Grilled cheese with unmelted cheese :(
    Christina Y.

I tried this truck while visiting Seventh son one weekend. It was a pretty cold day, and I appreciate them being there. However, I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and the cheese wasn't even melted? I mean, how difficult can a grilled cheese sandwich be? I took a photo, you could literally see a bunch of shredded cheese, unmelted, in the sandwich. I am writing this review just so they do better.

Including a photo of the $8 "cheesy bread" we bought. It's a bread stick cut in half with slices of American cheese. I love to support local but this food truck needs some work.

I recently managed to track down Blu Olive, which I have been trying to do for a few weeks, at the Grandview Hop. Ever since I read an online review of their beet and ricotta ravioli, I have been dying to try the little truck, and I was not disappointed. disclaimer: I only ordered one thing at Blu Olive, so I can't speak for their desserts or dishes containing meat or honestly anything but that ravioli. THE PROS: highly friendly service. I met the owner, and she was very sweet. everyone in the cart was polite and happy to help. the ravioli itself was very good, but I have to say that what really pushed it over the edge was the inclusion of poppyseed butter, a concept that I was unfamiliar with. It's exactly what it sounds like--butter full of crunchy little poppyseeds, and it really made the dish, adding fantastic texture in an entirely unexpected way. I really appreciate the inclusion of a relatively unique vegetarian option. THE CONS: the portion seemed just a little small. however, it filled me up, so I think it may have seemed that way because of the fact that the raviolis were stacked on top of each other, instead of spread out on a plate like they would be at a sit down restaurant. the typical food truck problems: places to sit, standing wait time, etc. All in all, I was thrilled to have found Blu Olive, and I would happily venture there again. I wish them the best of luck as they set out to break into the Columbus food truck market.

    Meatball sandwich

Blu Olive isn't too hard to find if you follow them on Twitter or Facebook. They update them regularly. I usually see that they're posted up at the Bexley Natural Market in the afternoon, but if you want to be sure to find them, they're at the Columbus Commons every Thursday during the Summer and Fall for the food truck court. I saw them last week and a few things on the menu caught my eye, especially the Italian sub. Well, we came back this past Thursday, and that was no longer on the menu. Sigh. Blu Olive rotates their menu quite often it seems, but you can usually find something good on there in the comfort food category. Yesterday I tried the meatball sandwich with house made marinara sauce on focaccia bread. House made marinara? Yes, please. It was a sweeter sauce. My buddy went with an Italian sausage on a pita with peppers, onions, spicy mustard, and a few other things. It sounded and looked pretty amazing. The meatball sandwich was delicious, and they pack quite a few meatballs on there and load on the sauce. It was incredibly messy as well, and it filled me up. My friend thought the sausage on pita was great, and I had a bite and would have to agree. The food here really is close to a 5 star status. It does take a little bit of time for the meal to come out in comparison to other trucks I had. I think we waited about 10 minutes and were the only ones in line at the time, so I wonder how bad it'd be if it was a bit busier. If you have the time to wait though, the food is definitely worth it. I'll be making it a point to come back here again and try some of the other options.

It's right across from the Franklinton library branch. Their menu is pretty extensive with lots of staples (Nashville chicken sandwich, burgers, fries, tacos, and wings). We tried wings because they advertised a special for $1.50 per wing on Wednesday night. They have a ton of sauce options. We went with Nashville hot, Steph's Way, and toxic sauce for the cauliflower bites. Portions were fantastic for the price. The Nashville hot was my favorite. Not too hot with just enough kick. The Steph's Way was a bit salty, but had a nice lemony flavor. All wing meat was cooked perfectly. Food is cooked to order and they will text you when ready. I can't wait to come back to try their other sauces and menu items.

Its a new location for them but sounds like they were working out of other locations in the past. Upon walking up, the cashier was super nice and since we were interested in wings, she described the various sauces they had. We ended up getting 6 steph's way which is a garlic parmesan based sauce, 6 nashville hot, and an order of cauliflower bites. Food is made to order so it took a bit of time before our food was ready. They text you when your foods ready for pickup so you can wait in your car or walk over to the library. Food was amazing, wings were huge and the bake-fry left the wings perfectly cooked and juicy. The nashville hot was my personal favorite sauce of the night. The steph's way was just a tad too salty for me but still great overall. I'll have to come back to try some of their other offerings but so far, super impressed with their wings! Can't wait to come back

All the pricing was great and I visited them at 7:15 p.m. and they closed at 8:00 pm and they still had the same quality and portions of food as if I had been there when they open at 1:00 p.m. Coming so close to closing time I thought that they would say they were out of funnel cakes or out of something but they weren't and it was well worth visiting this food truck. I don't think they have a physical location but, they are very responsive and quick. If they do have a physical location, I missed it (sorry!) They have a new address coming up in a few weeks. They do catering which is sweet for both young and old. Definitely a treat for all ages! These cakes are so creative and fun! Honestly, they should be more than the price they are charging, seriously. I rarely say that as the Mr. Krabs I am but, seriously, they are charging State Fair prices for gourmet funnel cakes. They should be double if you ask me especially since they are big, shareable, and customizable. Currently, as of yesterday, they wrote, "Don't miss this summers introductory rate for our new trailer! I was a little disappointed in the ragu. A little less meat and maybe hold back a small portion of the seasoning until the last 30 minutes of simmering. I love key lime pie so I ordered that for dessert. They brag about it on their menu and they aren't wrong. It was good and definitely better than most restaurants. Overall a good experience.
