How do I explain my love for Blossoms and Becky? Let's start at the beginning!! We heard about Blossoms through friends of ours who had their son and daughter there and so we enrolled our kids as well. We've been there for two years on and off. The "off" part because we moved and it became really far for us to come here. Blossoms, in my opinion, is everything you want in a childcare center for young children. I worry that children these days are being pushed to grow up too quickly, and academics are pushed too heavily on children. When looking for childcare for my children, I don't want someone teaching them how to do calculus when they're three years old I would much rather have someone focus on giving my son the love that I'm not able to when I'm working. I want him to have socialization and I want him to be able to do fun activities with other children. And Blossoms is all of that. These factors are far more important than academics! In addition, it's a family environment; the chef and some of the daycare workers are related and it shows me how valued a family environment is. Our son, more than a year ago, was in Colton's class and now Colton is headteacher and I don't have enough words to say how amazing that is. Colton is a kind, loving individual and deserves accolades for being such a good human being. Mariya, one of the other teachers, is also just a beautiful human being. My 3yo asked to be in her class even though she watched the younger kids mostly; he just gravitates to her kind nature. Becky, the director, isn't just invested in your child's schooling; she's invested in the big picture which is psychosocial and emotional growth. Update: several minutes after my review the owner of the daycare sent messages to parents pleading with them to save blossoms reputation by posting a review here. This is how Yelp works apparently. Use caution and investigate reviews, the good and the bad. It pains me to write a negative review because the first year our daughter was at Blossoms was great. But these last few months we've had a terrible experience and have recently heard some alarming stuff from other parents. I received a text from the owner Becky, informing us that our daughter is no longer welcome at her daycare because of a "threatening" message I sent to Joslyn and her staff. I have attached the message for all to see. What prompted such a message to her teachers and the owner? First, we received less than 24 hours' notice that our daughter's class was moving to a different building. We were told the space would be bigger and the kids would be happier. Awesome, we can roll with this. But two weeks later we discovered from Facebook photos that our daughter was moved to a different classroom without our knowledge. Prior to us realizing she had been moved, she would come home upset and we had no idea why. She said, "school was scary, there were too many new teachers and kids." We then messaged her school asking for clarity. They flippantly told us she had indeed been moved 2 months ago (which was also untrue) but she is still with the same teachers and students. After further investigation, we realized this was far from the truth. We had been telling our daughter for weeks, it's fine, you're just in a new building. They lied to us again and again. Her teacher refused to meet with us because we were "bullying" her. We are upset parents and asked very directly what was going on. We never received a clear explanation as to why she was moved. Becky the owner again and again said it was because of licensing. Here teacher Joslyn reassured us everything was fine after 2 inquiries about our daughters well-being after the move. It was only after I saw FB posts of our child in a diff class that she revealed that yes, our child was indeed moved to a diff class...2 months ago. Which was also false. After reaching out to other parents, we learned other disturbing facts. Communication completely stopped for weeks not only with us but other parents. We've been called bullies for demanding the truth. Becky repeatedly told us that she is not about academics and that her school is really in the business for drug prevention, whatever that means. Becky and Joslyn are all smiles but when it comes down to the true nature of their business, that's all it is. Profit and business. It's sad that we were treated like this. We know how hard the teachers work. Becky's unprofessional and unethical approach to her business harms not only the kids and families but also her staff. read more

