Marina was wonderful, she was so patient with us and the kids and made the experience go by so quickly. She also captured some beautiful moments with the kids. We enjoyed our session a lot. Melanni was so helpful with photo selection and was able to guide us through with ease. It was all a very nice and memorable experience. Overall our photos were great and we had a great experience with our photographer. Two notes that gave this a 3 star instead of 5. 1) Overall, poor job setting expectation when it comes to pricing options. When we asked the concierge person how the process works, she mentioned that they would book a complimentary photoshoot and we can pay for as many photos as we want. I asked her how much it would be to buy 1 photo and she said it would be $17.50 for each individual photo. I thought that was reasonable. When we completed the photoshoot and reviewed the photos, which turned out nice, the gal showed us the price options and I was very surprised that it was $80 PER photo. So we would be incentivized to pay for the more expensive package. I brought up how she told me each photo would be $17.50 and we could buy as many as we wanted, she acted surprised. Overall, I wouldn't mind paying for the photo packages, but the costs should have been presented upfront instead of having us invest the time and energy to take the photos, see them, then review the cost for the first time. 2) Don't recommend any pose that risk injury to young kids. The photographer suggested us doing a pose it which we pull our daughter up for a "swinging" picture, which we did and I accidentally dislocated our daughter's wrist. It was me who yanked her too suddenly, so I take full accountability for that, however, that pose should not have been recommended in the first place. Our daughter started crying right after because her elbow hurt from having her wrist dislocated, which I felt terribly for. The photographer felt bad too. Thank God a chiropractor nearby who happened to be in the area, saw what happened, came by, and adjusted her wrist. She was better. read more

I was not impressed with this service at all. We booked a family complimentary 45 min shoot with our stay at Westin Ka'anapali. What they did not tell us was how pricey it would be. $80 each photo if you only want a few. The package gets cheaper the more photos you buy, but the next one up you're already looking to shell out $600 for 20 photos. There's no owner discount, just a small canvas gift. Personally, I wouldn't have minded paying the price if our photos were stunning. However, they were not. Our photographer did not get good angles of us and didn't check with us or direct us on how to make the poses better. Many of our photos one person was squinting with the sun so they were unusable. A lot of photos had bad lighting or many people in the background, which they don't edit for you. Our photographer was very sweet but didn't seem experienced at all. We ended up with only two photos we loved, paid $160, and felt completely robbed. I know the sitting is complimentary, however, there are many independent photographers here who will charge a lot less, take more time with you to get the perfect shot, and give you almost every single photo. Our photographer was very sweet which makes it tough to write this, however, she just didn't feel professional or experienced at all. Personally I would not use Blinnk again. Honestly surprised with how many great reviews it has. read more

The whole process from booking to viewing the photos were pretty seamless, everything is done through emails. They're located inside the Westin (North), which by the way Westin has 3 different complexes span about a mile it seems... we went to the wrong one and ended up a few minutes late to the appointment since we had to walk down the boardwalk a bit to meet the photographer. Her name was Alex, and she was amazingly sweet, even brought some toys for our one year old for pictures. She knows all the spots, but I'd have preferred more of the beach locations rather than at the resort itself - which was sort of my fault since she did ask if we had specific requests. We were really luck since it was overcast and sprinkling a little but, and ended up catching a rainbow for the pics. The viewing was nice and professional. I don't like how they structure their pricing though. I'd rather them charging us by the hour and we keep all the photos instead. It was around $800 plus tips for around 30s photos. With that being said, the turnaround time was pretty quick and we get the photos online the next day. I still would use them next time we're in town. Ask for Alex. read more

We did maternity pictures, $800 for 25 pictures. Very expensive and I felt like our photographer was novice level, she had a hard time telling us which pose to give, there are other people on the background in some of our pictures and we were told they can't edit to remove unwanted objects from the pictures. I downloaded photo edit apps and I edit our own pictures after spending that much money. The day we did our photoshoot the sunset was so beautiful but the pictures don't reflect that beauty. I wouldn't recommend blinnk photography. read more

