Veggie tacos & fish tacos

Amazing authentic Mexican restaurant! The veggie tacos are top tier delicious, and I can't wait to return for more!

Great food very tasty, I had carne asada and chicken tacos. I liked the carne asada was a lot better. Prices are ok they have a taco Tuesday that I would like to go and check it out. The service was ok I wish they had complimentary chips and water. But the twcis were great and the guacamole was really good. The service was ok I wish they had given me utensils but didn't. It's a cozy spot a whole in the wall. I would definitely check it out for taco Tuesday.

This place is a hidden gem. It's a small restaurant but it feels so homey. They had plenty of snacks and Mexican ice cream. We ordered to go because we had our dog with us. I ordered 3 tacos de asada and my partner ordered 1 taco de chorizo, 1 de asada and 1 chicken. The tacos are soooooooooo good, the tortilla is crunchy but soft at the same time. It's very authentic and one of the best tacos I've tried. I wish I had ordered more to go. Best tacos every. Friendly staff.

We've been here 3x this month! That's how delicious and authentic the food is. Plus the servers and kitchen staff are incredibly kind. It's like being at someone's home in Mexico. That's the kind of quality, decor and authenticity that this place can honestly boast. So far everything we've ordered has been a hit. Not a single complaint.

Authentic Mexican tacos - the place was so busy even at 930pm! We got 2 birria, 2 Al pastor, 2 suadero tacos. Wish the Al pastor had pineapple but everything was so delicious. Just took a while to come out but that means it was fresh! 6 tacos for $24 + tip.

Great hole in the wall app for great tacos and pastries. It's a no frills spot but the food doesn't disappoint. Service was fine, just one person working but had no issue with waiting a bit. Tacos were amazing and the guacamole was super fresh. Would visit again

I enjoyed the tacos at El Papi. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and 1 taco de lengua. I asked for my tacos with no onion and they were happy to accommodate my request. Tacos come with 2 lightly toasted corn tortillas and each table has a green and red salsa to add some heat. Both salsas were delicious! Staff were friendly and service is fast.

Very clean restaurant, great service, and very fairly priced. Great option for take out or dining in. This is a hidden gem. The chorizo tacos were great. I'll be back for a torta soon.

If you want authentic Mexican tacos...this is your place. It brought me back to my travels through Central America. Tacos are out of control good! You are not coming here for the ambiance and this is a great place to practice your Spanish. For what it is...5 star in my book!

So this place was cool. The service was good, even though there was somewhat of a language barrier, but we knew what we were getting into anyway. Our Spanish is not so good but we made it through. The food was good maybe the meat could've used a little bit more seasoning, but it was authentic and it did the job

carne asada and pastor tacos

absolutely amazing tacos. I had the carne asada and pastor. the meat is very flavorful and the tacos come with cucumbers, roasted onions, radishes and salsa. the guac is phenomenal as well will definitely be making this a go to

Even though it was happy hour, our server was very attentive and didn't disappear when it came to refills like at other restaurants. We opted to sit outside this time and it was the perfect choice - the people watching and weather were ideal! We've sat inside previously when the weather wasn't so great outside and the ambiance is just was pleasing. This is a must visit for lunch or dinner, rain or shine when in the Ft Lauderdale area.

It's hard to tell and the menu doesn't really help clarify the identity either. The drinks are just okay. They get the job done but nothing about them stands out or makes you want to order a second round. Honestly there are better spots around Wilton Manors for the same type of food, but I get why people keep coming back -- it's become a bit of a staple on The Drive and there's something to be said for that. If you're in the area and the community is gathering there, it's absolutely worth checking out for the experience. Just go in without super high expectations and you'll probably have a fine time.