An unfortunate turn of events...we had been with Blossoms since the beginning of the pandemic, ~2 years. The staff is an amazing group of people doing their best through these tough times. I normally don't post and I'm only writing this as other parents have informed me the daycare owner is requesting Yelp reviews. The main issue, for us with this Blossoms is the communication from the owner and lead teacher regarding events that have affected our child. Some of these decisions were very abrupt and affected all parents. Other decisions were made without our knowledge and directly involved our child. Example of an abrupt decision affecting all parents - Sunday night text within their app to inform us that the kids would be in a new building on Monday morning. You'd think if this was something in the works, there would have been communications letting us know that "hey, we're moving on X date" or "reminder on Monday, we'll be moving". We were never given a reason for the abrupt move. While the move was abrupt, what are you going to do? Find another daycare? No, you roll with the punches and you understand that this is hard on everyone. With the move to a new building, a decision to move our child into a different cohort of children was made without our knowledge. Our child had been with this cohort for two years. Our child would say I'm scared and didn't want to go to school. We thought it was just new and our child would have to adjust to the new environment like everyone else. We reassured our child it was okay, to just play with your friends, listen to your teacher, and that things would work out. Our child would say "I didn't get to play with them today" or "I have a new teacher". At drop-off and in the daycare app we asked what was going on and if there was anything we needed to know about at the school that may be affecting our child. We were reassured that everything was fine. We started to notice on the Facebook group pictures that our child was with all new kids. We asked if our child was still in the same class/group and were reassured that our child was still with the same group. We started to watch Facebook posts and saw that our child was in a different class and no longer in the same classes as the group that our child had been with for the previous two years or even playing with them on the playground. My wife asked for a meeting to understand what was going on and was denied. I asked for a meeting and was denied. I asked again for a meeting and was told to come to the open house to view the new space and ask questions. I said I didn't believe the open house was an appropriate time and space for us to ask questions about our child. The open house is for all parents and not a parent-teacher conference. I was told again to come to the open house. Fine, we'll go to the open house to see what's going on. At the open house, it was clearly not a space to have our questions answered, and were provided with conflicting answers - Our child was still in the same group, no they had been moved bc of not getting along with others, no there was an assessment and we moved your child some time ago. We, again, asked for a meeting to better understand what was going on. Was our child still with the same cohort? If not, why not? Clearly, our child was not in the same group anymore based on the Facebook pictures and the conflicting answers provided at the open house. Now, which is it? Our child is no longer in the same group because of not getting along with others or an assessment? If not getting along with others why wasn't it brought to our attention, so that we could help reinforce what was being done to resolve this at the school? If there was an assessment, okay, let's see the assessment. No assessment was provided. Why first tell us that our child was still in the same group? It took something like 30 days to get a meeting....30 days from...hey, what's going on to finally getting a meeting. We asked to zoom and couldn't get a zoom meeting during that time. Prior to finally meeting in person, there were emails and texts. Here are our questions...runaround response...please provide a copy of the assessment...I'll get back to you. 30 days later we meet and we explain this meeting is just about the well-being of our child and we just want to know what needs to be done so we can support them at school. We provide the list of questions again...no answers. It was a chance to repair what relationship was left, rebuild trust, and come up with a plan to support our child. Instead, it was more runaround. "I'll talk with the teacher". We're no longer at Blossoms. Do we believe the care staff is good with children? Yes Does Blossoms need to do a better job of communicating with parents? We enrolled our oldest at Blossoms 2,5 years ago and have been happy since day one. So much that we recently enrolled our second little one. The teachers are creative and go above and beyond to make the children's day exciting, fun, and educational at the same time. Blossoms has been a lot more than a child care place for us, it's a home away from home and a place that I hold dear in my heart. Almost 3 years ago, my nanny quit with little notice and I toured around as many place as I could, I knew right away after meeting Becky that this was the right place for my babies. She has a passion for childcare, she loves all the babies and kids that walk through her door. With more than 20 years of experience, I can say she is a kid whisperer. In addition to Becky we also love the amazing teachers who are also kid-whisperers and great educators. I have watched with amazement that the teachers resolve toddler "issues" without ever raising their voices. My boys, along with their friends have grown from little crawling babies (whom Becky held for two weeks to help adjust!) to now potty-trained, alphabet reading, book loving, Spanish-English speaking, young confident toddlers. I can't say enough good things also about their huge backyard where my kids are allowed a lot of