Good luck ever getting a package you order. This apartment complex uses a system where packages do…read morenot come to your door but instead go to a package room and you were then sent a code to retrieve your package. This is nice in theory except it takes the workers days to process packages. As a college student who has things like textbooks and food that gets delivered it is pretty infuriating when 4 to 5 days goes by without your package and every time you walk past the clubhouse, the workers are sitting there with their feet up on the desk on their phones, surrounded by a sea of packages. I would understand it a little more if the job description entailed anything other than answering the phone and processing the packages. If you go to the front desk and ask, if you can have your package, they are condescending and rude and tell you what will be processed that day (which it will not be). I'd like to point out that this is my second year living here and this was not a problem last year and only started once new management took over. I'd recommend that the front desk employees shift not be over until all the packages are processed. If the business admin ends up reading this, I don't need this to be reconciled just process my damn packages.

The Met, while close to campus, bus stops, downtown stores, and restaurants it's interior is…read moreseriously lacking. Between the front door lock, internet problems, and awful elevators it's becoming very difficult to like living here. This will be my second year living here and while my first year wasn't too bad it's like living in a completely different building at this point. In the beginning of the year they had fire alarms going off almost every day for like 2 weeks, this year the internet has been really awful and unreliable, the security is a joke, and the elevators are extremely slow. It's literally pointless to have the lock on the front door. People come in and out all day and night and just let whoever in the building. And, on the chance there isn't someone by the door your friend, family member, or delivery driver is most likely stuck out in the cold or rain just waiting to get let in. Also, if you are able to get into the building (while you need a key to access the floors for the elevator to activate) if you take the stairs the door that separates the second floor from the rest of the building is always open. There's literally no security in this building and it's just an unnecessary pain to have to deal with that dumb door scan with your key. This internet single handedly almost made me miss handing in multiple assignments. I would have to take pictures of my assignments on my phone and email from my phone to my professors the picture of my assignment and an explanation that my apartments internet is down. It's just a very big inconvenience. If it's not one elevator breaking down then it's just the slow service but there is always something wrong with the elevators. I live on a higher level floor and there have been way too many times were I have had to run down the stairs to try to make it to class or a bus on time because the elevator will literally make you wait up for 3-5 minutes at times just to get on. If it wasn't for the location I would not recommend paying this price for an apartment in State College.

They just do what they want. It is really clear they do not care about their residents one bit. It is actually ashame, they have nice layouts and a good desing but they fall short in resident service and basic areas of hospitatily mangement. It is no wonder the place is so cheap nobody wants to live here. I am having a horrible experience. manager is also terrible, always seems bothered when you ask her a question or need something.

Absolutely disgusting. After moving out they had the audacity to send me a 300$ charge to my account for "damages" and also not giving me back my $150 security deposit along with the rest of my roommates. When I tell you the apartment was absolutely fine ( I have pictures to prove no damages) and they are just taking advantage of young college kids I mean it. Not to mention "Megan" who is in charge of delegating these so called damages will not answer your emails, calls, texts, or even see you in person. Absolutely do not waste your time renting here, there are many other buildings in state college that will ANSWER YOUR CALLS AND CONCERNS AND ARE ACTUALLY CLEAN. I will never be recommending this place to any underclassmen

The location and actual apartment are fine. Expensive, but fine…read more The management is the issue. While there were several problems, the main thing was fraudulent charges for damage fees. The apartment was in the same condition move in vs move out - actually, better condition on move out because it was clean. On move in, the apartment did NOT have new paint or any touch ups since two of the tenants had lived in the same unit the year prior, so they had left all their stuff hanging on the walls in the common areas. On move out, all 5 roommates received bills of nearly $1,000 each for damages that simply did not exist, and I very much doubt that the Legacy "fixed" anything. Charges claiming the floor was scratched when it was not (rug was on the floor in question all year) and claims of issues with the walls that would have simply been addressed by painting before the next group moved in. My advice - take videos of everything when you move in and have a move out inspection with the management.

When I moved in, it was obvious that the place had not been freshly painted as there was scuffs, marks, and paint peeling in spots along the walls and ceiling. It was not a huge deal to me but I made sure to report them on the inspection form they gave for me to fill out. That form did not matter as they charged me hundreds of dollars worth of damages to repaint. Wi-fi regularly had issues during my 3 years with just being too slow to stream TV or going out entirely. Other student apartments on Toftrees did not have this issue. If you need reliable internet for school work, do not live here. Wi-fi was not the only issue at the station though. One winter hot water went out for a couple days and I know other residents who lost hot water for longer periods of time. The advertised amenities would regularly have issues and be shut down. They would take weeks to get them working. Our front door handle broke multiple times so we would have to walk around to the back door just to get into our apartment. The rooms were not sealed at all as there were visible openings around doorways so bugs will get in during the summer. Every time I came back at the start of the school year, there would be piles of dead rolly pollies and millipedes in the corners of rooms. There was no food left in the apartment, they just wander in through unsealed openings and die on the floor. The key fab readers at the clubhouse would regularly break and would not get fixed. If you wanted to go to the clubhouse after the front desk closes, you have to circle around the building to find a key reader that actually works so you can get in. Management does a poor job of communicating. After 2 years of being there, when my 3rd year of the lease started, it had an extra $300 charge. I eventually found out that it was for a bus pass that had been free the previous two years. When I complained that it had been free and they gave no notice that it would no longer be free, they claimed that it was never complimentary and I should have been paying for it previous years. So, either they don't pay attention to what they charge residents, or they lied to me so I stopped complaining about the extra charges. I feel its the later as I can't imagine this company would have been fine forgetting to send out $300 charges to all their tenants. When I had issues processing payments on their payment portal and had to call their corporate help line, no one answered after days of trying. Instead they had a 3rd party call center call me back to say that Landmark properties (the parent corporation) are unable to answer the phone and he had no information to give me regarding any of my issues and did not know when I would be able to get help from someone at the company. Maintenance guys and front desk staff were friendly with me but it's clear that management cheap out every way possible and then charges tenants for anything they possibly can. Their whole business is built on students not having many options for cheap housing. If you do choose to live here, take a picture of every square inch of the room otherwise they will charge you hundreds of dollars no matter what state the room was in when you moved in.

But what's truly unacceptable is how we were fined $250 each (a total of $500) because a friend visiting for just a few hours brought their dog. This dog didn't belong to either roommate, wasn't staying in the unit, and left the same day. The lease clearly states that for an unauthorized animal, the first step is a written warning, and only if the pet is not removed would a fine apply. We never received any warning--they went straight to charging both roommates, even though only one had the guest. No transparency, no fairness, and absolutely no accountability. If you're considering living here, be prepared to be charged for things that go against their own written policies.
