I DO NIT RECOMMEND!!! No one wears gloves(until they do a "scrub"). In my pedicure this lady tried to peel off my gel polish with USED cuticle trimmers. I had to ask for her to use acetone. Then she used a hand file instead of a drill. NO CLEAN TOOLS!! They reuse tools from the last customer and sprays them with acetone to say "clean", The sugar scrub was very gross, there was no sugar in it just let sit on my legs until completely dry didn't rinse my legs. She waited til last minute to use a drill on my toes. The floor is nasty with toenail clippings and peeled old polish everywhere. The lady giving me a pedicure kept getting up and leaving. When I had enough because I don't want an infection from used tools they told me to calm down and let finish. She continued my "pedicure" and asked "oh bad week" like they didn't understand why I'm upset and want to leave. They won't let me get up and leave. I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

10/10!!! I started coming to this salon with my sister-in-law as we both recently moved up the hill with our spouses. Is previously never had false nails. I've now had my nails done a few times (originally a full set then fills). I've had Amy, Kim, Tom and now Laura (work pictured) do my nails. I've always left extremely happy and they are so kind. The first time I went here, a man did my nails. He was awesome, asked good questions and did a wonderful job. So I came back of course. That was a mistake. A lady did my nails. Not only did the nails look terrible, but she cut 3 of my fingers while filing which left tiny scars on my fingers. Mind you this was months ago. The nails themselves..... crooked, the plastic nail she got to my thumbs were too small and the acrylic was messy. I will not be going back. I want consistency in my nail salon. I don't want to have to guess if my nails are going to look good or not. read more

I choose the $50 pedicure with red gel polish and overall my pedicure was good, lady was so sweet :)). Nice for a relaxing toes day, but I would not recommend coming here for nails though. they asked if I wanted my nails done and I made the mistake for saying yes. I asked for only a little gel to match my feet since I was on a budget no acrylics. My nails are already chipping, the base is NOT smooth (bubbly), and I just feel it doesn't look the prettiest. Sadly this place is terrible. They do not sanitize their tools, I saw a piece of skin hanging off the tool she was about to use on my nails and so I asked her if she could get me a fresh set of tools that were clean. She apparently took offense to that because she spent the next 45 minutes flopping my feet around in a frustrated impatient manner. It was very uncomfortable and awkward, all because I didn't want her dirty tools used on me. Crazy! I spent that 45 minutes trying to talk myself down from going off on her and decided she must be having a bad day. So in the end I tried to kill her with kindness and gave her a 50% tip, and instead of a thank you or a smile she yanked it out of my hand and turned around and walked the other way. So unbelievably rude. I go up there nearly every weekend but would never set foot in there again no matter how desperate I was. read more

After choosing the $30 pedi, my young pregnant lady seemed perturbed. (I could only afford the basic). Got through it without one word to me-which made me feel so unwelcome. And instead of letting me sit there for a few to let nails dry-she placed my sandals on (with cotton between my toes) and showed me to the pymt counter. I told her I didn't have cash after she again seemed almost mad at me for not having cash. I left there knowing I would never return (a pedi always makes me feel good/happy). After trying to remove the content shortly after leaving, one toe smeared : ( and though I didn't want to go back, I made myself go. Upon entering the facility, same lady yells "what happened"? I calmly explained to her that, was I offered more dry time in her chair, this may not have happened. But before I finished speaking, she immediately blames me. I've gone to Blue Jay Nails for pedicures a few times. The first few times were fine. But the last two times have been awful. I now have a toe nail infection and my toe nail is coming off. I'be had 3 experiences at this place. 2 out of the 3 have been very negative. The most recent: I went in for Fills (after really liking my Full Set 2 weeks ago) but I got a different nail person for Fills. She butchered my nails! They are so short and look so silly. It looks like I have cheap press on nails. Not to mention: she made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Every time I even glanced down at my hands, ahe would scoff at me and ask: " What wrong? What wrong?" With a scowl. This happened throughout the appointment probably 4 or 5 times. I had to explain to her: I'm just looking down at my hands. But, I literally glued my eyes to the TV in the back of the room to avoid this uncomfortable exchange when looking at my own hands! I wish I didn't though because when it was all done, my nails were SO short. Like, not much beyond my finger tip! And then she had the audacity to charge me an additional $3 for "nail cut down" which I did not ask for! I shouldn't have gone back after my first bad experience but I have then another shot. Although my 2nd experience was fine.. there are too many untrained and possibly not licensed nail "techs" there to keep any type of good consistency. I'd drive down the mountain before going back here and wasting money. read more