outdoor time, run around as kids should. They also helped plant flowers and edibles in their garden, watched caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies.... With a mixed age group of kids, my kids were loved from day one from older kids who love to give them hugs. They also learned to be very gentle to smaller babies. Oh and they have very few holidays if that's important to you :) You can't go wrong with this place. We enrolled our 3yo at Blossoms for a little while before she started her preschool; our experience with this center is a breeze. Our daughter really blossomed in this center's nurturing and enriching environment. In a small span of time that she spent here, her communication and social skills improved significantly. Took a while but I finally found the right daycare for my daughter. Very personalized and professional teachers. I work in Bellevue but love in auburn so the traffic is a pain every morning. I was really surprised to read a negative review of the daycare because Becky and Blossoms has been amazing for us. Blossoms goes beyond academics and teaches emotional intelligence. As a first time mom, I've felt I've learn so much from Becky and the staff. Whenever we had any concerns at all, Becky always took the time to sit down with us and discuss any matters big or small. At 8-month old, my daughter started at the "big kids" house. I was a little concerned about having big kids around my little one but soon I saw just how gentle and sweet all the kids are. Whenever my daughter was sad at drop off, all the kids would bring her toys to cheer her up. When my daughter moved to the toddler house, she had a lot of fun each day and learn various things from numbers to alphabets to songs to sporting equipment. I'm always surprised by what she knows. Both my family and myself saw such big changes with my daughter after joining Blossoms. We started our son at Blossoms when he was around four months old. Leaving your baby with anyone is completely nerve wracking, but Becky and all of the teachers were so warm, responsive, and experienced from day one that my anxiety quickly dissipated. Our son is now 1.5 and loves going to daycare. He always smiles and hugs me when I pick him up and then wants to get back down to play in the huge fenced-in yard with his buddies. I so appreciate the little things his caregivers do, like the special care given to his eczema-prone skin, the photos, meal menus and updates on the private parents' facebook group, and the date nights out quarterly for parents. It's awesome that our son gets to be around kids younger and older than him, too - one of the first words he learned was 'gentle' (as he'd been taught to be around babies smaller than him) - and I know he's soaking up so many skills from the bigger toddlers, too. Play is incredibly important when kids are this young, and it's fantastic how much Blossoms lets kids be kids. They have a schedule and activities going on every day, which are great, but playing and socializing with other kids and learning those social-emotional skills are equally as important, and I know my son is getting all of the above at Blossoms. This is my first chance to write this well deserved review. Rebecca and I had an interview where my daughter met all of her counsellors and teachers. While I was there (it was over an hour) my daughter felt so happy to be there that she didn't want to leave! Christian gives us a daily play-by-play on the parent secret Facebook page that allows me to know what my daughter is up to all day so I'm not a total sap while I'm at work. In the past 8 weeks she's thrived! Learning her ABC's, counting to 15, and really overcoming any "single" child difficulties we've had with sharing. Another great thing that comes with her daycare is 4 times a year they host "Date Night". The kids will stay a little longer, have more activities, and mom and dad get to go catch dinner and a movie without completely breaking the bank on a babysitter. She's in the process of expanding her program to a full blown academy a mile down the road. This will be a STEM based program that she's very hands on in creating the curriculum. We are so happy with the progress our daughter has made at Blossoms. She started in a nanny share and after a year we decided to put her in a daycare to be more social. The daycare was a top facility in Chicago, but it felt cold and our daughter was miserable. She would run out of the doors every day crying. When we moved to Seattle I really wanted to find a place that would help our daughter thrive but also have caregivers that cared and loved the children. I found Blossoms by chance and I immediately felt like this was the right place for our daughter. She is so happy everyday and loves all her friends and all her caregivers and you can tell the feeling is mutual. My daughter has been going to Blossoms since she was a little over 2 years old, in the last 700+ drop offs, we never had to leave Blossoms with a hint of worry or uncertainty. We know she's in great hands and she's loved by the best childcare teachers you can ever find. When she first started at Blossoms, she was shy and didn't talk much, she always played by herself instead of joining group activities. Today she's a proud and