I simply cannot comprehend how there are 50/50 mixed reviews on here. Does she have a mix of good *and* bad days while working? I don't understand. Here's my experience and something I'm still currently dealing with. A month ago, Nov. 11, 2024. I had my service done with Kourtney. I am, myself a licensed cosmetologist so I've done my own hair for the last 3 years. I had a grown out balayage, and for my birthday wanted to have it done by someone who *seemed* like a professional. After seeing Kourtney's instagram, with 30K followers, what seems to be a good reputation, and shares that she educates other also, I had very high hopes that I'd be happy with my hair. After driving an hour and a half to her, I showed her my inspo picture, which was JUST. A. REGULAR. BALAYAGE. I simply wanted to be lighter, brighter, and to leave feeling refreshed! After all this was a simple birthday gift to myself. My hair was virgin on the roots, grown out. NOTHING hard to do. After leaving Kourtney's chair, I wanted to cry when I saw it in better lighting in my car. (It gets dark out at 5 so her big window was all dark therefore not giving me a good look at what my hair *actually looked like*). It was completely different and DARKER than what I wanted and came to her with. After feeling unhappy, I messaged her on instagram. A few days past, no reply. Another few days I took it upon myself to contact the salon for her phone number. I've sent her photos of what I left with and asked her if we can fix this. I've since had to message her multiple times and it has been weeks. I double checked that I had the right phone number with the salon, they confirmed. She had been posting on Instagram so I knew it was intentional that I was being ignored. I check back on her profile, SHE BLOCKED ME. It's been a month with NO response, no accountability, no reply nothing. And she. BLOCKED ME. DO NOT GO TO HER. SHE IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL. Behavior like that is just sad. I've been nothing but kind, patient and very understanding in the messages I've been leaving, since trying to reach out. This is simply disgusting behavior and to know after reading a few negative comments on here that this is normal behavior? Absolutely disgusting to take peoples hard earned money. I will not stop until I get a reply even if that means COMING TO YOU KOURTNEY. The pictures I'm leaving: *My face is scratched out in the car is the day BEFORE my appointment. Again, it was grown out. I simply wanted to be brighter, blonder, refreshed* The face scratched out in the bathroom is a few days/week after our appointment. The pictures of me in a salon chair is my FRIEND fixing it for me. Look at how horrible the blending is???????? How horrible every detail of my hair was?????? Got my hair done by Kourtney a couple months ago. The appointment took several hours and she was drinking white claws during the entire appointment. I tried to have the benefit of the doubt for my hair but was concerned almost immediately after leaving. I messaged her to let her know my hair was MUCH darker than I had asked for and she had put a shadow root on that I did not want. She suggested washing to see if that helped. I just got my hair done by a different stylist and the whole time she was pointing out how "interesting" my hair had been done previously while showing me chunks of brown and blonde hair. This lady is an absolute disaster she took five hours to do my hair with multiple long breaks taking 20 to 30 minutes in the bathroom her husband brought her a white claw mid service... My hair turned out horrible... I asked for highlights and it's so far from that I have lines all over my head from botched highlights. my hair is falling out and breaking like crazy! read more

Forgot to mention don't believe her IG posts she doesn't get your hair to what she posts ! I showed her pics of previous clients from her pics and videos from her posts and she says she can get your hair to that color but does the total opposite! Kourtney text me (didn't even bother calling me) 45 minutes before my hair appointment and canceled due to plumping issues at the salon. She offered to reschedule (after I drove from Lake Tahoe for her services) My issue isn't the plumbing, I get it, stuff happens. My issue came with her refunding my deposit. My immediate response was asking for my $100 back as I'm not scrambling to book a last minute appointment somewhere else in town. She continued to blow me off for over an hour after I text and called her and then blocked me on Instagram saying I was harassing her-- for my money back. I have never had such an unfortunate and disappointing experience with a stylist. read more

If you're looking for a stylist who will only do what THEY want to do and won't listen to your ideas and what you want-then Kourtney with Blassom Hair is perfect for you! During the consult, I spent 10 min discussing my hair likes/dislikes, showing pics of what I like/don't like. I really relied on Kourtney's alleged expertise to deliver a "painted hair" blonde balayage look. I wanted to have her transform my hair from drab outgrown hair to a "bright blonde". I figured for $110 per hour, that she charges, she would be mirroring the phenomenal work she posts on her Instagram. I was fooled folks! Kourtney did whatever she wanted in her shabby salon with honkey tonk country music blaring, which is located in an old apartment complex in the middle of a scary neighborhood with awful indoor lighting in the salon. For example, not even a roll of paper towels in the bathroom; just a dirty towel on the towel-rack to dry your clean hands on. While blow drying & styling my hair she turned me away from the mirror to "surprise" me and toward the end she even dropped the curling