You can hardly meet a person without getting your cart over under the right side rack of clothing. And don't even think about meeting another cart. 2) They need to remember why thrifting became popular in the first place. There really isn't any need to go to a thrift store if their items are priced like those in an antique mall. Just go to the antique mall. 3) Price have been rising for some time at Goodwill stores. I will NOT buy an item there that I can get brand new at local stores. 4) All items are donated. They keep the very best items to sell at their On-line stores. They make a big profit on those items. I don't believe that it's necessary to gouge the working class. There are many people, like me, who love to browse in these stores looking for antiques. Some people shop Goodwill to replenish the shelves of their booths at local Antique Malls and Flea Markets. But the majority of people who shop there do it out of necessity . They need to cloth their families and furnish their homes. It just isn't fair of Goidwill to gouge these people with rising prices to make millions of dollars for stock holders and CEOs. 4). If prices continue to rise I, for one, will stop shopping there, and only shop Antique malls and better yet, Antique Stores. That's why I no longer step inside the Red Rack (VFW) stores. Prices are so high that I can buy new for about the same price, or at times, even cheaper!!! 5) Goodwill Inc. needs to realize that it's the people who shop there out of necessity that fill their coffers. They need to stop gouging these people or they will be the ones going out of business!!!

The staff has always been nice to me and I have seen them be patient with rude customers. They have an interesting history with a very sad and poignant story, but the store works to promote suicide awareness and support single mothers. If I'm honest, I'm reviewing it more from the point of view of a shopper and I can say that it is clean and well organized. They were running some dirt cheap sales on the day I visited and had I been in need of specific categories, I would have made some great purchases for very little money. If you're a thrift shopper like I am, I'd recommend checking it out.

It's a crap shoot to shop here for many reasons. Most of the electronics I have purchased from them, especially old-school vintage stuff, has not worked or would half-work. They have a testing station and I highly recommend you test these types of items. As for media, Blu-Rays are over-priced, although I have found some interesting titles in there that I have not seen anywhere else, for instance promotial releases that were never made available to the general public, like films that were produced by Netflix or Amazon. Those ARE worth the asking price for sure. AS for cd's, I have had better experiences, but prices are in the $2-4 range, which is, depending on what you find, expensive. If you look at it another way, you'll do worse on e-bay, but I like those places that sell media in the $1-3 range for cd's, dvd's, blu-rays, etc. Bottom line: Red Racks is certainly an interesting place, but can be a frustrating experience as well.

They were having 50% off wi yer clothes and shoes. I left with 2 coats, 4 pairs of shoes, leather pants, two sweaters and two belts. There clothes are so nice and very reasonable. I stayed two hours and found lovely things. The employees (all volunteers) were delightful and very helpful. I'll be back next time I am in Springfield!
