is only part of what makes an event successful; reliable equipment, clear communication, and accessible support are equally important. Based on our experience, these are areas where Cedarville Lodge needs considerable improvement.
