Judge Jack McCurdy, Judge Hatfield, Judge Hesse and now Judge Gass. What I like about Canadian County is that they will meet with the lawyers in chambers, but if necessary tell the parties, from the bench what and why they made the decision they did. All around nice people that make fair decisions.

Got called for jury duty. They don't tell you that you have to pay for parking or that parking is…read moreonly paid with cash. So after sitting all day I went to leave and they said they don't validate parking. So I had to go pay at the office first. I went to the office and they only have machines that accept cash. So I had to use the ATM and there is a fee of $3 to use it. So my $9 parking ended up costing $12. I asked the worker why parking isn't validated and she said they give the $20 for jury duty with $10 being for parking and $10 for lunch. I'm sorry, but they don't give the money to us each day, So beware that if you have to do jury duty, make sure you have cash to pay for everything that should be included, since this wasn't my choice to do. If I'm being made to do something that takes up my entire day, please pay me appropriately for it or at the minimum pay for my parking.

How do you rate a court? Hmm! Let me count the ways.... 1…read more They are pretty organized and try to get you in and out as fast as they can 2. Maintain order. Someone has to in a city 3. Friendly staff 4. All walks of life attend 5. Suit clad lawyers. Hey, they have to make a living some how 6. People in jail = not really a high point. Some people need help and don't know where to go or who to turn to 7. It's almost like going to a DMV, but you're embarrassed to admit you had to go. I'm not a rebel. Honestly, I despise going to court, but sometimes you mess up and well... You have to see the judge. I wanted to fight my speeding ticket, but chickened out. In hindsight, this was not a good idea because the cops in Norman actually show up for hearings. This is from my own observation after 2 visits. Am I really a fan? No, not really. I've come here for a Christmas party and many many blood drives. This place is quite big to host many different kinds of events. It has wooden floors, big windows and access to at least 2 doors on the north and west side if the building, a third door is open from 8am-4pm on the east side by other offices. When we had a Christmas party here there was a stage so I know one can be set up. I came here today for the blood drive hosted by the Oklahoma Blood Institute. I'm an O- so often I'm called to schedule appointments. Mine today is at 4:50pm, I'm still waiting at 5:23..so I'm thinking what is the use of making an appointment if you're treated like a walk-in. There's 3 of us that has appointments and two walk-ins waiting. Anyway this is a review of City Hall, not the blood drive. It's a great place to host events!!

As most of my family are either police officers, judges, FBI, OSBI or military it feels comfortable for me being here. Today, early Monday morning the morning shift is just coming in, I got here too early and needed to wait another 10 min. so why not Yelp the place lol. I was kind of surprised that it wasn't listed on Yelp or Google maps so I had to ask the dispatcher my questions when I was allowed to go in at 8am. I came to bail out my son who drank a little too much last night and had to sleep it off till morning. His bail was set at $250.00 and I had a money order in hand, turns out they take cash so it took us longer having to go through the Court Clerks Office to accept the money order. I sat at a table entering my Yelp information, waiting for the Court Clerk to arrive and for them to call my son down from his cell. Well she showed up and so did my son at about the same time. I was getting the Court information while the dispatcher handed over his clothes. When I got up I realized my foot had fallen asleep. With every step I took it felt like I was walking on my ankle and I fell flat on the floor. Now, this wasn't rushing us out of here at all! I sat on the floor trying to get blood circulating again while Derrick, my son was changing his clothes. By the time he was done I was ready to try and get up off the floor. This morning's already turning out awful. I have an appoint an hour and a half drive away and now I only have an hour to get there..next time (if there is a next time) I'll know to bring cash!