confident girl who meets new environments with the kind of assurance that we didn't expect her to have before Blossoms. At Blossoms, she learned to manage her big emotions positively (the most important life lessons for 2,3,4 year olds in my humble opinion), and she learned to do so with a group of amazing friends. A few weeks ago at morning drop off, her friends were so excited that they ran towards her shouting her name, she got nervous and told them "I need some space", upon hearing this, the 2 running kids suddenly stopped, turned around and ran away. I was shocked and am still amazed. She demonstrated her ability to express herself clearly and more importantly she was heard and respected. This level of effective communication between 4 year olds and the self-control of her friends is a work of miracle. I've never seen this anywhere else and I'm not sure I will see it anywhere else. I started my 17 month old daughter at Blossom's daycare twice a week . Becky told me I should pay half of the tuition upfront as a deposit which is refundable whenever I plan to move from there. I also paid ahead for the last 2 weeks of the month. But my little one got sick the same day and couldn't start from that week . So I requested her to use the money that I had paid for the next month tuition as I had not yet started ,. But she refused to do so ,which I thought was unfair since I had not yet started daycare . But I let go of it and sent my toddler after 2 weeks . I paid for full days and my toddler never stayed more than 2 hr-3 hrs in her daycare . I understand that kids take sometime to adjust so I used to pick her up as soon as Becky used to text me . This happened throughout my toddlers tenure at the daycare. But she charged me for the whole day. I also noticed that she used to make my gal take a nap as soon as I used to drop her off. And when she was up , she used to send me a msg to pick her up . I really wondered how my child would get adjusted to the environment if she did that .i got late a couple of times to pick her up after a msg , she used to keep my baby waiting outside the daycare or in some unused dingy basement and complained that my daughter cried too loudly and woke other kids up from their nap. I also noticed that all the other kids used the be outside during the cold winter months , due to which the kids used to be sick which in turn made my gal sick every other day . Sometimes Becky used not respond about when I could drop her off to daycare as she was short of care takers . I still paid for those days mind you . Finally my gal caught a terrible flu that took more than 3 weeks to recover. I told Becky that I will pull her out of daycare for sometime as she isn't well and of course I had already paid for that month. I dint care since my little one was really sick . And then She said I will have to pay to reserve a spot . I told her that I will not pay to reserve a spot and will be back when she is better and if she has room in her daycare.I just left my refund with her for a few months . After a few months I pinged her regarding a spot and she said no space . I waited for a few months and then I was moving out of Bellevue so I asked her if she could return my refund and she just refused to do so . She gave me hundred and one lame excuses and said she cannot . I think it was totally unethical on her behalf and she dint have the decency to return my little ones belongings either .i am so disappointed with Becky and unprofessional behavior, I really expected better from Becky as she sounded so convincing and promising when I enrolled my little one . My gal stayed only for 3 months at her daycare.What a total waste of my time , money and energy.i must also say the not recommended reviews are true .please read them before enrolling your kids. read more

I am a picky Mom when it comes to mynson's Educational experience since I am in the education field and I have been extremely impressed with every aspect of Blossoms. Blossoms has been an amazing experience for my daughter and our family. My child needs a little more attention that most kids and Becky and her crew have been so accommodating and incredibly loving. When our nanny share fell through at the last minute, our friends highly recommended Blossoms and put us in contact with Becky. At the tour, we instantly were put at easy by Becky and her staff. Everyone was so friendly and all of the kids we saw were having a blast. We had toured traditional centers and they all felt uninviting and ridged, but Blossoms was welcoming and personal. We enrolled our son for a little over a year (recently moved to a different place to be closer to our home and work because traffic is a huge factor here). Our son is on the shy side, and the staff was always patient with him while he warmed up to the other kids and made sure he felt comfortable. We loved that there was a lot of time spent outside (rain or shine) learning and playing vs. the standard 2/30 minute times on a tiny playground like the centers. All of the teachers and staff were so kind and always seemed to really enjoy being there with the kids. During my son's years @ Blossoms, Becky treated our family like we were one of her own. The projects and activities that the kids engage in are captured