The park is the best place to get your miles! That's because the park is a little more than a mile with just one walk around. You can get three miles done easy and it's an excellent workout for your body. Imagine doing three miles a day for a month! You'd be in better shape than you were just sitting in front of your computer making excuses for yourself. Go have fun and even meet some nice people too. read more

A little gem! Bloomingdale Park is a Clean, well maintained, beautiful park, with a nice playground. My kids love going there during Summer, the sprinklers are our favorite thing. The bathrooms are super clean, you can park in the front and the guy selling hot dogs, pretzels, water, etc, etc is a plus. read more

Staten Island's newest park is located in Woodrow. Bloomingdale Park's 138 acres are bordered by Ramona Avenue to the north, Lenevar Avenue to the east, Drumgoole Road W to the south, and Bloomingdale Road to the west. Much of area was preserved and remains habitable by wildlife. (There are birds of all sorts singing in the trees and woodland bunnies hopping along the trails.) The rest of it, though, was reserved for recreational use. Among the hiking and bike trails that currently exist, Bloomingdale Park is home to a baseball field, softball field, soccer field, basketball courts, and a playground with sprinklers and swings. There's also a bocce court. When this park first opened a few years ago, it was very deserted. You would see the occasional parent pushing his/her kid on the swing and the lone bicyclist barreling down the trails. Now, cars are always parked along Maguire Avenue (which cuts into the park from the north and south, never quite coming together to dissect it) and the adjacent streets. You're never alone when you're on the trails and the kids always have someone to run around with. There are also community events posted on a bulletin board, so you can always find something to do. This place has really come alive as of late, showing that such a lush park is just what this neighborhood needed. (Up until it was built, there were no ballfields on Staten Island south of Richmond Avenue.) read more

This is an adorable park and a great addition to the neighborhood. It features a playground with swings, slides, monkey bars and the like for kids, as well as benches, a walking path and even a bathroom. Note that dogs are NOT allowed in the children's play area, but dogs are allowed on the walking path and by the benches. If we go there, Teddy stays on the path, like a very good boy. I've never used the restrooms here, so I can't attest to their cleanliness, but it's great to know they have them, especially when coming here with kids. A gentle closing remark, as with any park, please leave nature nicer than you found it and place all trash in the designated bins. Thank you. read more

Love our neighborhood playground!! It features different sections for different age groups consisting of age-appropriate slides, monkey bars, swings and a children's play area. I took my girls around out of the playground area and we took a walk down the trail. Absolutely gorgeous and calming at the same time. Before they built this park there were probably 10,000 trees ,dumped Automobiles and other illegal dumping yet this park is amazing! Bathrooms are always cleaned, bocce courts well-maintained, play area for the children is impeccable, softball field and football field are far beyond others I have played on in many years.. what makes this park the best on the island is that there is no public transportation so the undesirables cannot access it so easily. It's surrounded by million dollar homes and people look out for each other. read more

Not the greatest run I have seen but about average for runs on Staten Island. Things it has going for it: - Plenty of parking - Has 2 separate dog runs - Adequate fencing - Plenty of shade - Has poop bag dispenser but no poop bags - Wood chip ground cover better than dirt Things it has against it: - No bathrooms for humans near run - No water - No seating - No poop bags - Neither run has a double gate entry area. These runs on the small size...Adding some more seating, having poop dispenser full and add double gate entries could make this a 3 star run. This is such a cute local park and great addition to the South Shore neighborhood. They have trails , a playground , sprinklers (in the summer) , a dog park, baseball fields , soccer fields, restrooms and more. Plenty of parking around the perimeter of the park. I always feel safe walking and jogging day or night here. On Saturday mornings there is Yoga held on the lawn! This park is great for people of all ages. I love this park. The trails are perfect for walking my dogs and one time around the whole park is a mile (I use my phone to calculate). They have basketball, a soccer/football area. The play area is nice for kids that are able to safely play on certain areas. My kids are older now, but the monkey bar area can be dangerous if left unsupervised for smaller children. I have seen my share of falls.. The sprinkler in the summer time is also great for kids. Dog park is ok small two gated two area. I usually walk my dogs in the trails, unless there isn't anyone in the gated area and its a nice day. It can get dirty even though there are wood chips, so if you don't mind your furry one getting messy & they get along ok with other dogs it's ok..don't forget to clean up after them there are plenty of garbage bags to throw out the poop.. read more

This was my first time here and what a great way to spend a morning! The park is pretty big and there is plenty of street parking surrounding the park. There is also a dog park next to the main area, but owners are free to run or walk with their dog on the paths. There are baseball and soccer fields, as well as basketball courts. One of the best parks on the south shore. It is great for all ages. There is a HUGE jungle gym that's sectioned off into babies, a little older and then the bigger kids section. There are water sprinklers that are adorable. Me and my boyfriend are always walk our dog here. There are many many dogs always walking around the park. Recently they built new trails that are dead in the woods. It's pretty cool at first you can get a little lost because the trail splits to many paths but it's great. The tress in fall are breath taking. There are also many deer you will see !!!! Pretty cool. read more

This park is a great place in Staten Island to go for a walk or a jog. There are several soccer fields, and large open sprawling grassy areas which hosts several movies in the park events in the summer. Plenty of space here to have a picnic. There is also 2 dog parks. Love to bring my littles here, and they love it too! There are two parts to the park for younger and older kids with plenty of seating for the adults. The sprinklers are great during the summer also. Also any park that has a bathroom I am not scared to have my littles in is an automatic a+ for me! For a public park bathroom it is actually pretty decent. read more

This park is great for people of all ages. The playground, which is nearly two playgrounds, is great and very accommodating for children and there are plenty of benches for parents to supervise. There are good old fashioned slides and monkey bars but there is also new, modernized playground elements. There is often an ice cream truck by the playground during the hotter times of the year. Runners, walkers, skateboarders, rollerbladers, and bikers alike can enjoy the park's paved paths. There are also some paths with tiny stones instead. There is also a small "dog park" which is just a fenced-off area for dogs and owners. There is a baseball field and a soccer field in mint condition. Every Halloween there is an event containing games, pumpkin picking, cotton candy, and more. Also there is a great variety of plants and trees. As for wildlife, I've seen some birds, squirrels and maybe one rabbit once. Overall, a very nice place to go to. read more
