In this current environment it is so nice to know that the teachers and staff genuinely care about the students. Both of my girls were standouts in High School. Teachers in High School would often comment that they noticed the firm grasp they had on all the educational basics and even commented that they must have not studied in the public school system. While both of my daughters have since graduated college and gone on to professional careers in tech and education, the friends they made at CLA are for life. A large majority of their fellow classmates graduated college from top institutions and also benefited from this great education. I can think of no better opportunity for any parent to watch their children blossom and grow in a caring environment, than we experienced at CLA

I am sad to have to write this review. I had such high hopes for the education my three girls would…read morebe receiving, but I feel I must be honest.. After being promised that my girls would leave CLA and enter honors classes at any public school, I find myself saddened by what their time at this school really produced. The teachers were portrayed to be highly qualified, but instead I found the teachers in the middle school classes unprepared with materials that were being presented. After having my girls tested in a public school, I find they are behind. My children are behind a year because of the mediocre curriculum and the unqualified teachers using it. There are profound security issues on the campus including: no guards, access to the building through unlocked and propped doors. After attempting several times to take my concerns to administration, I find the self-elected board and administration to be unresponsive. I am saddened that I had to withdraw my three girls, but can only pray and hope that Christian Life Academy will one day listen and learn from their mistakes. It is my hope by writing this painfully honest review that things will change.

I asked them specifically Katie to put it in writing that they are refusing to accept payment for services for my stepson and they refused. She continued on and had me on speaker phone with the prior owner beside her I believe her name was Julie. They were belittling and confrontational. All I wanted to do is pay my husbands portion of his bill as they have accepted in the past. Absolutely insane. I really did think at first this was a great environment now I am not so sure

Horrible experience with this place. I called over a month ago and explained I would be moving to…read morethe area. I wanted to see if I could get my daughter enrolled and was told it was no problem at all. Great, that was easy! They sent me an information packet and I scheduled a visit to take a tour. This morning I packed my 2 young children in the car and drove 40 minutes to the school (because I still haven't moved yet) When I got there I sat down with Sue and was immediately told nothing was available until AT LEAST 4 months out. Are you kidding me? That's NOT what I was told when I first called in. And what complete disregard for my time. When I explained my frustration all I got was a "aw, yeah well sorry". How disrespectful. I could have spent the last month looking for another place that does have availability. Obviously this is a very disorganized establishment. Would not recommend wasting your time here.

The balance between "work" and play was excellent. When Kindergarten came, they were all ready to go and I loved that most of their classmates went to the same elementary school. Raj, who runs the Trumbull and North Haven center is very easy to work with as well. I like that they offer support classes but also classes for enrichment. My son, who's a bit mite advanced in both subjects, is no longer feeling unchallenged in school because he takes these classes in between! MATH: With today's changing times where elementary and middle schools are leaning toward the common core German method of teaching (like the more well known and reputable universities in our country!) I think a program like this is going to be critical to helping our children understand the fundamentals of math. Schools today may not be able to teach both with an aggressive/limited school schedule unlike foreign countries who attend school year round and have the proper time. I have already found my son living to solve math problems and testing himself on skills. Unprompted! READING: great to learn handwriting, reading technique. My son has always loved books but now I find he's also loves writing things for me to read. It's awesome. We also discovered in school he is a speed reader and enjoys long novels. These classes ares teaching him how to use words properly and also the various meaning to the same words. Including sound variations. Summary: well worth the investment.
