I planned on going inside to pay since I wanted to get a drink. The lady came over the intercom to tell me it was a prepay pump. At most gas stations, you can pay at the pump instead of going inside. I tried that but was told I had to come inside. There was I sign in the pump indicating you had to prepay. It even allows you to choose pay inside or pay at pump. I said to myself "screw that," so I went across the street to Shell. This location seems a little shoddy even though it's not in a bad area.

The dog park is our dog's favorite part of the trip obviously and it was free of poop on both sides. The two sides allow you to keep your dog separate from another person's pets if you wish. If you want to either let them play together or just give your dog more space to frolic and play, you can open the gate between the two sides for the full experience. We also love that we can quickly grab tasty tenders from the attached Bojangles.

This place is all torn up…read more This pilot gas station is connected to a Wendy's. They're doing major construction and while they are open, I don't recommend stopping there. Typically I do stop at Pilot stations. We stopped for the Wendy's. Food was fine. Bathrooms are out in a trailer. In the men's room, one stall contained a very full toilet. The other had a broken door handle and was un-openable. The seat on my chair at Wendy's wasn't attached to the rest of the chair. The other thing I noticed was what appears to be a solar powered set of security cameras in the parking lot. That made me wonder if the area has a crime problem or if they're just worried about crime during the construction. Attempted to buy gas. There's a note on the pump to press skip if you see an unexpected prompt. I hit skip twice before getting a message to "see cashier". Rather than going back in, I just drove elsewhere - where the pump worked fine using the same card. I drive up and down I-55 multiple times a year, and I think this place has been under construction for awhile. That will be my last stop until they get their $hit together.