so you know what's happening in your kiddo's daily life. Social-emotional learning is prioritized, and literacy and numeracy are emphasized in all that the kids engage in. My son picked up so many kind words from Blossoms, and is confident and proud as a learner. Each Blossoms house has its own teachers, assistants, and ambiance, but one thing is consistent - your child is loved and valued, and you are part of the Blossoms family. When you choose Blossoms, you embrace a holistic, homestyle approach to childcare. It is not an overly-structured center, and this is what makes it really different than other options in the area. Our daughter was at Blossoms for just over 2 years, from 18 months until about 4 years old. Before deciding on Blossoms we toured a number of home care providers and larger child care / early ed facilities. We chose Blossoms because we believe in Becky, the owner, as a keen judge of character and someone who deeply understands the emotional needs of children. Those traits enable her to build a great team of teachers and care providers who can create a safe, healthy environment for kids to build social and emotional intelligence. This turned out to be very true; everyone who works here is an exceptional person, and loved our daughter like a family member. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Blossoms so far. Our daughter (18 months) absolutely loves it there! We started her at 15 months, and her going from a full-time nanny and WFH parents with 1:1 care since birth, to a full day at school was daunting for us. But the transition was so seamless and she is so happy there. Becky welcomed us in and has accommodated every request, has taught us a lot, and we truly feel like we are part of a family. Her approach and philosophy is so incredible, and completely aligned to what we were looking for. Our son started at Blossoms when he was four months and has been going there for almost two years now. As a first time mom it was really hard to return to work and leave our son. We had toured some of the larger daycare facilities and I was horrified when I saw the infants rooms. After meeting with Becky and seeing how the kids at the daycare interacted we were comfortable that we had found the right place for him. Fortunately our temporary summer spot turned into a full time spot. Becky and her team have helped teach our son how to interact with other kids and be a kind person as well as more academic topics. My son has been coming here since he was three months old, and I can't say enough to recommend Blossoms. As any working parent can attest, making the decision of where to leave your child when you're at work all day is one of the most important (and stressful) decisions ever. I found Blossoms on the recommendation of several coworkers whose kids go here, in addition to the recommendations of other folks whose kids went here when they were younger (but who have moved on to other schools now that they are older). The very first time I met with Becky (the summer before my son was born), I knew that this would be the right place for my baby. My son had a rough start and there was a chance that he would still need to be on oxygen when I went back to work. Most daycare providers would have been intimidated by this, and Becky didn't bat an eye, saying, "Just show me what to do and we can take care of it." Thankfully he ended being weaned off of oxygen before I had to go back to work, but I was touched and impressed at her willingness to take on what could have been a real challenge. The kids here are all so known and so loved by everyone who works here, and that shows through in the way that they interact with each other. Becky helps each child find their voice and teaches them the value of kindness. The "older" kids (i.e., 2-3-year-olds) are kind to the younger babies, and run over to say hello each morning. When my son was younger and would cry, the toddlers knew that "Twinkle, Twinkle" was his favorite song and would gather around him and sing to him! It's the kind of thing that if you had seen it in a movie, you wouldn't have believed it, but that's the sort of thing that happens every day at Blossoms. Becky is always looking for ways to improve the experience of the kids at Blossoms. I've been amazed at how quickly she will execute her ideas, whether that's building a "race track" around the base of a giant tree in the backyard or making a little "neighborhood" out of the play structures so the kids can pretend they are neighbors. I could go on and on, but I think that I'd be repeating myself. And it seems like Jazzmenn covered a lot of what I would want to say in her review! More than anything, I can see how happy my son is here. He NEVER fusses when I drop him off--he has smiles for everyone who works here and hurries off to the play kitchen to find a toy or to the book wall to pull them all down. And when I show up to pick him up at the end of the day, he is happy to see me, but in no hurry to leave. We have been a happy customer since October 2016. My son started when he was 1 year 10 months. He loves going to daycare now. Previous chain care centers had not worked out for us so we wanted to go with an in-home daycare like Blossoms. Now my son enjoys his day and he