I was in Madrid for a few days and dropped into the Blow Dry Bar for a blowout. I have thick hair and was just not in the mood to wash and style it myself. I was able to call and get an appointment for the very next day. I was given the very first slot and was seen immediately upon my arrival. I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman that blowdried my hair as it was quick, efficient, perfect and lasted for days. I was in Madrid and desperately needed a wash and blow dry. I have long thick hair and in the states, get it done at the Dry Bar about once a week so I was due. Not knowing whether this blow bar concept had reached Spain, I took a chance researching on yelp and was delighted to see all the positive reviews about this place. As a bonus it was very close to my hotel, a 10 minute pleasant walk. All I can say is WOW! The previous reviews were totally accurate, and I had the best experience My Spanish is terrible but that didn't matter. I showed Rueben ( I think that was his name?) a picture of sexy victoria secret hair and he duplicated it to perfection. I was so happy with the result, I wanted to take him with me back to California so he could do my hair all the time! Next time I'm in Madrid, I will definitely come back! read more

I'm a big fan of "dry bars" in the US, and this is as good as the best ones in back in the states. I have long, semi-thick hair, and often leave the salon with my hair still damp. That wasn't the case here at all. Jesus gave me a great scalp rub and dried my hair exactly how I like it (straight, a little volume at the top, and bends at the end of my layers.) Best part? It only took 40 minutes, and the blowout lasted beautifully. I'm in Madrid for 10 days at a time every couple of months and am already looking forward to another visit the Blow Dry Bar. A few other things: --I went on a Thursday morning and it was 30 or 32 Euros which is a *great* deal. I think the prices might be higher on Friday--Saturday, but I'm not sure. --I made an appointment the night before. The last time I was in Madrid, I tried to make a same-day appointment, but they were already booked up, and I had to go somewhere else which wasn't nearly as good and was more expensive. Moral of the story? Make an appointment! --I speak Spanish, but it seemed to me that everybody in the shop spoke English pretty well. --If you're just visiting for the first time, there are so many cute shops, boutiques, cafes, and restaurants in the area. Plan to walk around for a little bit before or after if you can! read more

Got highlights and toning done by Lucy and it was amazing!! I made an appointment online and for some reason when I showed up it appeared as canceled even though I never canceled it. They were very nice and were able to take me anyways but I recommend calling to make an appointment if possible. Lucy even offered me some tea while waiting for the bleach to settle and brought me cake as well which was a nice surprise! I'm from the US but am studying abroad in Madrid so I was nervous to find a salon, but it was excellent service and everyone I interacted with spoke English. They have back massagers in the chairs so you get a massage while getting your hair washed. They also offer you wine & snacks while you are getting your hair done. Where do I begin? It was my first time in Spain (let alone, Europe) and I wanted to get some color in my hair. I wasn't prepared with my Spanish, which probably led me to an elderly lady (bless her heart) from a different salon who dyed my hair not the way I wanted it. I was devastated because I had just arrive Spain and had to walk around with brassy-colored old school chunky highlights. Upon searching online to see who would take a last minute walk-in appointment, I found Blow Dry Bar and made an appointment with them the following morning. When I arrived the Blow Dry Bar, I drank hot mint tea and ate some pastry while waiting for my hair stylist at the super cute and charming bar. After the consultation and trying to figure out the safest route to repair it, Esther got to work. We ended up dying it a dark brown with hints of lowlights (?) while using the balayage technique. Just moved to Madrid from the US and used Yelp to find a salon. The reviews for Blow Dry Bar were great and there were comments that at least some of the employees spoke English. I downloaded their app and asked for a consult to change my hair color from light blond to dark blond with a bayalage look. They messaged and asked if I could come in the next day and asked if I'd send pics of what my hair currently was and what I wanted to change to. I walked to my appointment and was so impressed immediately. I was met at the door and my cape was buttoned on for me, then I was offered tea (nice selection by the way) and cake while I waited. Juan was my stylist and speaks great English. He listened well and transformed my hair into exactly what I asked for. He also added a conditioning treatment that has made my hair shinier than it's ever been. And after having some significant highlights on the same day, that is a major accomplishment. I was staying in an apartment on the same block of Blow Dry Bar and happened to pick up their Services Menu. I was shocked at how great their prices are. I immediately walked in and made an appointment with the guy at the desk. They were able to take me in that evening. When I came in for my appointment there was a woman at the desk (Angela), at the time I didn't know she was my stylist. A man was also there and he helped me put on my robe/cape and took me to my chair. I thought he was going to do my hair, but it turns out it was Angela. She started it off with a welcome head massage with an amazing oil that you choose (3 choices), then she washed my hair in this peaceful room. She explains the products they use and tells me that I could do treatments to my hair for additional price. After the wash, she blow dried my hair and the end result was FANTASTIC. It had volume and looked so vibrant. My hair bounced when I walked. I was so happy with everything about this place. I am definitely going back and will recommend this place to people. read more

Decided on a whole new hair colour and style, dangerous when you are in a strange city with no recommendations - I hit gold - wonderful salon combining a spa atmosphere with a hairdressers, no loud music and bright lighting - chilled, peaceful and very comfortable , friendly staff, and more to the point my hair is brilliant, great colour and really good cut.
