After all Athletes finish, the Coach leads them in cleaning/sanitizing all equipment and putting it away, followed by a targeted cool down. Since COVID-19 hit, many of my friends, colleagues, and peers were worried about reentering a gym for fear of catching the virus or lack of cleanliness, but the Top Tier staff is working hard to ensure the safety of all Athletes who want to improve themselves.

The space is huge, clean, and beautiful with a lot of people who look like they know what they are doing, hence my intimidation. Who doesn't see a million posts from your CrossFitting friends talking about Fran, Isabelle, and…read moreDiane - and posting pictures of ripped open hands and busted up shins... - you probably roll your eyes and hide them after a few months... We've all been there - but just wait until you are the one that is hooked and can't wait to post your WOD results and share with all your Facebook friends around the World.... That's what happened to me. After researching CrossFit gyms for about a year I decided to go check Revamped out after seeing a post on Facebook. The other gyms in the area did not give me a good vibe when I called or emailed wanting some basic information. Everything was very straight forward and upfront, I emailed back and forth with Gary for a few days asking questions and getting information. Once I went, I was hooked! -and then I got my husband hooked! My son is even hooked, he started the Young Warriors program a few weeks ago. They have hours and memberships to fit everyone's needs. Gary is very knowledgeable and works with clients to scale workouts to accommodate for injuries (I've been nursing a lower back strain for about 3 weeks). If you are considering trying CrossFit, try Revamped. ***UPDATE*** It's been almost 5 months since I started at ReVamped, it has been amazing to see the gym grow and get 2 more coaches. Things did get a little crazy from a Living Social deal, but hey, it brings in new business, right :) Seeing a small business succeed in today's economy is rare, and ReVamped is succeeding and will be around for many years to come!! It is also nice to see coaches that practice what they preach, Gary recently won the Winter Warmer competition in Philadelphia, and Alea won the Crofton SuperFit in the Fall.

Patrick came off as really motivated and interested in helping me reach my fitness goals at first. After about a week, though, it felt like that interest disappeared. He seemed lazy and wasn't nearly as involved or helpful as he was in the beginning. As a beginner, I was expecting more coaching and guidance, not less. The one bright spot was Natalie. She was always willing to help, answer questions, and make sure people were taken care of. She genuinely cares, and honestly, I think she should be running the place because she does a much better job with members. Overall, I left feeling like they cared more about getting people to sign up than actually supporting them once they became members.

Whenever he talks, it comes across more like a salesman trying to sell his services than someone who's genuinely invested in helping people change their lives. I understand every business has to make money, but when you're working with people who are trying to improve their health and confidence, it should feel more personal. To me, it felt like he was more focused on getting as many members as possible than actually helping them succeed. Don't let the "we're beginner-friendly" pitch fool you. That wasn't my experience at all. If you're new to CrossFit and looking for a gym that's truly invested in teaching and supporting beginners, I'd skip this gym.

I was terrified to pick up a barbell, and in the intro class, you become familiar with the moves with a PVC pipe first. All of the coaches are amazing. They truly meet you where your fitness ability is and give you plenty of options to scale moves and weights to what you need. They also are really good about challenging you enough to get stronger. The classes are fun! They're hard, but you don't even mind when you are working out with people who are cheering you on and jamming out to the music with you. I've never met a better community of people to workout with. I genuinely look forward to going to the gym. There are plenty of times that work for any schedule and you have the option to go to open gym. It took me MONTHS to walk through their door, and I wish I did it sooner. Let me tell you, the coaches and members do not make this gym intimidating or closed off. I was so welcomed on my first day. Everyone cheers everyone on, no matter how small the win. It has major equipment one would need to reach their fitness goals. Huge value in a low cost: I've been a member of many of the larger gyms where you pay skyrocket prices, however I just don't need all of the extra services that those gyms offer, especially at the rates being offered. At this gym I use the free weights, boxing bags, battle ropes, pull up rope, core station, open mat area, basketball net, cardio equipment, showers, and sauna. It's an incredible value as I've found it to be under $40/month, and sometimes less if you pay for the year upfront or utilize their ongoing deals. 24 hour availability: A huge benefit is it being available 24 hours. I find this to be a peace of mind as I occasionally will need after hour access due to my limited schedule during the day. This is almost unheard at many other smaller gyms and at this rate. Quick facts: -Towels are provided (but can run out quickly during busy times), it may be a good idea to pack one as a backup just in case -Yoga mats are available for usage outside of class times -The basketball net is probably not for more serious players as the roof is low and some angles require a low shot or you'll hit the beams of the roof. Probably meant for just casual shooting around. -bring your own locks, the lockers don't have their own locks. -there are short and long lockers available, the long lockers are big enough to fit your gym bag most of the time -saunas are in each locker room, so no mixed gender saunas (a plus for those with religious sensitivities)