I wanted something simple. An overlay as my nails are eggshell/ thin. But I like them to look natural and not thick. So I asked for the overlay to be thinner a few times and the young woman who did them got an attitude, and told me to just get a regular manicure . The overlay is very thick and uneven. There were humps and annoying uneven edges. I went back to give the woman an opportunity to fix this and she gave me attitude yet again. And drilled right over my cuticle causing them to snag and bleed. As a local and state board licensed pro, I really wanted to support this place. But morally, I can't. This is why most of us continue to go down the hill. The practices up here are rather dated and it seems as though not everyone is interested in the art or customer service. Also, there are no liners in the pedicure tubs and I've noticed that they use the same pumice stone, buffer, and nail files on people with nail dust and debris still visible on the tools. Mother's Day gift RUINED!!!!! What she asked for vs what she got. After 3 toes painted, she stop the tech and told her it was the wrong color. The tech said it would be an extra cost to fix it. I went in with a friend. Was told to come on in that there was time for 2 of us . Got there was seated then asked to get a polish . Got up to pick one out and someone else was already in the pedicure chair I was just in . OK.... then finally was taken back a pedicure was started on me while my friend sat in a pedicure chair no water no nothing ! Usually when two are coming in they get their service done at the same time . Nope ... as she continued my pedicure my friend and I talked .. then she moved onto my manicure . Did not do a second coat of polish on toes then slapped on a clear poorly and I had polish on my skin I asked if she could remove. Poor job painting over all . The color I picked out for my nails I guess was past it's prime but she continued to use it and it was clumpy and a mess my granddaughter could do better ! So I had her remove it . She was going to leave it that way if I said nothing . It was a joke . So then she just buffed and shined my nails. That wasn't so bad after all . But over all a horrible experience. I was told my nails are too small to have polish on them . Ok.. well how about all the years I have beengetting my nails done and haven't had a problem with them being painted properly ! ? I had to go home and fix up what she was unable to or unwilling to do properly. No attention to detail ! My polish on my toes is already chipping ! Done on a Friday and it's only Monday!!! Zero stars. The first time I came in, a man helped me out. I told him I wanted dip nails but with French tip using gel. He proceeded to give me acrylic nails instead . I wasn't familiar with dip nails yet so I thought it was dip but got suspicious when there was no dipping of the nail whatsoever. I asked for a rounded shape to my nail. he glued on the fake nail tips, put on the acrylic and started filing down the nail to a square. When he filed my nails, it was so uncomfortable because it kept tugging and pulling on my real nail. I feel like he should have filed the fake nail into the shape, then put the acrylic??? I also told him several times that I wanted round nails and he said no, square is better because it's better for work. ??? I'm paying you, I should have a say in what I want????. I kept on insisting round nails so he finally did it partially round. It looked like square nails with rounded edges so I guess it was better than nothing. I figured he was having a bad day so I gave it another chance. I came back a second time and the same guy greeted me. I said I just needed my fake nails removed and my real nails cleaned up. He just stared at me and started talking to his co-worker while staring at me. So I sat down and waited, I took my phone out and started looking at it because he was still talking to the lady. As soon as I took my phone out, he said "Hello! You! over here, over here!" as he pointed to a chair. By this point I was so irritated. I looked at him to acknowledge that I see him waving his hands at me and saying "Hello! Hello!" as if I'm blind and deaf. I started putting my phone back in my purse and he just kept on saying "Hello! Hello! You! Over here! over here" I see you, I've made eye contact with you, I can hear you, give me a second to walk over there! It wasn't a nice "hello" it was a hello that sounded annoyed, like a "hello" with a question mark at the end like "Hello?can you not hear me talking to you?" I have a pretty high tolerance for rude behavior but this was off the charts. Most salons nail salons come off as rude but I understand that it's a cultural thing. This guy though was insanely rude. I walked out and found a different nail salon down the mountain. You would think that a nail salon that has the potential to monopolize a whole mountain town would be nicer to their customers. I live up here so it says a lot when I'd rather inconvenience myself to go all the way down the mountain just to get my nails done. I'm not picky with how my nails are done so I let a lot of things slide so that's also saying a lot. Never again. The only man that works there has single handedly lost that nail salon $60+ month from me not going there. Good job dude. read more

