I first used Blue Horizons a year ago when I received my Open Water dive cert with my mother for my 21st birthday. I had a great experience and found the class very enjoyable. The part that impressed me however was the way that they and their instructors handle student who had issues. I am a very protective person and while doing some of our skills on the platforms at 25 feet. My mom started to panic after her regulator removal drill and the instructors comely switched dive buddys with her and then got her to the surface. When I later talked to her about it, she told me about how Mike, one of the instructors, helped her calm down and took it one step further and shared personal experiences troubles he has experienced while learning. I know this helped her cope and regain the confidence to finish her certification course. I feel like this is one of the most important things we experienced. As for the dive shop itself, they have helped me get started on the road to diving more frequently. They got me started with the basic stuff and did push any gear on me that would be a waste of money for someone who might not continue with the sport. After I completed my Advance cert this past June, and I wanted to purchase a BC, the Mike help me select the right size, double checking with other staff in the store to get their opinion on how it fit my body type. The level of person service, especially remembering my name after a year between stops at the shop, make these guys the bar every other shop since has been measured against. read more

I can't say enough good things about these people. Blue Horizons is just the best. Period. I've been dealing with the folks at Blue Ho for over 15 years and I will continue to use them for my and my families dive training, dive travel, and dive gear needs moving forward. They're professional, personable, and very experienced. There is zero debate over whether they run the best training programs this side of the Mississippi - hands down they do. I logical question to ask is whether or not to buy gear from a shop like Blue Ho, or just try to find it online. Like with most activities, sure you can buy merchandise for less money online then you can in a store, but how do you know what you're really buying, and what do you do when it breaks and you need to get it serviced? When you form a relationship with a dive center like Blue Ho , you gain the ability to leverage that shop's years of collective experience and relationships when doing your training, and when deciding what gear is right for you and which dive destinations are a best fit for your experience level and particular interests. And the owners, Chris and Kelly Donnelly, are just great people. They're passionate about diving and they've instilled that passion in their team. I stopped into Blue Horizons as a novice before a snorkeling trip. They were so incredibly helpful finding me the right gear and teaching me some basics about the gear! At no point did I feel pressured to buy anything or felt that I was oversold on a product. Rather, they set me up with everything I needed for snorkeling and pointed me in the right direction to find other things on my checklist for the hiking portion of my trip. Wound up spending at least 20 minutes talking about ship wrecks and octopus with the owner, which was a delight. You can tell these guys are all passionate about what they do and it really shows in their customer service and knowledge! Blue Horizons is an awesome dive shop with a terrific set of dive professionals running it. Whether you are brand new and wanting to discover scuba, an experienced diver looking for additional training, supplies or a trip to go on, or an experienced tec diver looking for advanced training and/or wrecks to visit they cover it all. I've done a number of trips both to the Caribbean and for local wreck diving where the group experience was terrific and the organization super. My wife has recently completed her OW certification with BH and the instructors helped her progress at her own pace until she was confident in her skills - very supportive. read more

I find Lisa M review hard to believe. Blue Horizons Dive Center gave me fantastic prices for an ala carte selection of dive equipment. The owners are a young couple who really went out of their way to accomodate me as I struggled to get through the classes pool and open water. Their instructors are caring, very knowledgeable and patient. I now have my open water certification and at age 56 will have my advanced open water certification by October 20, 2012. I have done all of my training through this shop. I started out just wanting to be a SCUBA diver, but progressed all the way to an instructor due to the great training staff. They also have some of the best store staff. If they don't stock something, they will work their hardest to get it for you. Great repair technicians as well. I won't get by gear serviced by anyone else. I started going here when they were located in Philly, but it is worth the drive to Glen Mills to deal with this shop! read more

I have used Blue Horizons for several years for regulator service. They always do an excellent job. When my regulators are retuned there is always a list of services performed, returned any parts replaced. I'm a tech diver, so back in a cave or 200' deep, my regulators have to work. read more
