Unfortunately, the experience we had was FAR from what others had. In the months leading up to our event, communication with Nuwave was inconsistent and significantly delayed on their end. As our event grew closer, our emails and calls to confirm were left unanswered and ignored. Two days before our event we found out the person we had been working with had been sick, which is understandable. What is NOT understandable is that they didn't have system in place to ensure that individual's clients were receiving quality customer service in his absence. The day before our event, we heard back that our initial contact was sick and someone else would be helping us. Then, at 4:03pm on the day of our carnial (which started at 4:30pm), we found out they weren't coming. We tried calling and asking them to come and provide the bare minimum of the package we placed a deposit on, but no response. We had to pivot and had many unhappy families and kids that evening because Nuwave cancelled on us.

Ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dance party; nothing but bangers and sweet jams. We invited our guests to put in a song request as part of their RSVP, not only did he match everything they requested he was able to blend the wide range of genres together, keeping the good vibes going. Have you ever been at a wedding and the ceremony is interrupted by technical difficulties ... well, let's just say technical difficulties didn't stand a chance against his sound system super powers. No awkward breaks, no speaker feedback, only high quality sound and easy to use equipment for first time users. Guests were swept into a romantic atmosphere of wedding happiness and love all due to DJ Chavo's mix master prowess. But you may ask, "Well DJ is just name and my friend DJ iPod and his assistant Spotify could do exactly that". Sure, if you like Bad Times at Ridgemont High, and kicking small animals, then iPod DJ is for you. However, if you are all about having a good time and having an actual dance party for your wedding, DJ Chavo is the only way to go. DJ Chavo is someone who can get carpets to be cut, feet to be loosed, moves to be broke, and the loss of one's mind in a particular location. Immediately after the first song was real timed mixed together one our surprised guests came to me with wide eyes and excited expression and said "what!? You got a REAL DJ"... since I am a smart person (like most of you reading this) I said of course, we wanted to have fun! "But how was he to work with? Those DJ's don't know how to organize", said the poor sucker who didn't hire DJ Chavo probably. He was fantastic to work with. He has a handy pre made questionnaire of wedding details and requests that we filled out to the best of our abilities before talking with him in person. He helped us refine our day-of schedule and round out details simply by talking about his experience as a DJ and what he has seen worked and what hasn't. Never did he once balk at an obscure indie hipster granola free-trade single source song request, he scoured the vast waves of internet music collections to find what we wanted. Day of he showed up on time and set up his stuff quickly and made sure to check who our VIP's were and last minute details and we were set. A single thumbs up from us kicked off the ceremony and was all that was need for DJ Chavo to dive into action. Hire this guy if you want to have the atmosphere and emotion of a wedding day, and Hire this guy if you think dancing is cool and something you want to have at your wedding.

We hadn't seen them in person before hiring them, but the videos online looked good and since we didn't have time to check out one of their shows, we pulled the trigger. We couldn't have been happier! SO many guests have told us our wedding was the best party they've been to in a long time. Their song mix was perfect, and the dance floor was packed the whole night. Turi's voice is amazing! One of our guests didn't dance, and when I asked him why, he said that he felt like he was at a really amazing concert and couldn't move he was so into the music. One super convenient thing was that they package in some additional ceremony sound things. So, when we got quotes from other bands, they would nickel and dime every line item (use of mic during ceremony - $100, use of speaker during ceremony - $200, etc). Getting ONE price that covered everything from Hipster Mama made our lives so much easier. Turi from Hipster Mama came to our vendor walk through and figured everything out, so we didn't have to worry about a single detail on the day of! Guests could hear both of us during the vows, the ipod music they played was spot on, and most of all, they kept the party dancing until closing time!