Went in to ask for a nail design I really wanted for awhile now. Basic acrylics with colored tips in the shape of a heart. When I got inside and showed them what I wanted, they immediately looked as though I was crazy and started fluctuating pricing because it was "too complicated" for them. I actually had to switch nail techs too because of it. The woman who eventually did my nails was frustrated the entire time as she painted away. Obviously it made me uncomfortable because I could tell she didn't want to do what I asked. So instead of getting what I wanted I stayed with a basic design. The woman felt bad and added a stripe and heart design but I was over it at that point. I wanted it to be over. I posted the finished product. Don't recommend going at all read more

And gel polish was left on skin. Lady who did my nails stopped in the middle to wax someones eyebrows...Plus I've never paid so much for a gel mani and pedi. $76! Very disappointed! I want a refund. I feel taken advantage of. I look young, like I'm 18, but I'm not; I'm in my thirties.so I have been around the block a few timesaver. First, I got in at 415 and left by 450 I was quite and was rushed out the door. Never have I had that short of a nail appointment. I paid 66 bucks for a complete set and pedicure with normal polish. Just like all the employees here I work my ass off to be able to do special things like my nails once in awhile. Well it's been about six months and I was looking forward to treating myself. My toes aren't bad but barley we're touched. There is still dirt in my toe cuticles so right there tells you they didn't clean or cut them. There is paint all along my nail bed on my toes. She was done in 20 minutes maybe less. But she did have a nice friendly attitude. The young girl doing my nails so so very rude. She tried to tell me what length I had to have my nails for a certain look. Once again iv been getting my nails done since 15 and I'm in my thirtieth twice a month for many years so I'm not new. After she blows me off I just tried to be nice and chat more in hopes she sees I'm friendly an can be nice. With no give she kept her attitude. Once it got close to end after filing my nails she grabs clear nail polish and starts coating them and then grabs the blue light for cure. As I put my nails in I can see all the dust glowing and all the specs in my nails I ask her are these going to come off since you didn't clean the dust off after filing them. She said when I'm don't I will use alcohol to clean them off and they will be fine. She cured and cleaned them still full of dust and specs she says I don't see anything... go wash your hands then. I told her it's cured into the polish. They blew me off . First and last time customer. You ladies aren't too smart. 61x2 a month X 12 months.... That's a big loss from one customer on such a small mountain. Hope to hear back and you guys make this right! Customer service is the job you choose. Do better! read more

- [ ] Say.. . ..IF a person goes to the SAME nail technician for OVER 2 Years.. in that same breath, said person tells the nail technician that said person's daughter is to be married and said person tells nail technician exactly what she wants. Said technician said she "can do". Said person brings in the color wanted for nails and toes. Back story for information purposes. For the past 8 months or so, every time I leave my cuticles bleed because of Dremel contact. Said person had a pedicure with gel, and was told it would last three weeks. It lasted three days. The gel peeled off my acrylic too. I have dated photographs. Photographs are how I went to my daughter's wedding with my fingernails. If I request a new set be long, I'm reprimanded if there's a crack to be fixed. Don't get me started on how said technician fixes her mistakes. It's almost nonexistent. If I have them done short and they break, I'm reprimanded! I'm over it. My question is, am I the asshole for bringing this to the Public's attention? Or is it caveat emptor? I'm just so fed up with shawty work from people. By the way, I always tipped 20% or better.! Wonder if her pocketbook will notice my exit! Then there's the waxing! Had my legs axed. Or NOT!!! Paid for a lower leg wax and probably 45% was missed. When I went down to ambience in The Claremont Club, the lady told me I should have asked for my money back. read more
