So he could swim in the bay or pool though chilly out! Not a surfer... a lawyer who loves to keep the swimming season going longer. Hahha. Matt, Eric and Chris were super helpful associates. Checking sizes, products via phone, checking stock in their affiliate stores and holding an item while driving over. It's especially important to get a wetsuit right size wise or water seeps in and its too cold for that. He loved the suit. Once he came over thinking the rear zipper broken... he couldn't reach the zipper tag or get out of it! I checked and it was inside out!! hahaha... Never put a wetsuit on inside out especially if you live alone.. could be trapped in your wetsuit. hahahaha three weeks later there was also a small tear ... and the manufacturer offered to repair via mail.. but so did Flying Point saving time and trips to the post office. Flying Point was great at getting the repair in and done efficiently. When I went to pick it up, just had to give my friends name and they went to the holding room and brought it right out. Its a good example of why a good local shop is really needed... when sizes vary significantly on items and brands. Shopping is so much more than price and mail service... Online retailers could never offer anything close to this great customer service and small town enjoyable experience.

As we were looking around have been in the store for about 15 minutes he was completely ignored. A gentlemen walks in and gets an immediate "hey how are ya" - fine I let it go. He tries on some clothes and at no point did he ever get a "hey can I help you find anything" or similar... instead we both were given dirty looks by a young gentleman on the floor and older woman at the register. We get to the register and carried out our purchase (No greeting until this point).. He's never felt immediate regret from purchasing clothing from a store until this experience. Giving the benefit of the doubt that hopefully this wasn't racial but please treat paying customers better..

I don't know what the split is here. Probably 40-60% to the store, but we'll find out. There's a great selection of shoes, although a couple of pairs of boots were truly hideous. One wonders not just why they were designed, but why anyone bought them. They are, weirdly, arranged loosely by color instead of by size. This doesn't really make sense to us. The majority of the shoes are in small sizes, alas. There are nice clear stickers noting the sizes, so that's helpful. But you have to look at alllll the shoes to try and find your size. This is slightly annoying. I only found three pairs in my size. There may have been more, but I got tired of looking. The selection of purses is okay. Lots of classics, a few (IMO) passé pieces. The bags seemed to run about $3000 and up for Chanel. Prices seemed high ($500+) for St. John, but good to keep in mind if i decide to consign any of mine. Chanel jackets were around $3000 and up. There's also a fair amount of costume jewelry and scarves. You could easily find a complete outfit here, depending on your size. There was a gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutins in my size, for $535, but I have enough high heels, sadly. These were a deep green suede. Adjacent to the restaurant, 'Tutto Il Giorno' (which is another story,) there was a cool, hip looking clothing store....'Urban Zen'. This place was ANYTHING but Zen. Donna Karan is the designer/owner. As expected, Urban Zen had very interesting, unusual and overpriced clothing. But ok, I'm a North Shore of Long Island kinda gal...I get it. I'm prepared for the 'tude'. I tried on a dress which I loved. My husband said, 'I think you need an XS.' This was a small. So I asked Joana, the statuesque, fashionable grey/silver haired, middle aged sales person (I'm 68 years old, btw) for an XS. She didn't acknowledge me until it looked like I was not going to buy this $895.00 dress and $295.00 shawl. She then said 'the other store 'in So-Ho' might have it. I'll check.' She went into the back and pretended to call the NYC store. She came out and said 'they have it.' I said, 'Ok, I'll buy it now and pick it up next wk. Please ask them to hold it.' By this time she had 2 other customers looking at some exorbitantly expensive jewelry. Joana's interest in me and my purchase was waning. Nevertheless, I liked the dress and gave her my credit card. She couldn't produce a paper receipt, but ok, after all, it is 2024, so I said an email is fine. When the receipt did not show up on my phone, she said, 'don't worry, it will', and proceeded to assist the other customers. Now, I think I have earned the right to 'worry'. I just paid $1295.00 and have no proof.. I asked her to text it. She said she would. She looked at me as if I were a psychiatric patient because I was waiting for the receipt. I said, 'I'll wait. Please do it now.' She recited my phone # (incorrectly). I repeated it. She reluctantly texted it. Looking at the hip, cool website I discovered the NYC store (in the West Village...NOT So-Ho) had limited hours and no phone number. So, I went to get the dress today. Surprise, Surprise. No XS!!!! Emily, the NYC salesperson, said she just looked and saw there was an email from 3 days ago. Nothing about holding the XS. Joana really did NOT call to inquire about the XS? I wasn't surprised.. Emily diligently tried to find something else for me. By this time, 'the thrill was gone'. I just wanted a refund. This was not a problem for Emily. Somehow, she understood that when things are purchased and/or returned a receipt is customary. No more Urban Zen for me!!
