Working from home is awesome. But anyone that has worked from home for a long stretch of time will also attest to the kind of crazy person you become when you don't need to leave the house for long stretches of time.
I have checked out a few co-working spaces around Melbourne to see if it's an idea I would entertain and a lot of them are very heavily focused on tech startups. Which is awesome if you're a fledgling tech startup, but it can also be a bit more distracting than productive if you're not. I love the space at Blix. It's a big, light, open space with a lovely fit out, a bar with beer and sparkling water on tap, a mix of sitting and stand-up desks and a good mix of businesses that call it home. Everyone is hard at work so it's not super noisy but also not so quiet that you feel awkward for talking.
For drivers, car parking is much easier than a CBD office. It's also just near the North Port tram stop on the 109.
They have casual and permanent desks, so it's perfect for dropping in to get out of your pjs for a day, or setting up a productive space that you don't also have to call home. read more