I noticed the staff even telling the uber delivery drivers to drive safe. That's genuine! I've sat at both tables and the bar, and the bar easily wins for me. Especially on karaoke nights. it brings such a fun, lively energy to the place that makes you want to stay longer than planned. The place is also decorated super cute too. Funny enough, I actually heard about Casa Monarca directly from the owner. Total random moment, I was telling a friend how much I love tacos, and he happened to be a friend of my friend. He told me to check it out, and I'm glad I remembered and listened because he definitely didn't steer me wrong. Food never disappoints. I've tried a bunch of different things. The chorizo tacos, elote, verde enchiladas, quesadillas, and nachos. I make it a point to switch it up every visit. Everything I've had has been fire!! Next on my list is the choripollo, and I already know it's going to hit. Parking is easy too, which is always a plus. They've got a big lot so no stressing there. I did hear they're moving locations very soon (I think this week?) but it's just a few minutes away. They definitely didn't lose a customer. 10/10 recommend Casa Monarca. If you're in FTL and want some fire Mexican food with good energy staff and locals, this is the spot.

Casa Monarca closed on Federal Highway and *poof* opened up on Prospect Road…read more Upon entering I took a quick look around: It's smaller with lots of tables and a few booths. Still an attractive interior. Two very nice servers were on the floor. We just missed lunch so the dinner menu was our only option. They brought the complementary chips and salsa (which some places now have the nerve to charge for), it's a tasty salsa. Ordered some "fresh made" guac (it better be!) which was made better with a few squeezes of lime juice. We decided to try the combo platters since the kitchen was new and it's a good test. My dining companion opted for shredded beef burrito and a ground beef chili relleno. I went with a ground beef tostada and shredded chicken enchilada. With the requisite beans and rice. Look, it was good food, not knock your socks off cuisine. I mean we consciously chose Mex-American so that's on us. The menu offers some other interesting options that I'd order next time. My only gripe is a dry enchilada. I like them swimming in red sauce and cheese which this was not. Otherwise, as I stated, nothing to complain about. The price point is decent for dinner in Fort Lauderdale. Btw I love a good tostada and mine was pretty darn yummy.

Some friends went to the bar to get happy hour drinks and I guess they were overwhelmed? Seemed slow but I guess they were busy. My main issue is that the food is overpriced for the half decent quality. Most of the food tasted store bought and could've been a little better. Drinks were okay, would be considered perfect if you love to barely taste liquor (they certainly get you drunk though so can't be too mad). The bathroom situation could be a little better and cleaner, can be confusing to find and it's where a different restaurant is? Idk who designed that. And lastly they can't split the bill more than two ways and you can't get your own individual checks so we had to send money to someone and had them pay. This really could've been a zero star review but the I had fun with the karaoke, but even that could've been better with a designated spot instead of running around looking for the mic. Most likely won't be back but seems like I won't miss much. OH and one of the passion fruit drinks that began with the letter "G" is made with reposado but I guess they charge you for choosing reposado??? Like what the fuck man.

(With lots of tequilas, beers, and craft cocktails) We had a group of 7 on a Saturday night. We tried to get a reservation but after many calls; no one ever answered the phone. We decided to risk it because we were going pretty early, 6:00. We did have to attend an 8;00 show at the Broward Center which is just 1/2 a mile away. The place was pretty empty and we had no problem getting a few tables put together. There is a very extensive menu with lots of apps, a few salads, enchiladas, fajitas, and at least 15 taco varieties. I ordered a reposado margarita, which was fabulous, for $15. For food I went with the Trio of Tacos for $18. There was one chicken taco, one carnitas taco, and one gringo beef taco. The tortillas were small; but they were piled high! They were also tasty. One friend had the Citrus Mango Shrimp Tacos, $19. She said they were very good. Two friends had the Baja Fish Tacos on our servers recommendation, $19. One friend said they were just ok because they weren't crunchy at all and she didn't care for the cilantro slaw filling, the other friend thought they were delicious and savory! Yet another friend had the chicken nachos. She didn't care for them at all because they had a cheese sauce as opposed to authentic shredded cheese. Our waiters were attentive; but we did have a little delay with one of the fish taco orders. Everyone had food except for one diner and we had to flag down a server and wait quite a while for her to finally get her meal. Everyone on the staff was friendly though, and they didn't mind giving us separate checks.