regularly talks about his friends at Blossoms. Each day he participates in fun activities to grow his mind and body. He learns songs, does crafts, eats healthy meals/snacks and participants in group activities and sensory play. Blossoms has a voluntary secure Facebook group in where photos from the day are shared. The photos help me feel like I am part of his day. I also enjoy the sense of community it has provided with the other parents. I have been thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and reliability of Becky and her staff. The team is knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. They are fully qualified with STAR training, have background checks and are current CPR/First Aid Certifications. Each employee is committed to the childcare philosophy and to the children. This is not just a job to them this is living out their passion. They have really invested in my son and helped him identify and express his strong 2-year old emotions in positive ways. He is so happy at the end of the day and regularly asks to stay longer or visit Blossoms on the weekends. What I like most about Blossoms, there isn't the stress. I know my son is safe and is having fun. I can see it in the pictures, the meal plans and I have stayed for part of his day to see how the staff work. I have two children, and this is the best care I have seen in 5 years. And a side bonus he is also getting an education and I have made some true friends in Becky, Paris and Christian. Our daughter has been at Blossoms for 1.5 yrs, and we couldn't have been happier. I was able to stay home with her big brother until he was 2, and then I had family in Chicago to help out. In Seattle, I had to head back to work when his little sister was one year old, and none of the larger centers felt good. We live in NW Seattle and I work on the east side, so I toured quite a few. Many were perfectly nice enough, but were sterile with high staff turnover -- the people were capable of caring for your child, but I never felt that anyone there would LOVE her as well. And for an infant/toddler, that's much more important than most anything else. We have always felt that she has been safe, well-cared for, and deeply loved. She adores everyone there just as much, and is excited to go every day -- and I almost always have to chase her down to take her home at the end of the day. Becky has also been operating an in-home daycare for ages and she's a mom, so she's super-experienced as well as understanding. The space is large, and much nicer and better equipped than most of the centers we toured in Seattle and the east side. The backyard/play space is also bigger than most parks and the kids have a TON of outdoor time, which my daughter really loves. read more

Where do I begin with Blossoms? My daughter started here when she was 14 months old. We were new to the Seattle area and knew nothing and nobody. Becky was so incredibly warm and welcoming we immediately felt comfortable leaving our daughter with her and her very capable staff. That was nearly 6 years ago, and not only did my daughter continue to grow and thrive, but when my son was born he began going every day since he was a few months old. He is now three and loves "school" so much it's hard to get him to leave. Becky, Christian, Meghan, Rina and the rest of the Blossoms staff are kind, compassionate, incredibly qualified and provide a fun and educational environment for all children to thrive and feel welcome. Both my children had different strengths, and they knew how to cultivate those strengths to improve their confidence and social interactions. Becky really concentrated on emotional awareness - which for my daughter meant toning it down, and for my son meant toning it way up and advocating for himself. She loves and cares for every child as if they were her own. I honestly would not trust my littles with anyone else, especially in those very important early years where it's tough to leave them every day. One other thing that I find unique and important about blossoms is Becky's attention and care she gives to the parents. She believes in the family unit and has gone above and beyond to support us when we needed it. Happy parents build a happy environment for their children, and she truly understands and supports that. I wish there was a rating option beyond 5 stars. My son has been going to blossoms day care since 5 months now. The first few weeks were stressful because he was very attached to me and going to a new place wasn't easy for him so he would cry at drop offs. Becky and the other teachers there made sure that they helped my son settle and never complained about how much he cried after I left. I've seen day care owners calling back parents cuz they can't pacify kids. But not this one. I can count on Becky, Simmy, Meghan, Katy, sandy and all the amazing amazing ppl at blossoms for anything related to my son. I've seen my son grow so fond of this place and the teachers In such a short time. Becky is an amazing person who understands parenting to the core and is super supportive. She's not calculative at all and would go beyond your expectations to make sure your child is cared for and looked after. I can write an entire chapter on how amazing this place is and how blessed I feel to have found this place for my most precious baby! read more