iron on top of my head without even an apology (OUCH!). Thankfully the hot iron landed on the floor and not on my lap. I can't even make any of this up-this gal is a disaster and super unprofessional. Once she spun me around for my "voila" moment, I looked in the mirror and was in absolute shock. My hair was so brassy and orange-red toned. As a brunette wanting to be blonde-this is a nightmare. I said immediately "oh this is really different...seems a bit red here..." to which Kourtney quickly mentioned how the lighting could be impacting my view and took me outside to take pics. Another huge warning-she only takes Venmo. I paid her over $425 for my lackluster 90's style highlight job which included a tip even though I was less than thrilled. So I decided to wash my hair myself the next day and style it-praying for some miracle to wash away this disaster. But it was still brassy and awful. See my pics for yourself. I messaged Kourtney who offered to "tone" my hair at no additional charge. And when I asked for her to make it blonde which was my INITIAL request upon coming in, she said it would be "extra charge for a blonding process" and that I should use "purple shampoo to help with the brass tones". I texted her telling her I would NOT be paying "extra" for the job which she should've initially done and that "purple products" are to be used as a preventative measure from turning brassy. Mind you-whenever I sent her a text it would take her 4 days for a response. Super unprofessional! She did not respond to my texts for several days and after consulting with more seasoned stylists I asked her for a partial refund to go find someone else to fix the awful botch-job she did on my hair. She has not responded and I presume that she has now blocked me due to her lack of response. In a nutshell-don't waste your money on Kourtney's fraudulent "balayage and painted hair" services. Like many of us women we are very particular with our hair & finding someone that does beautiful work can feel impossible so you just stick with either being disappointed or stick to the person that does the job. Kourtney doesn't just do the job. She truly cares about what you want and wants to make sure you leave feeling amazing. She is great at throwing out ideas if you're unsure, want something new or stuck in what you're just used to. I have very fine blonde hair & wear extensions. Perfection! 3rd try attempting to find someone that could do this for me & Ive been loving my hair since. My younger cousin has extremely thick light brown hair. She was ready for her first salon haircut ever. I've never seen such joy as she looked in the mirror seeing her hair beyond her expectations. The salon is in a private unit that is the perfect size. You get Kourtney one on one without all the chaos that sometimes comes with large salons. Its very comfortable. I'm not one that particularly enjoys taking so much time out of my free time in a salon. Kourtney is on it. She doesn't waste your time. She knows what she is doing. With that being said you are never rushed out. It also doesn't hurt that Kourtney is a wonderful person & has you instantly feeling comfortable. I rarely post yelp reviews but here is my experience. initially Kourtney let me know she was running late and that was fine as I was driving 1.5 hrs and was a bit behind myself. Yay we are in sinc; I had been looking forward to this appt for several weeks because I was looking for someone that could do the icy blonde and blend my natural platinum coming in and avoid that nasty outgrowth line, I don't try to color that I'm trying to go with it. she was nice, took awhile but started foiling the front first which is the most delicate for lifting I was concerned but did not question. she foiled and let me know how people that are good with blonde aren't afraid to push and I'm like yes ! Great placement and the color looked awesome! Except for 2 things... she did a root smudge on my even after we talked about not having that issue of outgrowth and that gold stuff and also my hair broke off in the front a lot but I didn't see how much really but knew it was... honestly that day the color did look great.. however my hair was so fried I had to cut it all off and I have unwanted curtain bangs. When my bangs were originally past my chin and my length middle of my back... I reached out to Kourtney, she responded a week later saying she promised to get my hair back to healthy and my hair wasn't used to her product so I said ok let me show you some pics and asked if she had any tips... she did not respond but the message was read. I was very disappointed and waited and a week later put a ? Like are you going to answer me... she didn't, so I waited a bit more and then I just let her have it in messenger, she read did not respond so I cut and pasted my pics and my message in her insta feed and she finally responded. She victimized herself a bit because I was harsh but honestly I gave her a lot of grace. She offered me a partial refund. I said I didn't want it but would like to come back and get my hair back to healthy. She says we aren't a good fit.. which is likely true but gave me 100 dollars back which is less than what I spent to have someone else cut my hair off and products to repair. I had to cut 6 inches off and my bangs are broken in some places to the scalp. Super disappointed, I felt compelled to write a review as I see a couple of others have had a bad experience. Kourtney is a miracle worker. My daughter's hair was in bad shape (over processed, bleached, colored multiple times). She decided she wants to go back to her natural color so Kourtney did a balayage, enhancing her natural color and roots and blending it with the blonde while also making the blonde match her skin tones better.
