I have been bringing my cars here for over 17 years. They won my business because they are honest…read morewith their customers even when the prognosis is not good. In that time, I have gone through three cars (all with over 200,000 miles on them). In the 17 years I have been going here, here are some of my experiences. 1) They told me flat out that one of my cars was not worth paying to fix. It was at the end of its life (I drive them to death) and they could have had me for an engine replacement... but they told me finding a used car would be a better use of my money. That is honesty that cost them that job... but gained them a lifetime customer. 2) I brought my car 4 years ago in because the MGP dropped quickly, it seemed to be speeding up slower and it was starting to make some light noises. I dropped it off. They took a look at it and told me that nothing was wrong. I am still driving that car and nothing came of this... they were right. 3) Just this year, my car started misfiring. I dropped it off. They said it would be an engine job and (once again) the car may not be worth fixing; drive it till it dies. They then said that they do have a product that would mix with the oil and possibly loosen things up and give the car some extended life. We did it, and the car stopped misfiring enough to get the check engine light to go off and I just passed inspection. It is not fixed, but it didn't cost me an engine job. I am going to drive this thing till the state tells me I can't (or it dies)... almost 300,000 miles now. Since starting to come here, I have recommended this place to friends and family. My father and my mother now bring their cars here... I would not recommend to them, unless this place was the real deal. I have many more experiences, but this is long enough already. Jumping from dishonest mechanic to dishonest mechanic trying to pinch pennies will cost you way more that just paying an reasonably priced honest mechanic. Over the phone, he had told him that it was $25 to resurface, $25 to check and $225 to rebuild the head completely. I only really needed a resurface and I thought it'd be a good idea to have it checked too. I brought it in and when I told them who had recommended me and the price that was quoted over the phone, they immediately denied the price. Honestly, the price was a little hard to believe so I wasn't surprised when they told me they couldn't honor that price. I was a little surprised that they totally denied quoting those prices, but, hey, maybe something got lost in translation. No big deal. As to their work, it looks great. The head is resurfaced and it's ready to go back on the engine. There were a couple scratches on the newly machined surface from it being slid around, but I'm not too worried about them. I'll definitely be coming back.

I get my oil changes at the dealership and they did that and after that was completed, the service advisor tells me that my oil pan was leaking and that I needed to replace it. The cost was $530. The advisor continued by telling me that the passenger side front axle had grease all over it and that that repair would cost $2150. I was suspicious and untrusting of Clay Cooley simply because of the entire situation, so I had seen online Dwight's & Don's Auto Care and I decided to give them a try. I met with Justin and explained my situation and he presented himself as a truthful guy and I decided to give them a try. Well, after everything was done, my oil pan didn't need to be replaced. It was the oil filter housing assembly that needed to be replaced because it's plastic and had broken. As for the front axle and the grease, Don told me that they cleaned it up and that the boot wasn't torn and that there was no reason for any further repair. So, after going to see Dwight's and Don's Auto Care, I went from a possible $2100 repair bill to a $400 repair bill. My Palisade SUV is running good and I highly appreciate Justin's and Don's sincere honesty. This was my first time in their shop and they took care of me like I was a regular customer and from now on I probably will be. Thank you so very much, I'll definitely be back when any other work is needed.

While my truck is now in good working order, the experience with the service and customer care left…read morea lot to be desired. I dropped off my truck for a repair to the lift system (any level), which took nearly two months. During this time, communication was minimal and poor. When discussing pricing, I found the subject to be awkward, and I was never provided with an itemized invoice detailing the breakdown of work and parts. The day before I was scheduled to pick up my truck, I received a call asking if I knew the remaining balance of my bill. Since I had previously left a deposit, I estimated the balance to be no more than $2,500--$1,000 more than the price we had originally discussed. Just minutes after this conversation, I received a message confirming that the remaining balance was indeed $2,500, but with a request to pay through Zelle again, which I found odd. I opted to pay in cash when I picked up my truck instead. Upon arriving, I paid the balance and received a hand-written invoice in front of me. However, when I walked out to my truck, I found it to be filthy inside--despite having the truck freshly detailed prior to dropping it off. After two conversations with both the owner and the employee I dealt with throughout the process, I was told, 'You expect us to have your truck for over a month and have it be clean?' This response was completely mind-boggling. To make matters worse, I later discovered items in the bed of my truck that did not belong to me, along with missing components. I have attached pictures to show the condition the truck was returned in. Overall, this experience was disappointing, and I feel that the lack of professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy was unacceptable.