We LOVE Blossoms!!! My Daughter started at one of the in home locations at 6 months old. She attends 2 days a week. From Day one she has been loved and cared for with open arms by not only Becky but all of the teachers. As a first time mom I was put at ease knowing that I was able to contact the teachers at any point in the day. Checking on her through text and now the parent portal as well as the private Facebook page that documents each day. I think it's a clear sign that my daughter loves Blossoms even more than we do, She practically jumps out of my arms at the door at the sight of teachers and friends. She has never cried at drop off... only at pick up. In the fall we are welcoming a second baby, we are so thankful that Blossoms will be a part of his care as well. I Highly recommend Blossoms to anyone who is looking for a personal connection with a care team that will very quickly become extended family. We Love Blossoms!!! read more

My son went here for some time, but we had to stop abruptly in September, which was as unfortunate and unexpected for us, as it was our son. Becky, the owner, completely lost interest after she moved from her previous home. I had virtually no qualms prior to the move, but afterwards the routine stopped, the communication went downhill and art projects were out the window. Both homes that our son was in her care with are rentals. She has made plenty of updates to the new home, but at the expense that the workers are there during business hours. We had found strange men smoking outside in front of the garage, coming in and out of the side gate while children were playing; and I'm not sure if it was her new boyfriend or a worker that started hanging around in the house fixing things up - I was never formally introduced. When I questioned who these men were, I was given nonchalant responses, which left me feeling uneasy. Becky does not like to communicate via phone unless it is text, and she never responds to email. From day one she was asking me to text her when I would be leaving my house, even though I would drop off around the same time each day, and communicate this the night prior. And then she would text me back while I was driving to ask if she had time to shower. We arrived numerous times at her home with the house dark and no one around. After several minutes of my son asking where everyone is, she would come downstairs with a towel on her head and in a bathrobe, explaining how she thought she had enough time to shower. I was late for work on these occasions. At pick up, she began texting DAILY to either myself or my partner, asking when we would be there - even though we had the same schedules every day and week. On top of this, while all we needed was someone from 7am-6pm and she originally said she would be flexible, it became unreasonable as each month she complained about the untimeliness of our pick up even though it was discussed in advance with no concerns. Becky seemed to increasingly need more personal time as she entered a new relationship, despite the hired help she calls "teachers." It's no wonder that the "teachers" she had when we first had our son attending her daycare, turned over quickly, and abruptly without notice. When she finally did find two stable "teachers," she quickly had them move in to her mother in law home on the property. One time I asked if any of her "teachers" would be willing to watch our son one evening. This went south as she flaked on us, and when Becky caught wind through this "teacher," outright called me a liar. The "teacher" of course, was not seen but once since she flaked on us. I later found out that this teacher was "afraid" of me. Becky constantly pried about me and my partners relationship, and once indulged in telling me a story of how her ex husband was a drug addict and abandoned her and her kids, and how he is remarried now and she catches him essentially "stalking" her at times. I had begun searching for another care provider at that time because this concerned me and the safety of my child in the event that something could happen. Then one day after getting fed up with constant daily texts at work stressing me out, I addressed my concerns about texting with Becky and asked that she not contact us during work hours unless it is an emergency, and that we would communicate the night prior if any changes in our schedule arise. She left me two voicemails, and several texts ranging in a 3 hour span. After receiving her last text at 830pm when I was going to bed, I responded asking her not to contact me so late unless it is an emergency, and bottom line not to text at work unless the same. She responded that I was disrespectful and rude. When my partner dropped off the next morning, there were no problems. When I picked up, Becky blew up on me, screaming at me in front of the children in her care that I had to listen to her, grabbed my arm and wouldn't let me leave, and was yelling at me what a bad parent I am and making assumptions about my partner's and my relationship with my son, and accusing my partner that he could leave at any moment and how our son needed love and didn't receive enough love at home, etc. When I finally left, she followed me out the front door, leaving the children in the house alone, to continue verbally harassing me. We cancelled our check that night and I took two weeks off work to stay with my son until we found new care, jeopardizing my job. In addition, my son had frequently started saying strange things at home, like that Daddy didn't love mommy and mommy hated daddy. Since he stopped going, those phrases stopped. Becky often talked about the love he needed, but seemed to lack in other necessary care giving skills like safety, communication, sharing, and life skills. I have reported Becky to DSHS. What she did was unprofessional and unstable, as well as the many other illegal actions. But my text is limited. read more

