Mr. Blake is a kind man but I believe he takes on more than he can effectively accomplish. Met…read morewith him over a year ago to do estate planning. Paid half of a set price that was to include any phone calls, emails, or office visit communication in the process of estate planning. The remaining balance was to be paid upon completion. Almost immediate after the first visit it was difficult to get in touch with him. Emails would go unread and unreturned, phone calls also would go unreturned but eventually he would get back with me after frustrating phone tag through an answering service. We met a few times in the office to discuss plans or go over draft documents and I provided him with everything requested such as copies of deeds, etc. A lot of times on the drafts there were spelling errors of my name and names of members of my family which is why I know emails I sent were not always read. Office visits were frustrating because it seemed as if the only time he worked on my case was during the office visit and the first hour would be playing catch-up from the last meeting. I do not have anything to show for spending over $2k and waiting over a year. I requested draft copies of documents even if unfinished but have not received, so I suspect it means nothing changed from meeting about six months ago. I am giving up on receiving anything and now starting the process of talking to another estate planning attorney from a firm with actual staff (versus Blake's office where he uses a call service who takes messages but they have no knowledge of your case at all and they cannot give you any status updates) I dread that I have to start this stressful process all over with someone else and spend even more money. Mr Blake had a good personality and was sensitive to the subject matter and I had truly hoped to be able to see this through with him however this process of no communication has caused me so much stress and aggravation it would be worth the additional money to start over with someone else and feel I was effectively accomplishing my goal of protecting my loved ones. I do not think he is an intentionally dishonest person (which is why not giving one star) but he should not overcommit himself. Apparently my estate planning was more complex than he was able or willing to handle and I lost all confidence and trust in him and the process. Before he takes on new clients he should focus on completing work that was already committed.

Rarely returned or answered calls or email. When my husband went to the office to tell him that his…read morebrother would be taking over, he wasn't nice about it and when my husband said he was having a stroke, the attorney and a woman were cold and hateful. He in fact had a stroke and was in the hospital for a couple of days. Would never recommend him.
