Their foods as good as their AI slop website and signs: lazy. If you can't take pride in your work why do it at all?

We've been told we HAVE to give Cracker Barrel a try esp since we've never been. So we decided to…read moregive it a go. Upon arrival we were rather confused because we walked right into a store and had no idea where the restaurant was until we followed the big crowd that came in after us. Once seated the tables were still rather dirty but after we asked for it to be cleaned they were quick about it. We ordered our food, and it did take a while to come out but it looked like everyone around us was waiting too but once one table's food came out we all had our food come out. My husband had French toast while I had one of their special plates with biscuits and gravy, eggs and their hash browns. My food came out a bit cold, and I think my favorite part of my plate was just the biscuit. We ordered a side of the garlic steak tips and the cinnamon apples to try and both of those were delish! For our little guy we ordered cinnamon pancakes but we're brought cereal "funfetti" they said they could remake it but it may take 15-20 minutes. We decide to just keep the plate for our little guy. After eating we decided to shop around the store a bit and man oh man was everything pricey. I ended up grabbing a little onesie for our kiddo but everything else was certainly more trinkety. Overall an okay experience, we're glad we tried it.

First, I don't know how many times we circled around to find the entrance until we realized we have to go through the gift shop to get in. Second, the menu was very limited. There wasn't really anything appetizing but since we're already there, we just ordered whatever from the menu. We got two steak entrees, a fish and fries, another item I can't remember. Yeah that's how bad the experience was. As expected, nobody enjoyed it. No one finished any of the entrees. There's no condiments available in the tables. I wanted catsup for my friends but we didn't know where the server was. There was only one other customer in the restaurant so it wasn't busy at all. We spent over $100 here for a meal we didn't enjoy. Never again.....

We waited for about 20 minutes for our table, once we were sat we were quickly greeted and the food came out quickly after that. We decided to get some of the seasonal dishes that we unfortunately dont remember the names of but they weren't dishes that we would recommend. The portions themselves are huge and we probably Could've shared one. I ended up getting a fun watermelon lemonade mocktail that came with a souvenir cup where if you pick it up it shines and image on the table. My husband ordered a mojito and got a glass souvonir cup that we needed to pick up at the bar but we decided against it because we didn't need any additional glassware at home. Because they were getting ready to close the restaurant, we rarely saw our waiter after we got our food so we sat for a while just waiting to close out while everyone cleaned up around us. There were a few other larger parties on the other side too and we got startled by the constant birthday songs on a weekday, haha.

You pay for the ambiance but at least our food tasted good. Kid had the steak from the kids menu and said it was delicious. None of us particularly liked the fries. I got a salad which was basic and decent. My husband got salmon and shrimp. I ate the shrimp. The whole plate was delicious. We got the volcano desert. It was enormous and fun to get. But we didn't need that much dessert. This would be better for 4 of 5 people to share. Or order it first and then get food after eating this to know how hungry people are. We were impressed there was a guy going to all of the tables to make the kids balloon animals.

There is a Costco in New Berlin that is a smig closer to my home, but they don't have a Cheddars near them. The food is always fresh and so good. The service is fantastic every time I go. Today we started off with the complimentary croissants. My husband had the 6oz sirloin smothered in mushrooms and onions, a side salad and fries. I had the lemon pepper whitefish over rice, mashed potatoes with cheese and bacon and cut off the cob corn. It was absolutely delicious. I have had the ribs, several, several, and several times. Sometimes I will stop after Costco and get them for dinner. I get a whole rack and extra sides and it is dinner for the both of us. The ribs are so good here. Other great things that I have had are the chicken sandwich, the chicken pot pie, monte cristo, steak, philly cheesesteak, chicken alfredo, bourbon glazed salmon with shrimp, grilled shrimp alfredo, ribs and steak combo, and burgers of all kinds. Everything was so fresh and so good.

We ordered several appetizers, and they were all pretty mid. The buffalo shrimp was not cooked all the way through. The batter was still wet. The trio was not served hot. We all ordered our steaks medium well, but every single one came out well done. The main reason I came was for the Monte Cristo, and they had run out, which was extremely disappointing. The only positives were that my nephew enjoyed his burger, and my brother and sister enjoyed their drinks. Other than that, the entire visit was disappointing and a waste of money. Between finding a hair in the food, undercooked appetizers, overcooked steaks, and the restaurant being out of the one item I came for, I do not see myself coming back.
