Since they removed another tree a couple of years ago, I had/have full confidence in their ability to safely take down any large try that is growing close to my house. I also wanted to have some of the healthy hickory trees trimmed back from my neighbor's house. As they did so, they were careful to not cut off so much that it would damage these trees. Levi the owner was rushing…read morefrom the minute he got to our property, without a moment to spare to talk to me (the homeowner) about the work that needed to be done. He showed up late at 9:30 AM when he was supposed to arrive at 8-8:30 AM. The deck footer post that was supposed to be replaced for our sloping deck didn't get installed properly. The post installed was installed below the floorboards and currently only attached to our deck beams. Six bags of concrete were used for a single deck post footer and the concrete was soupy, compromising the compression strength of the concrete and will likely need to be redone. The deck pier they poured was also not above grade, which is something I had instructed Levi to do because the whole reason our deck was sinking was because the wood that was below soil had rotten out. The other part of the job was to paint the deck, but when we complained that he had selected the wrong color of paint which was supposed to match our vinyl siding, he threw a hissy fit and bailed on the project completely. Avoid this contractor at all costs and get someone reliable who will be there on time, who will take the time to listen to you, someone who won't cut corners, make excuses for why things weren't done properly and bail on the project altogether when they've made too many mistakes.