My daughter has been at been at Blossoms for the last 7 months, since she was 4 months old. I have been so happy with the loving care she's gotten. It was terrible leaving her on that first day back to work when she was so small, but I was so comfortable knowing she wasn't going to be plopped in a swing and left there all day. Blossoms really feels like a family. The teacher:child ratio is much higher than what I've seen at other daycares and the result is that each child has arms to hold her when she needs it - whether she's an infant or a preschooler. The kids treat each other like family too. Kindness is the backbone of everything they are taught. Becky is an awesome, passionate caregiver and she's hired a team of professionals who take care of the kids and love them like they're their own. This is a great place to send your kid if you want it to feel like she's going to a second home for the day while you're at work. read more

We chose Blossoms Childcare for our daughter when she was nine months old and we could not be happier with our choice! I toured four other top-rated daycare facilities in Seattle and each tour seemed underwhelming after seeing Blossoms and meeting Rebecca, the owner, as well as the other staff. Going back to work full time was difficult, but Rebecca made the transition so much less stressful as I always feel my little one is receiving the best care in a fun and safe environment. We not only gained a play-based learning environment for our daughter, but also a support system as parents. Rebecca has raised five kids of her own and is so passionate about helping other children blossom in their own unique way. Blossoms has had such a positive impact on our family, they have earned our trust and respect. read more

The pictures are not accurate, they have moved. We went here for a while, but there were always random people besides parents coming and going, we never knew who anyone was, no background checks done on the assistants, high turn over on the assistants, the new assistants live in the mother-in-law at the back of the property. Very little interaction with the kids, they have more infants than qualified for, and with her own five kid's friends always over she exceeds her twelve child limit on a daily basis. She showers during business hours, isn't ready at business opening, and always texts wondering when you will pick up even if there's set times. The kids are outside pretty much 24/7 to do whatever they want in any weather condition. Our child was always getting sick from this place, no kids were ever sent home even if they were throwing up or had high temps. Milk and juice stopped being served all together, only juice was given, and our child always came home hungry. When we first started there seemed to be better structure, but since she moved, there's been no focus and our child hated being there! read more

I agree with the other review about much of what they mentioned, although can't speak to all of it. Our children attended Blossom's at the location that is pictured, which is apparently not the current location, I wouldn't have a way of knowing the location was moved because once we left we burned that bridge and didn't look back. I can say that if the care our kids had received had been as great as the pictures depicted on Blossom's website we would have been thrilled, but in this case the cute Pottery Barn furniture and picture perfect settings shown are not a true reflection of reality. We left during the time the daycare was shutdown for behavior that seemed to be occurring between owner's own children and those entrusted to her care, probably due to lack of supervision. It did also seem as if there was always a crisis in owner's personal life or one of her many children that got to be a drain on my sympathies. You know those people who are always the victim and take no responsibility for their own choices. Not sure how this person still manages to maintain a viable business quite honestly. I was seeking wonderful quality care for my kids, not to play counselor or serve as owner's sounding board. She initially came across as a warm, caring (and religious) woman, but after time we saw the cracks in the facade. Too much emphasis is placed on things that money can buy (might be part of that eastside mentality) and not enough on things that really dictate a person's true character. I hate to be all negative, but truly our family did not have a great experience here and it took a long time for me to find alternate care that I felt comfortable with.
