    I'm really sad to be posting this review. I was a frequent flyer at blank canvas. When I had long hair there I had my services done there time and time again and it was lovely! I sometimes didn't achieve exactly the look I was going for but it was always beautiful regardless. Not to to long ago I shaved my head after allowing it to grow out a bit I decided some shaping and texture was definitely needed as well as my blonde color. I made an appointment for the salon and realize that my sitter had canceled and I would have to bring along two children with me. I texted the salon and let them know that both of my children would have to come and then I completely understand and would love if we could reschedule they told me it wouldn't be an issue and they will be somewhere for them to sit clients did it all the time. So reluctantly I brought the kids in and they were complete angels from the moment I walked in one of the hairdressers had said it was strange and she had never seen kids come along before. woman cutting my hair aggravated i asked her to help me style it because she "had another client to get to" What am I chop liver? I received several dirty looks and eye rolls from numerous employees. My children sat silently for two hours after two hours they got up and giggled for all of 2 minutes one of the hair dressers suggested they sit in the processing room because no one was in there so they did and you could hear them giggling but literally nothing major within seconds the shop owner came over and said "can you have your kids sit down with you they can't be jumping around this is a place of calm and quiet. She walked away before I could explain that her employee had suggested they go in there. It was so uncomfortable, loud and mom shaming. On top of all of this I asked for a champagne gold hair color and showed a photo of the color I wanted. (I've attached a before, after and expected photo of the color. The woman who did my hair was a complete doll and very very sweet I didn't want to upset her but just said that I felt my hair looked yellow. The shop owner said "your hair is gold there is no yellow in it" so I just said "ok" I had already been ridiculed and made to feel uncomfortable....it was just really awkward and I didn't advocate how I felt as much as I should have. Fast forward to the checkout and I was charged 300$. 300$ for my very short less than two inches hair to be shaped, bleached and toned. I paid less here for my long hair and it was obvious I was being upcharged for my "obnoxious behavior". I reluctantly paid because I didn't want to be further accused of causing a scene. I called the owner after explained to her how I felt and that I thought I paid way to much for my short of hair especially for it to not come out at all how I anticipated. She said she "didn't know what I wanted out of this" I explained I didn't think I should be charged so much "I'm not an owner who's going to give you what you want just because" like what?! I've never complained ever yikes! She said we agreed to disagree and offered to refund me 30$ for the toner. Yikes. We will see if that happens. Anyway, I told her I wanted to call her about it first and have a understanding convo and try to resolve it between us because things had always been lovely in the past. She wasn't willing to at all. Despite the thousands I had spent in there on my hair previously. Really felt lousy to have someone be so greedy they can't let go of a few hundred dollars for the integrity and decency of my experience.. oh oh AND she ended the phone call by saying "you're not a good fit for the salon going forward" OUCH. I never once raised my voice or cussed at this woman. I did act petty and refer to her as a "mean lady" when I explained to my son that we had to leave. Thoroughly regret that desicion I literally look like slim shady

    I am so thrilled with the experience I had today at Blank Canvas. I was a client of another big salon in town, but open to trying something new, hence the call to Blank Canvas. I arrived to find a clean, beautiful, modern atmosphere. All of the staff were kind and friendly. I was looking to go from a light faded blonde balayage to a darker color. Maddie was my stylist. My hair looks exactly like I was hoping. Maddie was so nice and easy to chat with too. Thank you Blank Canvas and Maddie H. for providing top quality beauty service. I am officially now a dedicated client see below for before and after photo which speaks for itself!

    I've been going to Sam for at least the past year now. I moved with her from the previous salon she was at because I just love when she colors my hair. I never leave disappointed. Prior to Sam coloring my hair I used box dye for a WHILE, it took a couple visits but Sam was able to get my hair right to where I want it to be. You can't expect to leave after one visit with your color where you want if you're going from a boxed dark violet to a beautiful balayage. I expected to leave with brassy discolored hair but that was never the case. The photos attached show my transition!

I should also add that I live close to Boston but make the trip up to Derry to see Laura because of her talent, honesty, and great personality! Before my wedding in August 2017, she patiently spent months coloring my hair to get it to match my vision for my wedding day, and helped me pick out the perfect hair extensions. I felt like a princess on my wedding day!!! I honestly never thought my hair could look so good, as if I were a celebrity, but it did! My husband's grandmother is a retired hairdresser and she was impressed with my hair for the big day! Laura has taken my rich, dark (almost black) hair to blonde and back to natural, and has done a great job every time. She also offers Brazilian blowouts, which are great for straight-iron addicts. As of recently, due to covid, I've been seeing Amy for these, and she does an excellent job as well. In fact, all the ladies at Salon Tuscany are super friendly and lovely, and I would not hesitate to recommend this salon to anyone!

    This is a letter that was sent to the management of Salon Tuscany, regarding an independent stylist…read morethat works there. I highly recommend NOT letting her ruin your hair. Management did respond and apologize. They stated it would be up to Laura to refund the service. I am writing to address a service that my daughter had done last week. I will attach pictures that speak for themselves. When addressed with Laura, she gave numerous excuses and flat out lies of why my daughter's hair turned out like this. After being in the industry for many years, I know for a fact that she knew she made a mistake by bringing Alex back to the sink for a second toner. All that was being requested was a simple partial highlight of her "virgin" roots. When my daughter stated she was unhappy with the outcome, Laura said she would fix it next week for another $65. I find this completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Laura never apologized, only gave a slew of excuses and said it was a "corrective color." That was never discussed. The only thing Laura offered was the tip back, shameful. I didn't even address the fact that Laura started a haircut, stopped in the middle of it and left my daughter soaking wet. She had to leave the salon this way after she was told her she didn't have time to finish the service. She now has to go elsewhere and pay for someone to fix the mess Laura created. UPDATE She has since had her hair fixed and it looks fantastic, besides the few places she didn't lift enough the first time with Laura. The experienced stylist at Salon Bogar had no words for what Laura had done to her hair or why she did what she did!
