Yes, I'm reviewing a gas station and yes I'm giving it a perfect rating. Here's why…read more I don't get my gas here but I do stop in often to fill up my Yeti with Diet Coke. They have two types of ice (cubed and crushed), every single imaginable flavor of soda your heart desires, Icees, coffee (hot and cold), donuts, sandwiches, hot dogs with all the fixings and froyo with every topping you can think of. It's a one stop shop. It's on busy Ambassador Caf, but it's easy to get in and out of. I was here this week to fill up with Diet Coke and accidently dropped my lid in the trash while changing my straw. I had a bit of a panic attack thinking "what the hell am I going to do with no lid?" It's sort of my most prized possession at the moment and was a gift from my dad, so... Thankfully a guy working the counter saw my mistake and saw the look on my face and walked over, pulled out the bag and found my lid and handed it to me. Without a word. Wanted to hug him, but didn't. I just thanked him profusely. So yes, I'll continue to return to this Racetrac and y'all should too. Oh, and by the way? That refill was on the house.

The only downfall is how it is located on the corner of ambassador caffery and verot school road. I just got back from here. I was told by their entry-gate employee that I could get a wash for my…read moresmall pickup for $8, but to vacuum would be $5. I agreed & entered. I'm a disabled 81yo. After what I'd consider a partial wash, the front of the truck was fairly clean but the rear was still filthy, I parked at one of the many vacuum stations, as directed, & entered the office area to find a seat. The person at the desk asked what I was doing there. I said that I was waiting for truck to be vacuumed; but she replied that "This is a self-service operation, you have to vacuum it yourself. Well, why didn't they tell me that instead of saying it would be vacuumed? I have 2 power washers and a commercial vacuum at my home, several miles away. Had I wanted to wash my truck myself, I would have stayed home. I call deceptive practices. There are several much better places on this same street. Just don't go here.

The diesel fuel island were very clean and well maintained and the prices very competitive considering the times. The staff here was very friendly and this Love's has all the amenities you've come to expect - this is my brand of choice when traveling in the RV. I did not need the RV accommodations but it's nice to see Love's has incorporated RV sites into there business model, having dedicated parking for RV with utilities is an amazing undertaking and frees up over the road truck parking so they recognized these two don't mix well. I stopped here to fuel the RV before leaving the area it's really a well designed traffic pattern one I'd stop in again when in the area...

The pump area was tidy and clean, which is always the right first impression, and the pump itself worked exactly as it should. The receipt printer printed without any drama and I was able to clear the remains of the bayou's bugs from the windshield without stretching or improvising. Once we moved to a proper parking spot we headed inside. Men's room first and it was clean, really clean, the kind of clean where you hit the green button on the way out without hesitation. Mrs. K reported that the ladies room was equally spotless, which only reinforced the sense that this location takes pride in the basics. The snack selection was generous, but after the high fat and high sugar beignets we had enjoyed in New Orleans it felt like time to reset a bit. We grabbed a plastic tub of garden salad with a couple of boiled eggs from the cooler along with a bottle of Tropicana orange juice, a simple combination of clean and healthy roughage that hit the spot. A lovely lady rang up our purchase, wished us a pleasant journey and sent us on our way after what turned out to be one of the most pleasant Love's stops we've had. They're all great, but this one was extra great. [Review 276 of 2026 - 92 in Louisiana - 25465 overall]
