I recently booked a massage at GR Massage Life after receiving a gift card. Where Massage Life…read morelacks in ambiance, they make up for in their high quality massage and customer service. It's less of the polished spa-like atmosphere and more mom + pop shop around the corner. I booked online and then called over the phone to ask a question about their hours. The phone call went to voicemail but I was immediately called back by Jason (who I booked with) letting me know he just saw that I had called. I asked him a few questions and he said he could already see my reservation for the following week. The place is located in an old building off Fulton. City parking is available on the street and there is a lot behind the building. Again, it's not a sparkly place but it gets the job done. What I do love about the location is that I didn't have to drive all the way out to 28th Street. Jason was very friendly and helpful. He had me sign a few forms (took 5 mins) and then showed me to one of their two rooms. It was clean, warm and relaxing. The massage was 55 mins long and Jason an excellent therapist. He used hot stones during a portion of the massage and I greatly appreciated the heated blanket.

I just got done going in for my first ever professional massage, and to be quite honest it was much…read moremore enjoyable and relaxing than I expected it to be. I had gone in because I was constantly feeling tightness in my shoulders and neck. Marina, the massage specialist who saw me, was very helpful in helping me understand just why the pains occurred in the first place, as well as giving me suggestions to help reduce the pains from occurring. She was very observant of my pain tolerance and not once did I feel I had to tell her that it was too much. Once the massage was done I was given a bottle of water, and I left with a smile on my face, as well as the free feeling movement of my neck and shoulders without a feeling of pain accompanying. I will definitely be booking future massages with Marina for future needs, as well as recommending her to my friends and family if they need a good massage.

A therapist (Laura) at Simply Massage rejected all future appointments because the tips provided…read morewere not to her liking. This was relayed to me when I went to book her a third time and had to call. They seemed to have blocked my ability to schedule online. Calling is the only method at this point. This is basically " cherry picking" the best tippers. I am a member, yet it doesn't seem to matter. You would not be refused service at a restaurant for your tip history, so nor should you at Simply Massage. It seems that maybe the help needs a wage increase as they emphasize tipping, leaving it up to the clients whom already pay $70 to $90/hour for servicing. However, it was also explained that the tip reason for rejection is supported by management, not just one therapist. I am weighing my future relationship with this company.

Massage Away is very comfortable, clean, and the staff are nice and professional. I had my massage with Zak, and he was wonderful! He listened to my requests to focus on my legs and lower back. Other places I've gone to the therapists haven't listened to that request at all. He spent a good amount of time on the knots in my calves, but also worked my arms and upper body just enough. I was very comfortable the whole time. I haven't been back yet, but my husband and I are both planning to schedule with them in the next couple of weeks. Last time I had a 60 minute massage, but their pricing is so reasonable I plan to try the 90 minute next time. If you are looking for a great massage, relaxing and therapeutic, definitely give them a try!
