Wendy's Yinspiration class is also a favorite of mine as I can feel the tension drift away from my body during the hour. No mattered how stressed I am entering the class by the end I feel at peace. I wish the class was offered in the evenings as I'm sure it would be a great way to ensure a peaceful and very restful sleep. Our instructor, Christine, gave us helpful guidance as we did the various moves. Since the movements were gentler than vinyasa yoga, we didn't even need mats. There's unpaved parking in the back of the free-standing building and a really nice garden as you walk up the few stairs to the entrance. Pleasant, interesting experience!

Power Vinyasa with Ann Monaghan was a wonderful class with a strong, beautiful flow. I would venture to say the class might have been a little challenging for very new beginners, but Ann gave lots of options for modifications for newer or more advanced (in terms of asana) practitioners. If you are new to yoga (and are not familiar with the sanskrit names for poses), I would recommend placing your mat in a place where you can see other students, as Ann did not demonstrate. I also found the temperature and humidity in the studio to be ideal for my preferences (on the warmer end of hot yoga, but a little shy of bikram conditions) and thought the practice room was clean and peaceful.

I got a little useless stretch and met lots of nice women. The studio is small and dark, easy to get to. New first time class members pay $12 then Classes are $17 per class or $65 unlimited for the month. However, Linda has a lot of opinions that you must agree with or prepare to be called out. She went off on a rant about how 'all women should be working and women should have their own money.' She then followed saying, 'i would be embarrassed to ask my husband for ten dollars for Dunkin coffee' I knew the comment was directed towards me because upon meeting her she was interested to know about my job and I explained how I left mine to help my husband run his business and be home to start a family. She immediately was concerned with why I wasn't working outside my home. When i confronted her about it after class, she made gave me the dismissive comment of 'sorry you took it personal'. It was personal, i'm not an idiot. The yoga itself was kind of a joke. We sat the entire time. It seemed more like a therapy session rather than yoga. I barely got a work out. I have gone to other prenatal Yoga classes which left my body much more stretched and was more beneficial for my body. if you do decide to come make sure you have your resume ready! I'm so happy I've finally found my yoga home :) The studio is so beautiful, plant filled, and smells absolutely amazing. BK has curated such a thoughtful space that you instantly melt into as soon as you climb up the stairs. She offers a variety of classes for all levels and every teacher I've had has been so lovely and helpful. You can create a little mini retreat on Sundays (they offer a series of classes you can take back to back if you want a nice reset). Sacred Ground is my favorite Sunday class. It's a nice mix of movement and meditation. I typically take Open Flow classes Monday and Wednesday mornings which are perfect for all different levels. I had taken a pause from yoga during pregnancy/postpartum and BK was able to assess my current level and offer really thoughtful adjustments each class to help me in my practice. If you're looking for a thoughtful, community-focused yoga practice that honors your body, mind and spirit, BK:ONE is the perfect place.
