H&M seems to have high quality stuff at very reasonable prices. One time I managed to get a nice dress shirt and pair of khakis for £10 total! As it is getting colder and I was shedding some old clothes, I decided to visit the H&M in Wood Green. They had a very large Men's section and a large assortment of different type of clothing. I ended up finding a couple long sleeve shirts and a nice jumper to replace a worn out and ageing one. My experience was good, with the exception of the cashiers who were very slow and at one point there was only one with about 10 or so people in the queue.

They have an extensive selection of shirts, patterns with collar choices & an easy to navigate website. In addition to the shirts what really impressed me was the service. Calls were answered promptly and the agents were knowledgeable and helpful. I made a mistake on size for one of my shirts. No problem as they just made their return/exchange process much easier (& it was). The Classic fit is close to what I'm used to here in the states and I would say ran slightly smaller which was fine with me as at times the shirts from other retailers can be baggy which CT's weren't (without having to go to slim fit). I've found my new go-to for dress and casual shirts and look forward to visiting a store on my next UK trip!

Basildon's Jane Norman is not very big and gets very busy. This does make it hard when looking around. The changing rooms are a nice size with plenty of hooks for your clothes. If you are buying clothes in the sale you dont get a month to decide if you are going to keep your purchase, so I always try sale clothes on before buying.

I am reviewing the ladies store but they have a mens store aswell. In the ladies they sell bags and shoes as well. A lot of the products they sell cannot be founf anywhere else in lakeside. The staff are really pleasant and always look really smart. I love the carrier bags because they are very posh, you have to buy something though unfrtnately. You can get most designer ranges in here and they do have sales although it still dont make things cheap.

Yes, Cordings is not a bargain-basement store. However, if one waits for a sale, he (I have no…read moredirect experience of women's clothing) can find some true bargains, if he takes quality into account. I have purchased two pairs of trousers and one shirt on sale, and the price is only slightly higher, if at all, than what I'd pay for a comparable garment in the U.S. and the word "comparable" is key, because many of the items Cordings carries are not readily available in the states. The trousers I bought are the zip-front chinos, and I could not find chinos in such a wide array of colors anywhere, and when the garments arrived and I opened the package, the colors were even more vibrant than they appeared to me on line, and the quality of construction and fabric was superior to name-brand but cheaper chinos I've purchased in the states Delivery was even more rapid than promised. With my shirt purchase I was able to find very similar shirts elsewhere, but only in G.B., and, again, especially once VAT was deducted, the sale price was actually slightly lower than elsewhere. I had one small problem with an item I'd ordered being out of stock, because I'd procrastinated too long to make up my mind about buying, but Cordings' staff resolved the problem very rapidly and cordially. The one issue I might have with Cordings is that their shipping fees to the states are the highest I've encountered, but I chalk this up to the type of business they appear to run. I figure they're charging the true cost of what it costs them to provide an on-line shopping service, since I can't imagine T.M. Lewin, Charles Tyrwhitt, or Hawes and Curtis are charging what it really costs them. "Enough!" you say. I do tend to go on and on when I like a place. My only regrets are that it's unlikely I'll be able to shop in-store in anything like the near future and that my budget for buying ANYWHERE has shrunk much lower than I'd like, but then, that makes purchasing quality clothing even more important.
