While it was a little out of the way, I figured why not just go check it out. I got there about 10:40am and I was awkwardly the only shopper. The lady behind the counter, (presumably the owner?) said, 'Shopping for anything in particular' I said, 'nope just browsing', and that was the end of the conversation!! She didn't follow up with an 'Ok, well I'm blah-blah-blah, if you need help let me know,' or 'Our current sales are this...' or 'Have you been here before?' ... nothing. It was so awkward because I was the only person (besides her) in the store. There's no music or anything & you can literally hear each one of my steps as I mosey through the store, browsing. This was a bit shocking, considering the reviews raved about the cute clothes and superior service. The clothes, definitely cute. Very trendy, not outrageously overpriced, that of which you'd expect from a boutique. But the service, (if that's what you want to call it) was was nonexistent. In her defense, I was in a sweatshirt, running shorts and flip flops- hardly looked like I belonged in such a trendy store, but still no excuse for such poor service (and you shouldn't judge people on appearance, if that was the case). Not only that, She watched me as I walked through the store, and the second I was inches away from the door, she loudly yells, 'THANKS!' I guess that was kind. Anywhoo-- Cute clothes, but not worth time or effort. I'd go elsewhere.

The merchandise is all custom made in house, designers, pattern makers, seamstress'... all in house! They actually go to Japan and buy genuine kimono's and remake shirts, vests, scarves, jackets... anything. The can even custom design exactly what you want. Every piece is like art and truly one of a kind. It is all very expensive, right down to the few genuine Asian home decor pieces, but it is so worth it if you have that kind of budget. If you need the pieces taken in, extra fabric added, or even a button/zipper replaced; it's all done for free... for the price you pay it's sort of like a guarantee... I love to go in every now and again to see the new pieces!

This is their opening weekend and due to my having to drive there in the middle of the day, I was only able to pursue the latter. That's OK, because the latter was being offered in abundance AND what's more, it was all discounted due to opening weekend! Even a wine & spirits enthusiast like Yours, Truly, will take a good sale over a drink any day of the week. The store is sectioned according to each boutique (the store is a collective). Focus seems to be on indie designers. There is a wicked jean selection, and a variety of clothing styles to suit every taste, including my own, which I might add, is quite picky. I especially appreciated the super cute coat and jackets they have right now (to the right as you enter the store) and the studded purses and bunches of blingy costume jewelry and other accessories artfully strewn about the store. I should also add that the ambiance of the store lends itself very well to shopping, drinking and socializing. I LOVE the fashion plate murals on the wall and unique mannequins. Amazon.com had a huge bunch of cheap Indonesian knock-offs for sale and they all looked low quality. Eventually, we perfected our search and up popped Celtic Ranch. Ordering the correct size is difficult, and the cheap apparel from southeast Asia, is made for people who are quite a bit smaller height-wise. So I ordered some items and quickly determined what size worked for me, so I sent some items back for the correct size. One item I ordered off Amazon and it was a bit convoluted to do a return, but dealing directly with Celtic Ranch was a dream. I was able to get an RMA and within days the correct sizes were shipped! All of the items, from the vests to the scarf, to the hat and grandfather shirts are high quality and are durable. Not only do I want to order more items for me and my lass, but if we're ever in the neighborhood we want to pop in to the store and say hello! Great job, Celtic Ranch. You do the Irish proud!