Our 6th time to Maui, yearly vacation and stay at the Westin Nanea Ocean Villas. It is a tradition to have our pictures every year and extra special this year for our baby moon. Tiffany was our photographer was basically Ohana being from the Midwest also. Professional but friendly, and a true photographer. Plenty of shots to choose from, different angles, different locations. Also gave us some "dive-bar-ish," recommendations which we went to and was excellent! ( to go to - not for photo shoot :)) This is NOT one of those "complimentary," hotel 1 free picture, where you stop at a kiosk, they take 1 picture of you 2 feet away from there desk, and print a free 4-6. These ARE professionals photographers. You get what you pay for, plus you are in Hawaii, expect to pay more. We returned the following morning to meet with Savannah at The KOR lobby and previewed all the pictures, helping us select the ones we wanted. NO pressure tactics to buy or purchase more, as she reviewed all the pricing, made the experience feel very comfortable. I'm not sure where to start. Maybe I'm spoiled with my photographer back home in California, or maybe my expectations in general were just too high. I wish I would have never entertained the idea of getting photographs done here. No real beach photography and just little areas around the resort. First- "complimentary" photograph session. Let's get real. You're doing this photograph session because you want photographs. It's just complimentary that they accepted your appointment. You're going to pay for it with the packages. Second, the photographer was novice at best. Don't get me wrong. Total sweetheart, likeable, gets the job done. Just, not a "professional" photographer with those AMAZING photographs that make your heart drop when you see them. 148 photographs were taken and maybe, MAYBE 20% of them were ok. The rest we were talking, moving positions, just not "ready" for the photograph. I get candid photos, too, but these weren't it. Also, go to your viewing appointment otherwise it's a $250 non-refundable fee to look at your photographs online. You can apply that fee to purchase your photographs, but your hands are kind of tied then. I couldn't make my viewing (due to an illness) so I paid the fee hoping I would find these amazing photographs and had a hard time picking out twenty images for the package. Blah. Just blah. Keep looking. Sorry for the review Blinnk. First off, Blinnk was great to work with! On our arrival day, I was able to setup a morning shoot (6:30a-sunrise) that fit in our schedule and a review session for the day after. On the day of the shoot, we met our photographer downstairs at the kiosk and were shooting pictures by 6:31a. She worked with us to make sure we captured plenty of pictures of our kids and of the entire family. One piece of feedback would be to decline taking pictures with the resort/rooms as a backdrop. We had a great family picture of us seated, but the background was rooms/balconies. Other than that minor issue, the experience was great and super convenient. Just got our family pictures from Blinnk, and we are beyond happy with them. We had a group of 8- grandma, 3 adult kids, spouse, and 2 young grandkids, one with special needs. Colleen, our photographer was great working with all ages, especially the littles. I'm glad my resort offered this service. It is impossible for me to get my husband to voluntarily take good non-selfie photos of us together, especially on beach vacations when there's not a lot of opportunities because most times we're dressed for the pool and sweaty from being in the sun. A professional photography session isn't something we'd normally sign up for, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have good pics in such a beautiful environment. We went for it, knowing that at worst, we'd only invest 45 minutes of our time and wouldn't have to buy any pics if we ended up not liking them. Jeff was our photographer, and he was really friendly and gave us thoughtful tips on how to adjust our poses. We took photos at both the resort and on the beach. I felt like our 45 minutes was used efficiently. We did a viewing session the next day, which was also handled efficiently. We went through each photo and said "yes" or "no" to each. Based on the number of photos we picked, the guy assisting us gave us our options and the chance to remove or go back and look at the photos again to add more. I didn't feel like he was giving us any pressure or getting salesy with us. We liked quite a few photos and ended up going with the 10 digital photo package. It was rather pricy, but I feel like you should know that going in. It's $79/photo if you buy a la carte, $480 for 10 photos, and $600 for 20 photos plus tax and service fees. For me, personally, it was worth it so I could enjoy my vacation instead of worrying about finding opportunities and random strangers on the spot to snap good pics of us. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't so expensive, but I guess you have to account for the photographer's time taking and editing the photos and, like many vacation-related expenses, there's going to be an upcharge. read more

