They are very knowledgeable about knitting and sewing. With 27 grand children, I have purchased a lot of yarn for I have knitted many beautiful sweaters, hats, mittens and socks! Designing Woman is my first stop when looking for quality yarn and fabric. I have always felt appreciated and welcomed when I go into the store. The negative review just can't be true. Someone was having a very bad day! As for the remark about sitting, did she stop and think that maybe health issues kept one sitting rather than standing? Oriental Rugs Without the Oriental…read more Okay, when it comes to rugs, I'm the bee's knees. And when it comes to bees, I don't mind them that much, but luckily, there weren't any bees in Hamed Oriental Rugs. Let me just say this about the decor: hated it! The building was absolutely crawling with carpet! I think that when it comes to decorating, rugs can be a good thing, but one at a time and not hundreds of them piled on top of each other. Someone must have thought, "I have all of these rugs, but nowhere to put them," so they were stacked on top of each other like someone went, "Ta Daa!" when they were finished. Being new to the area, I wanted to get a feel for the decorations of the locals and I must say, I don't like what I've seen so far. As for the customer service, I was incredibly disappointed to find that we would not be receiving fortune cookies after making a purchase. Also, the lack of a small 70-something Chinese woman who knows roughly a dozen phrases in English (8 of which involve rug vocabulary) took away from the Oriental vibe of the place. I'm a visual person, so it needs to look like I'm in the Orient to buy an Oriental piece. My husband Winslow was able to start an argument with the people at Dimitroff's by repeatedly yelling things like, "Dimitroff's sucks!" and "Hamed kicks your a** at rugs!" at their building until an employee responded to our challenge with, "We're calling the police if you don't stop!" -1 point from Dimitroff's for un-friendly staff Another reason I got rid of a point was because of it's danger to small children. Kid friendly? Not in the least, so I left my 4 year old twin boys Wickliffe and Tenderloin in the car with the windows cracked. Tenderloin loves trying to stick his nose out in order to breathe; it's cute, really. +1 point for close parking. All in all, Hamed's was an experience worth having one time, and I'm glad I did it. I'll wrap this up by saying that we left without paying and will not be back. Pros: -No bees -No handicapped spots -Within shouting distance of Dimitroff's Cons: -Not kid-friendly -Way too many rugs -No old Chinese woman

She was also very affirming of those in our group who were more confident painters and wanted to put their own spin on the painting. Overall, a fun evening out and definitely worth the money. Most recently I took a canvas here to be framed, and the owner patiently answered my questions about various options and price ranges. I was a little disappointed in the turn around--10 days after putting in our gallery wrap order, they still hadn't started on it. But they redeemed themselves by finishing it that very afternoon. So overall it was a good experience.

In addition to a great selection of fabrics, they have a section of their shop dedicated to supplies for creating fabric purses & bags. Unique to other shops in the northeast Ohio area is a selection of supplies for cartonnage (covering cardboard with fabric) and collage quilting. All their fabrics are sold only by the half yard but they also have fat quarters cut for all their fabrics. The staff is always very friendly and will help you find what you need for your projects.