We had three generations of our family visit Maui and scheduled a photo shoot with Blinnk. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate for us and although it was a busy Thanksgiving week Blinnk found time to accommodate us during another time slot that did end up providing great weather. We had a fairly large party and he did captured so many great shots of our family. He really captured some amazing shots of our children as well. On our recent trip to Maui, we were pleasantly surprised to be offered a free photography session by Blinnk Photography. It was July 4th week and we were pretty busy with pre-planned activities so I didn't get around to calling for an appointment until Tuesday, the day before the 4th. They were booked pretty solid through the end of the week but we were leaving on Friday. They said they would try to squeeze us in on Wednesday and would call to confirm. They actually came through and we had a sunset session on the 4th! On the day of our session, Tiffany took us around the hotel and found some really nice backdrops for our photos. I had just married two of our friends on Monday so we got great group shots of everybody, just my friends, just our family, just my kids and just my husband and me. She even got us close to the beach like we told her we wanted. She was very professional and got great shots. Since we were leaving Friday, Gemma squeezed in a review session for us the next afternoon. We had over a hundred shots but we were able to narrow it down to 40 of our favorite. But first, she showed us a little video montage of the ones that they liked the most. Weaved throughout the video were candid videos that Tiffany had taken of us during the shoot. It was an extra special way to memorialize our memories. We asked for a couple of photos to be touched up. Gemma sent us the links to our photos and video a few days later. One photo that we had asked for in color was still black and white. I sent an email and left a voicemail asking for the photo to be corrected and resent. Gemma was out, but Michelle stepped in to get the photo to us as soon as possible. Weeks later, I found out that my friends had never received the email and the link to the video was no longer available. After a quick email to Blinnk asking for the links to be reactivated and resent, my friends got the email and were able to retrieve all the photos and video. Tiffany, Gemma and Michelle made our Maui memories extra special with their attentiveness and responsiveness. Photo packages are a little pricier than other photographers but well worth the cost. This is one of my favorite photo sessions ever. read more

My family was vacationing with my parents to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday and Thanksgiving and I decided last minute that we should have photos to commemorate our vacation and also just to have nice family photos. Blinnk was able to fit us in the next day and at sunset (my favorite time for beautiful light)! The only problem with a photo session around dinner time is that little kids tend to crumble and mine did. I felt like we were a disaster, but Sean managed to take fantastic, relaxed and happy photos that don't show any of the kids' chaos! We were able to view the photos the next morning (so fast - I am used to waiting 2-6 weeks for photos from our regular photographers at home) and they are BEAUTIFUL! I am so happy that I made the decision to go with Blinnk! read more

We had a really great experience with Gemma. It's extremely convenient to be able to do this on-site, and there's no obligation but the photos won't disappoint and you will want them :-) The pricing was fair. The more photos you get, the cheaper they are and you get all your digital rights to the photos to download. I also just want to make a comment that in working with professional photographers in the past, a typical turnaround time is something like 1 - 2 weeks. Photos take work, and so for Blinnk to be able to show them all to you basically the next day, and then even crazier to make edits within that same day or the next just to accommodate your vacation, is just insanely fast. Beach photos FYI: We didn't get beach photos but if you can take the 6am session with the lovely sunrise, you probably can. read more

On our recent family vacation to Maui, we had a goal of getting good family pictures, but we didn't want to spend all day or a ton of money to get them. Thankfully we were staying at the Westin Nanea Beach Resort, and we ran into Blinnk Photography located next to the lobby. The best thing about it was the convenience; we were able to start the photo shoot less than a hundred yards from our hotel room. Overall, our experience was very positive. We got a couple pictures that were perfect for our Christmas card, a canvas on our wall, and of course, Facebook. We have received a ton of complements on the shots, particularly the artistic setup that our photographer, Gemma, setup taking the photo behind us while we looked at our kids. It was a fantastic, artistic result that we never would have come up with nor could we have pulled it off. A great benefit of Blinnk over some of the other photographers that we considered during our trip is that there is no obligation. Basically, if we didn't like any photos we didn't have to buy them. We intended to just buy a single photo for our Christmas card but ended up liking a few others enough to get them too. The prices are per-photo and included the digital copies so that we could print them, edit them, and otherwise do with them what we wanted. We thought the prices per print were a bit steep, but since they included the photo session, in the end if you are getting 1-3 or 4 photos it is reasonable; any more than that and you will want to upgrade to the package deal that I think included 20 or so prints. As far as some complaints or negatives that we have to bring up. Our purpose in taking the pictures was for family pictures, and we clearly communicated this to Gemma. We were pretty clear that we didn't want a bunch of individual photos of the kids as we are pretty decent photographers and can take our own shots of our kids and have thousands of good ones anyway. We wanted her to focus on family shots and we were a bit annoyed at the time wasted on taking individual shots and not family shots despite our instructions and continued reminders. That said, Gemma was excellent with the kids and they smiled well and interacted great with her, but it ended up being a waste of time. Also, you will want to be aware that apparently professional photography is banned on Kaanapali beach itself, so we weren't able to get any beach shots with Blinnk. This isn't their fault, but if a beach shot is a must beware that you may want to consider a different photographer at a different location since you won't be able to get them at Kaanapali. But they did a nice shot on the boardwalk with the ocean in view that we loved, and the convenience and time saved to be able to just walk out of our hotel room and start the photo shoot couldn't be beat. read more
